  1. clubs should own players, effectively becoming their agents, they decide when they should be sold and for how much. when they are sold to another club they then become the property of that club and they then become their agents..........i cant see the point in paying some jumped up little double glazing salesman for something that could be done by the club. an agent is just a parasite,if any problems arise with a player then the players union could step in to sort it out,the agent is not needed.
  2. just the same way as success on the field will start to attract the attention of the stay aways it will also follow for this board.
  3. dont we have a few posters on here who are based in dubai???
  4. according to mark dennis on hampshire radio tonight.... he said that he had a whiff of info that it would happen?????? anybody else hear it? :smt102
  5. but do lowe and wilde want to talk to him? something needs to give with these three or we are just going to be in constant limbo,it is obvious nobody in their right mind would want to buy us at the moment, not until the threat of relegation is erased so they probably are going to have to work together to keep us safe..........perhaps somebody will fancy us then :smt102
  6. whatever happens off of the field we are both in the sh1t on it and we should learn from each others mistakes, pompey havnt done that yet and they will probably go the same way as us...................i dont wish relegation on anybody not even pompey as it has destroyed us but it would be nice to play them again, thats if we can stay in the championship.
  7. will daisies do..........it is a credit crunch :smt102
  8. nice idea but is anybody going to listen to what the trust has to say? i am not a member,i dont want to be,but i do know the lads who run it well and they are good people. im not sure that i feel comfortable with one of them representing me on the board because i dont believe they will be strong enough or controversial enough to be able to influence any decisions.they dont influence anything outside of the club so i dont believe they will get the backing they need from the fanbase to press on.it is a shame really because on paper it looks like a good idea but i cant ever see it getting past first base unless a there is a massive swing in their favour from us lot.
  9. barclays will not pull the plug on any football club, the sponsors of the premier league cannot be seen to be destroying a 'down on its luck' football club for the sake of a few mil. there are more than enough assets at the club (players, real estate) to cover there money if need be and the bank has had a good working relationship for many years with SFC so i doubt very much they would be willing to stick the knife in.
  10. it has been proven that welsh people do like to dip their wicks into the fluffy white grass munchers, they have been caught doing it on numerous occasions but black people do not swing from the trees, eat bananas like they are going out of fashion or groom each other for lice. i suggest that if you are easily upset by a bit of chanting then i would steer clear of football grounds and stick to a sport that the welsh are good at........chasing sheep around a field with your mint sauce covered knob hanging out :-)
  11. our man who remained elusive for so long..............is he still around or did he go when JP departed?
  12. i think the echo was banned from the ground for a while (press conferences, training sessions etc) but i cant for the life of me remember why?
  13. im not sure of the echo's financial injection to the club (if any??) but i expect i could find out. in a twisted way it is a shame that we won in a decent fashion yesterday as i suspect he would have really been under a great deal of pressure and would have probably cracked this week, which is nothing more than he deserves really.
  14. as i said a few weeks ago,the echo has upset the club,it started with the wotton thing a few weeks back when there was an alleged fallout with wotton and portvliet, the echo wanted to run the story and for one reason or another it was prevented from doing so. according to my source things have been a bit frosty since then...........expect to see the echo turning the screw on wilde and lowe in the next few weeks.
  15. to the severity of our situation? tbh todays result was unexpected and we actually played really well,it was hard to pick a motm as it could have gone to about 5 or 6 players which is a good indication of how the game went. to a neutral it would have looked as if we were the team challenging for promotion and preston the team fighting for survival, their fans were very quiet and their team very bad. has anything changed apart from the fact we have gained 3 valuable points? i hope that things have turned a corner but we will have to wait and see ,personally i think it is a case of 'one swallow does not a summer make',we need todays attitude for every game until the end of the season and im sure we will survive, anything less will result in relegation. keep up the good work.
  16. i think you will find that its just trapped wind!
  17. didnt arsenal do the same a few years back when they were doing some work on one of the stands?........what they failed to do was paint any black supporters and judging by that picture so have copenhagen.im not sure about the black population of copenhagen but i know for a fact that there are no blacks in north london
  18. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4143786.Wiseman_fires_broadside_at_shareholders_who_continue_to_back_Lowe/ Edit - DO NOT COPY ARTICLES VERBATIM FROM OTHER WEBSITES
  19. if nobody turned up for a game, not one single person, would they still say there was 9k in the stadium?
  20. got a reply last night..... I apologise if my original e-mail didn't quite add up. In my reference to the fact that the situation was made clear by the Echo a few weeks ago, I was in fact refering to the fact that when the Echo contacted us about Malcolm and David, we informed them that we were unable to comment due to the fact that it was an ongoing employment issue. This they reported word for word. As I have said, at this moment in time the Club is unable to make an official comment - announcing the situation on the Club's official website would be considered an official comment. It is in situations like these that we will liaise with the Echo to release a statement to inform fans of the situation (so as not to keep them in the dark). Without meaning to sound repetitive, all that we can say at the moment has been said. The world of employment law is (or so I am informed) very complex and I think it is probably worth pointing out that once all parties (the Club, Malcolm and David) have settled on an outcome then we will of course make an official statement. In the meantime I will check with the Club's HR department first thing in the morning to try to ascertain a realistic timeframe as to when things will be settled. I hope that this goes some way to clearing things up for you, and apologise if any of this e-mail doesn't read particularly well - I am sending this from a rather tempermental and jumpy blackberry! If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards,
  21. i have just sent this reply to the press office..... thanks for the reply,i dont mean to be rude but when has the echo been the official mouthpiece of the club?,surely this should have been posted on the official site.you mention ongoing employment issues and if this involves a court case then it is understandable that this cannot be discussed but if they are just seeing out there contracts because they are surplus to requirements then this should be made public.please dont think i am being difficult or having a go at you personally but i am a paying customer (4 season tickets) and i would like to be informed in the proper manner when changes occur otherwise to the outside world it looks like this episode is just being brushed under the carpet and kept hush hush.it is hard a hard job being a saints fan at the moment and this episode just adds more resentment to an ever growing file of bad things that are happening to our once great club, especially when season ticket renewal forms are close to dropping through our letterboxes.i really love watching live football, and i like the convenience and value that a season ticket brings but it is little things like this that put me off spending money upfront on my season tickets.its about time the club became a bit more open about things otherwise it all seems a bit grubby and deceitful when the club treats its customers like idiots. lets wait and see if they reply.
  22. it is true that if we were flying high and everything was rosy then this event would have passed unnoticed but it has to be said that the club has the ability to use the internet when it chooses (good or bad news) so why use the echo when they have a perfectly good official website? ignorance probably is bliss........but only when you are doing well;-)
  23. this is true ponty but it is not their ability (or lack of) that has been questioned,it is the way that they have been treated and the subsequent lack of forthcoming information about their departures that ****es people off. it stinks of a grubby little cover up and it looks again like we are being treated as mushrooms.
  24. yes no no no the problem is things are not black and white there is a bit of murkiness, so some questions could be answered with a 'maybe' or 'no and yes' but i have stuck to the original post and answered the best i can. there was some scope for improvement under crouch but we didnt get the chance to see it so i have to go with no.
  25. ha ha my mirror is still in the hallway waiting for me to drill a couple of holes......cant see it happening until the weekend..........maybe:-)
