Probable announcement 11.23pm tonight. At least I will be home from work by then. Or maybe not!

Hardly surprising comments are they? Although some of the comments are a little/way over the top & unnecessary. Don't really need all the Wilkins is brilliant c**p.

Sheffield Wednesday 24hrs from administration
Under Weststand replied to corsacar saint's topic in General Sports
Not going to gloat about this, feel for the fans, but at least if they go into admin they are only down to 0 points & not to far adrift. Next job for Comical Andy -
Tend to agree with this, if this is the way Cortese is angling for then there is no way I can see MON or any other top manager agreeing or not falling out over 1st team decisions. I could see the concept working if it is done the other way around with the main decisions about the running of the club/playing systems/style of play however you want to describe it coming from the chairman & manager downwards. But never will it work with Reed & academy people involved in decision making.
-
Zola O'Neil O'Driscoll hardly been mentioned & has done a great job at Bournemouth & Doncaster. Would be more than happy with this man in charge.
-
Correct he can resign & can probably agree a deal behind their back with us. But he cannot take up his post & conduct himself as manager/head-coach until a compensation pakage with S****horpe has been agreed!

What an excellent debate, the main thing for me. Is getting people from chairman, down to the lowest academy coach all buying into a style/footballing philosophy ( aka Arsenal). Then it is getting the balance right at the start between the most important for me 1st team results as this ultimately drives the finances of the club. Get the first team right & playing attractive football & the club can then build downwards. Now the interaction of the pieces of the club (ie DOF 1st team manager/head coach etc) is ultimately down to the chairman to get those pieces of the jig-saw to fit correctly. Now maybe NC is trying to hard to do it all at once, & maybe needs to just concentrate for a couple of years on the 1st team get that right & then maybe tweak the staff further down the chain without ignoring it. I was brought up in the late seventies & early eighties & the football we played at that time was fantastic(maybe slightly rose tinted glasses) but it was football on the ground passing movement good to watch football. I'd just love our club to get back to playing that style of football week in week out. And we regularly brought through young players from the youth team/reserves. now i know its a different era, but if you get a backroom team all singing from the same hymn sheet then it can be achieved, it may take us a few years to achieve it playing a certain style of football from top to bottom of the club, but it has to be led from the 1st team & chairman for me.

Wed 8th Sept 11.30-am. Would love it to be O'Neil, realistically best bet probably Adkins.

Wilkins 'admits' management failure to make signings
Under Weststand replied to Professor's topic in The Saints
Forget for a minute the poor forward play & unable to break down even the likes of Rochdale. The most worrying thing for me is the amount of money we've spent on the defence but we are still unable at HOME to keep a clean sheet. -
Well sort it out Cortese the fans in the Itchen all turn towards the Directors box to voice their opinions. Very big week for Southampton football club & Cortese.

Another sitter missed by Mills
-
Just saying how much we are missing the likes of Antonio & Papa!
-
The whole thing is crumbling in on itself. We sound like a complete & utter shambles. The players are a disgrace they should have some professional pride. Where are the big players on the pitch getting things by the scruff of the neck?
-
Oh dear just in & what a poor result, how much lower can we sink? loosing at home to Rochdale. A great chance goes begging again. Has it been another one of those days? Cortese needs to sort this shambles out rapidly.

Saints (0)v(1) Swindon,2nd half chat....
Under Weststand replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
Oh dear same s**t different chairman, I'd hoped those days were behind us. But here we are once again imploding. So that's 4 home games no wins 1 goal scored & no clean sheets. No manager half the training staff gone, what a shambles. Oh happy 125 -
The hits just keep on coming, Hart PLEASE NOOOOOO! Would Cortese really be that stupid & thick skinned to try to put this idiot in the hot seat. The short term damage could be disastrous for this season. Please Please let this be BULL-S**T.
-
Just in from work & can't believe he would be stupid enough to appoint Hart. No more Skates at this club please. Does Cortese want unity at this club? because this is no way to bring it to our club. Seriously concerned about these rumours Sky Sports reporting that we have approached him. I sincerely hope that its all bull s**t. I fear it would have such a negative effect on the club. Only Saints could make such a F**K up of its 125 anniversary season.

Like a dog with a bone He is never NEVER coming back thank God

You could be onto something here
-
Could you put it on another site then & we could all go over there and see who it is!

Not sure on any that have been mentioned so far, Zola may become a good manager. But is he any better than Pardew? Curbishley has been been out of the game for to long in my mind! O'Neil would be the best bet at the moment but probably wouldn't consider us especially as he wouldn't put up with NC's shenanigans. As for Wise & Blackweel PLEASE NO! Off the wall suggestion, what about Seam O'driscoll at Doncaster, he did well at Bournemouth, & has done a great job at Doncaster with a limited budget & knows the leagues we have to get through. He seems to be a good coach who can get the best out of his players.
-
The timing of this is ridiculous why oh why do it now 4-0 win win the game in hand & were 2-points behind the leaders, we have a good squad, any new manager is only going to be able to get in loan signings. And who the F**K are we going to get better. Football never continues to surprise you does it CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!
-
WTF just switched over to sky sports news & breaking news Pardew & staff sacked. Win 4-0 & get the sack just unbelievable truly unbelievable! Just when you thought that we had a bit of stability we throw it all away again. I really hope that NC knows what he is doing as I'm becoming increasingly worried that he is just a loose cannon.
-
The money being suggested on here is a little over the top, but If his attitude was right & he brought his drive & desire to our midfield. Then his age doesn't come into it for me, and he would be an excellent signing for Saints. The questions here are for me 1) Did he want to/ Does he want to come here & help the club achieve its dream/plan? 2) Would he have come here if the wages were right? If it was 1-then I'd have him in a flash, because he would come with something to prove, & be I think a great leader on the pitch. wages can be sorted out with bonuses etc. Providing the player believes & wants what AP & NC are telling him. If it is/was 2-then absolutely NO we don't need players like that here anymore. 2 seems to fit the bill to what AP was alluding to in his interview about signings.
