  1. i was saying the same thing when beckham broke onto the scene, people were falling over themselves to praise his genius but what they forgot to mention was that letiss was doing exactly the same if not better 10 years earlier.......was it anything to do with him playing for a small club like saints?
  2. is the administrator trying to sell the club as a whole package or is it trying to break it up into smaller pieces? the council seems to have an interest in buying the stadium but are the leftovers attractive enough to persuade any potential buyers to part with their money? could the councils interest be putting us in danger of not getting a buyer or is it going to oil the wheels of progress.i would imagine that the smaller bidders (the ones with less money) would be happy for the council to get involved but what about the wealthier bidders? i cant make up my mind if the councils involvment is a good or bad thing, but they seem to be persistant in their desire to be involved and nobody else has really spoken up so far. i would imagine it would go something like this.... 1) a billionaire with unlimited funds (unlikely) 2) a millionaire with time on his hands (maybe) 3) a consortium of rich 'fans' and the council (probably) 4) a coventry style hedge fund thingy (probably) 5) a trio of individuals similar to what we have just got rid of (not good enough/more infighting?) 6) a fans consortium and the council (only as a last resort) 7) no buyer,no club
  3. a championship club is obviously more attractive than a L1 club,i would imagine that this has something to do with it. i would also imagine that the nutters, tyre kickers and 'fans consortiums' have to be seperated from the serious potential buyers, out of those 34 applicants i can only see about 10% being able to put their money where their mouth is and if the council is one of them then taking it from personal experience it will be a long drawn out process as they employ far too many chiefs and not enough indians.
  4. i thought i heard the league announce that we wouldnt get any point deduction until next season if any?....was i hearing things? the way i look at it is that 10 points deducted next season in the championship will be a whole lot easier to swallow than a 10 point deduction in L1 ,but i dont believe we will have any punishment because the league havnt got a case against us.
  5. are you a hooker?
  6. ...if saints cease to exist? tbh i think i have seen the best that saints have to offer since i started going when i was 4 (1971),i have travelled the country and europe,i have been to a few cup finals and a few semis,i have seen them promoted and relegated,i have been to every saints v pompey game since my first in 1976 i have witnessed some of the greatest goals scored by some of the greatest players ever to wear the red and white and i have made some good friends through following saints so if they go out of business then i will always have those memories which i dont think can be topped, not in my lifetime anyway. ........what im basically saying is **** you younger lot you should have been born earlier:-) dont get me wrong,i would be devastated if it does happen.
  7. luton always used to be a regular on my awaydays in the 80's, had some good and bad experiences there but i will be sad to see them go,they were treated a bit harshly imo,the fans deserve better, they have been shafted by the knobheads in charge. as a fan of football i dont like to see football fans treated unfairly and luton fans have every right to feel p1ssed off, especially if we dodge the 10 point deduction,i will feel for them but if there is a loophole and we get away with it then so be it.
  8. id agree, him and lallana stepped up a gear today, they were top notch but is it a too late?
  9. i dont usually watch the bench too much but noticed a fat bloke with a limp on the bench sometimes walking up the tunnel to get stuff,he had a white t shirt on any ideas? is he woggys replacement?
  10. wave 105 just reported 20k sold expected 2k walkup.....not very good imo but still better than pompey :-)
  11. if the club ceases to exist...?
  12. whatever division we are in next season (if we still exist) i am certain that we will have a new manager. any potential buyers of the club will certainly want their own man unless of course lowe fancies another crack. am i right in saying that wotte is only contracted to the end of the season? and tbh he hasnt really set the world alight,it just seemed better because of how bad JP was. so like it or not we will be scrutinising over a new mans tactics, after match reactions and 'out of hours' habits/vices.......unless of course there wont be a team to manage in which case i will be starting a new forum so people can moan about going shopping with the mrs on a saturday........http://www.satoutsideawomenschangingroom.co.uk/forum
  13. I've been saying get keegan in since we got relegated and I usually get shouted down......good luck with it though,I would love it if he did come.
  14. i think i would start with bwp and euell upfront, saga has done ok but seems a bit slow of the mark in the last few games.
  15. take the lad,i took my 3 when they were little, its hard work but at least you get to see the game and its only a pound.......go on take him,you know you want to,i'll give you the pound:-)
  16. tbh if i didnt post on here i wouldnt have known about it. i am a season ticket holder and you would think that the club would have sent an email or flyer to let us know that the offer is on,i dont go on the OS as it is sh1t so i dont bother with it. somebody in the marketing department should have gone around to every school in a 20 mile radius and put up a poster,i know it is not everybodys cup of tea having thousands of kids in the ground but they would all be wanting drinks, food etc and all of the seats would have been full,i know they would only be paying a £1 but 10k kids would pay a couple of the players wages for the week.
  17. Bought an extra ticket yesterday for my sons mate, there was about 10 people in the queue and people were steadily joining it but when I asked how many they had sold they replied 'there's loads left'. With the 'kids for a quid' promotion you must be looking at least 25k surely?
  18. nonsense,MLT was on £16k when he retired.
  19. Blamed bad management, too many managers and lack of stability on our downfall.....nothing that we didn't all already know. He also said that there were 2 or 3 serious contenders interested in buying the club but he is not involved with any of them.
  20. we could have got him for peanuts and he wanted to come but the chiefs had other ideas,he is a saints fan and he must be hurting like the rest of us hence the lack of a goal celebration, but after all is said and done he is employed by wolves and he is paid to score goals so the best of luck to him. him playing or not wouldnt have made a difference,we were outplayed, out muscled and were tactically poor, they deserved their win and i hope they go onto better things its just a shame that we caved in so easily instead of fighting for our lives. poor tactics, poor managment, poor players, brilliant support.....wolves deserved the win.
  21. tbh merrington has a very good track record working with the young players but it was a long time ago and things have moved on.....armstrong on the other hand was a great player and i loved his style of play but would the combination of the two be good enough? im not so sure, but hey,is it any better than the gamble we have already got in place?
  22. all of you need to stop sweating, the league havnt got a leg to stand on,if they had then they would have already given us the 10 point deduction and as for luton then i laugh at their blustering.........they are just bitter that they didnt find the loophole,i hate to say it but honesty = zilch.
  23. With a name like that he has to be playing for Pompey
  24. All I can say is don't bother buying any bogroll this week:-)
