  1. Red [as in Shoes and Rudolph]
  2. Just seen it too. Yeah, some racer suits have airbags in them now, but it still hurts..! That crash is almost a copy of Randy De Puniet's at the Sachsenring MotoGP, just a few weeks ago when, having had a bad accident in qualifying running across split oil from a rivals blown engine, he went over again, was OK, but then was run over by Alexis Espargaro, the next day during the race, and had his left leg tibula and fibia completely splintered. I expect you'll catch it in here somewhere: As I remember, the camera didn't get a very good view. De Puniet is said to be coming back in just a few weeks. Completely bonkers.
  3. Same here. Practically any good quality film with a really touching moment can send me off on one. For example, the last time I saw Field of Dreams I thought... Right, not this time..! Man of iron..! But the lump grew bigger in my throat, and was nearly choking me, as the moment came, and Ray asked... Hey Dad, you wanna a game of catch..? And his Dad answered... I'd like that. I was gone. A blubbering wimp in the armchair. I'm a modern bloke and I like having emotions, so there.
  4. Oh, OK then.
  5. It's monocoque, literally meaning one or single shell. This means the car uses its bodywork to hold it together and doesn't have a separate chassis and bolt-on coachwork. Huge accident. Apologies for being picky.
  6. An absolute classic. I've also been looking at any John Betjeman films, especially which feature railways, I can come across. Films like Branch Line are a delight. But anything involving Betjeman has a certain magic. On another tack, I've just finished watching the second episode of Sherlock, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. I thought the first one was actually pretty good, and this one is fairly strong too, mainly because the actors flesh out the characters rather well. However, being a Holmes fan, since I read The Red Headed League as a kid, there are usually points in an adventure, written by someone else, but inspired by Conan-Doyle, where they trip themselves up. In this episode there was only one I could spot easily. It is where Watson's new girlfriend is strapped to a chair, waiting to be executed by a timed crossbow. Of course, Sherlock manages to get to her, in time, and starts to untie her. Then he is interrupted, by being attacked himself, and the suspense rises. But for me it had gone dead, because of course, someone with the IQ of Holmes would have simply kicked the chair over, thereby kicking the intended target away too. I hope the writer didn't underestimate the IQ of his viewers. But as I said, pretty good. The best thing about it is Cumberbatch though, who has a certain presence in everything he does.
  7. Within the correct context, of course.
  8. Unfortunately, people can spew the most appalling cr*p and get away with it, as long as they don't directly insult other members, or otherwise break forum rules. We allow them that freedom because this is a reasonably open forum. But we also hope for responsible, realistic opinions within the forums. It's why TMS was created, so that the crackpot sstuff could be put there.
  9. And me too. Well said.
  10. At least you didn't continually say Lord Lowe or The Flat Caps otherwise you'd have found yourself banned eventually.
  11. As a mod, it's a bit of prerequisite to have no infractions. But just yesterday, on my ebay account someone posted some really bad negative feedback after he reckoned I misdescribed the condition of the inside of an old bike engine I had auctioned off. It certainly wasn't intentional, but he was obviously disappointed with what he'd paid for, and I can't help it if people outbid each other. I'm a bit gutted by it too as I'd been 100% up until now.
  12. A Microsoft OS will still support hot keys and tabs and will show when you've got to the correct key. Then press Return or Enter. It's slow, but you'll get there. You'll also appreciate the mouse like you haven't for a very long time
  13. Well, apparently the Mark II version has an excellent Wolfson DAC, so I'd expect the Mark I to have a previous version of that.
  14. And which site did you copy that one from..?
  15. Tbf, cautious people will always be right eventually. The don't do that, or, we haven't done enough, mentality, will always win through at some point. Then there will be the inevitable told you so statement, that follows. As long as those same people are as ready to come along with the I'll admit I was wrong attitude, when it is appropriate, then fair enough. But it rarely works out like that, because that's the hardest thing to do. Second guessing, with little or no responsibility behind it, is an easier game than making the decisions that count. Who is to say that Saints policy of leaving the transfers until later is not the correct one, in this instance..? Just because we fans get a little jumpy doesn't mean that Saints are doing the wrong thing. Are we suggesting they're doing the wrong thing because we feel it is so, or because it would just make us feel easier if they got people in earlier..? FWIW, I felt that Alpine was striking the alarm bell rather too early, i.e. before the WC had even started, but by the time the Switzerland tour was well underway I, too, was hoping we'd completed our transfer business. You see, even I have my bell ringing time limit.
  16. Yes, but hang on...!?! How do you provide proper cover for Schneiderlin and Lambert..? Almost certainly the two best players in the division in their respective roles. If they stay fit, the covering players, that you want, have to spend most of their time in the reserves, but be good enough to come in and do a seamless job. It's just not do-able. What you do is what we already have, that is Barnard, Connolly, etc... who are part of a slightly different system of attack, but able to fill in with Lambert, or instead of him. Or you can possibly rotate them, as and when required. It's not a perfect system, but it's an affordable one. Who's to say that players won't be coming in, as you suggest, in any case..? The transfer window is wide open, and last year Rickie Lambert didn't appear until after the first game of the season. There is time, although I also wish they'd get a move on.
  17. I'm not gong to write it. I'm NOT..! Oh OK: trousers
  18. There was quite a song and dance made of it, at the time, but because of the lack of internet forums, and easy access to other's views, the official media line coud be adopted, without a problem, which was something like Murray Walker's racing accident rubbish. It was complete twaddle, and everyone watching knew Senna purposely ran into Prost. I must admit that, although I was no great fan of Prost, at the time, I certainly went off Senna. He explained the incident away rather neatly, but for me it was totally outside of the racing code. These were the days before the proper safety cell was in place, and there was every possibility that the accident could have caused the death of either or both of the drivers. If a rider deliberately does that in a motorcycle race, and if the bloke he's taken out is able to get up, he'll smack the other one, and the causer of the crash would probably be disqualified if he's able to finish. I'm not sure if it was James Hunt who called it right, but if I remember correctly, he wasn't at all impressed.
  19. Of course..! Sorry. Was a bit slow there. I'm assuming you'll not bother if we get the other two theoretically possible outcomes..? Oops, did I blaspheme..?
  20. Then you haven't understood them.
  21. We're top, in the sense of say... we win 1-0, another team wins 2-0, they are first, we are second, but equal on points..?
  22. I'm not overlooking anything. Perhaps you should read the entire exchange of views I've been having with other members on the subject, before submitting yours.
  23. Not only do you have to win, but you have to score the most goals too. I'll settle for the win.
  24. Now, now, CEC, you know full well that the general consensus of opinion on here was that Saints were generally better with Antonio rather than without him, despite Jason Puncheon being about the place. When I say that, I'm not saying Puncheon is worse or better, but that Antonio is a different player, who seems to operate when Puncheon doesn't, and visa-versa.
