Intelligent humour challenges the stereotype. The problem some people have with Frankie Boyle's humour is that it often reinforces the stereotype. That's not clever. However, I have found Frankie Boyle very funny and unfunny at different times. He's quite hit or miss. But as an example that I'm not treading some constant middle line here of avoiding bad taste, I love it when Hugh Dennis takes the stereotyical p!ss out of the royal family with his voiceovers of video clips featuring them. I make no apologies for that, and I don't care whether they are offended or not. It makes me laugh out loud. EDIT: Here's a good 'un: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqv_eHszKcQ

Don't be surprised when people raise objections to where it is ok, and where it is not ok, to joke. It is those very boundaries that some stand-up comedians kick against, and it is where their humour lies. If nobody complained there would be no boundaries, and everything would be carte blanche. Even the odd topic that might deeply offend people on here. So while you blithely dismiss others for being touchy or PC, spare a thought that one day it might be you, or yours, who is deeply offended.

Ta S-i-P. Nice to see Tony Elias doing well. He really should be riding in MotoGP. Quite surprised to see current 125cc World Champion Julian Simon doing as well as he is, also ex-125 alsoran Bradl. Obviously they've both got everything hooked-up, as motorcycle racing commentators say, early in the season.

Interesting. Rookie Ben Spies went backwards after promising a lot, straight off. Randy De Puniet is obviously having one those weekends. Such a shame he can't be consistent, as he's always had the talent. Notable though that 1st to 8th covers just one second. It is often much closer, as well. As to the 125s, Marc Marquez is going to be a future World Champion, there's no doubt. Just hope that Bardley can get his Championhip sorted before Marquez really fulfills his potential. How did the Moto2 grid sort itself out..? How did Scott Redding do..?

I've been listening to Space Force, Series 1, currently playing on Radio 7. Not bad at all. All of the episodes are still available, right from the start [couple of days left], if you're keen.

When me and the wife split up back in 2000, she left all her vinyl albums to me. One of them was Gord's Gold [1975], a double album of all of his best tunes upto then. I've never been a biggest fan, but the bloke certainly has his moments. For me, a tad too melancholic to listen to for an entire album though. You could always play Sundown to cheer yourself up. As the ex-partner is a Kiwi, it always reminds me of living in New Zealand.

But you could also cut people a little slack, and then rightly be entitled to some for yourself. As it happens, I believe AP is doing an excellent job. We don't know for sure that the short pre-season contributed to the bad start. We don't know for sure that the losing mentality, that Pardew alerted us to, that he encountered, when he arrived at SFC, needed turning around. We don't know for sure that the undoubtedly poorer quality team just couldn't perform to higher standards, right from the off. As far as we know, all the talk of little pre-season, poorer players, and poor attitude might be just Pardew bullsh!te. But actually, it has such a tangible feel of truth in it, that it is almost surprising that Saints have managed to haul themselves up into a position where, if they hadn't encountered a 10 point penalty, during a season where League One playoff positions require several higher points than in others, they would be well in contention, and bucking for automatic promotion. So although they've made the odd slip up along the way since the January transfer window, their general form and results have been excellent. And it is logical to point out that but for the bad start, and the -10 points, this team could be leading the table, at this point. However, pointing the obvious out will not change things, and this team are just as human, and therefore prone to the odd slip, as anyone else. Forget the what ifs, as it is too late for that. There are 6 games to go, so let's be positive. We have nothing to lose by being so.

Just got in from sailing a few moments ago, but heard the result on the radio. Didn't hear the crowd as the wind was blowing in exactly the wrong direction. Ah well. You peeps will just have to cheer louder. Even my non-footballing friend was happy that I was happy, which was nice for a change, because most of my friends can't believe I follow football [i don't, just Saints] at all.

Don't know if any Mods or Admin are about, and I'm about to get off to go sailing. So here's the match thread, ready and open. Put your comments here, when appropriate. Best of luck to every Saint player and fan today, and here's hoping for a win. COYS.

COYS. At 3pm, I shall be sat in a 26ft sailboat aground and waiting for the tide to come and float us off. Then we'll be making our way up the Itchen to get some diesel, and I shall hopefully have time to get the radio tuned into Solent's commentary. My sailing buddy is definitely not interested in football, so I'll be listening out for crowd noises as we get nearer. Huge cheers will be taken as goals scored..! Let's have a few today, especially the positive ones. COYS

I haven't seen him for years. I moved away, I know he moved away, and we lost touch. Suffice to say that, if I ever catch up with him again, I know I could just say... How about those lights, all those years ago, Mike..? And I'm 100% sure he'd know immediately what I was talking about.

Well it wouldn't have to do too much to be faster than IE. But wait for a few weeks. It'll slow up. As mentioned above, Mozilla Firefox is much better. Chrome is better, but a bit quirky, IMO.

Had Briggo's DVD for several years. It's pretty good.

But if Pompey go on to win the FA Cup, then we can drape out banners proclaiming they cheated their way to it.

Eddie Izzard - Circle Just been watching a few moments of this, and it's a little hit and miss. The bloke has balls though, because although I think he has an agenda, I believe he's just making the detail up as he goes along. He started a story with either Flipper, Skippy or Lassie alerting a person to danger. Then he started one called Sharky. It went like this: Sharky: Huge wide grin Concerned Person: What's up, Sharky..? Sharky: Huge wide grin Concerned person: What..? 3 young boys have fallen out of a boat..? Sharky: Huge wide grin Concerned person: You've already eaten them..? Sharky: Huge wide grin Concerned person: You're no f**king use, are you..!
