That was a good statement & looks like we are in safe hands, the last few days will have shown the family that they are now part of a bigger Saints Family! They will in my view also have Markus wishes & dreams in mind. Good words from NC also, he only has Southampton's interest's at heart. I truly believe that he will do all he can now to fulfil Markus wishes & aspirations, there maybe a few up's & downs along the way but we will achieve it in due coarse. WIFM

A truly moving story about a true gent, thinking of others at a time when he probably new what was happening to himself. One of his last acts was a selfless act for one of his best friends. Just shows how much his family will miss him, they must be devastated, my heart goes out to them.

Well done MLG excellent poignant video just shows how Markus has touched the Saints community in his short time with us. The Watch story just tells you all you need to know about the man. Today his family found out just how much he has touched a community, they already new what a good man Markus was and whatever we feel, their loss will be so much more! Whatever happens in our future, at least we have a future thanks to Markus. I truly hope we never forget that.

76 cup final sweet & sour for me I was 10 yards from booking office when the final ticket was sold so couldn't go. But watched in ecstasy at home with the family as Bobby Stokes stroked it past Stepney & 7-mins later the Cup was ours fantastic. 78 at Brisbane road Orient 1-1 draw Tuesday night all but gave us promotion barring a 12 goal swing on the final Saturday at home to Spurs. What a great night that was must have been 12,000 to 14,000 Saints there that night. The day Keegan signed I was an apprentice at Wellworthys in Lymington in the tool room, a united supporting mate Pete came ambling over to my machine & told me we'd signed Keegan, I told him to f**k off & wouldn't believe him, rushed home on my bike & put Solent on & had it confirmed, I just can't describe the feeling that we'd just signed the European player of the year. No ones mentioned his 1st game blazing sun shine at a cram packed dell Under West-Stand(where else) Channon scores both in a 2-0 win against Man City that was an awesome atmosphere. I'd moved op north by the time we beat United 6-3 I was decorating at the time with the radio on & I was dreading a come back every time they went over for another goal only to be overjoyed when it was another Saints Goal. Boy did I have a good day at work that next Monday. Was at work when Mike came up at break time with his I phone & said he'd just seen on Sky that Markus (RIP) had died I was shocked, then checked my mobile & had it confirmed by the wife who had text the bad news.

Thanks to Wes & all others for their reports of the service for those that couldn't attend. Sounds like a very moving service for a big man that touched our community in such a profound manner in so short a time. Once again RIP Marcus & thank you!

Big thanks to MK & Pete Winkleman, Have to say I'm a little surprised but will be good the first game to show respect for Marcus is at Saint Marys.

I think a Leibherr foundation would be an excellent Idea, also maybe as mentioned a bust of Marcus in reception or maybe a large portrait of the big man celebrating at Wembley. I'd also maybe go for the stand to be named after him. But as said that is all in the future & the family should be in agreement & comfortable with anything decided upon. He did appear to be an unassuming man, & maybe the family would feel uncomfortable with to big an issue making of him.

Thanks for the memories though they be short & sweet Marcus, R.I.P many condolences to your family. lets honour him by making his dream come true. Another Saint in heaven.

I do not agree with the way that Cortese has gone about this, & I think he is in a no win situation. But as the dust settles on this, the ramblings of the red bannered scandal-rag loosely known as a paper that sounds like bun, becomes completely irrelevant to us. We hardly rate a mention as it is, & once a week get about 20/40 words about our game at the back of the soccer pull out. As said if you buy it & don't like it don't buy it again. Storm in a tea-cup.

This is a no win situation for NC & Saints now. No agency will be are suppler now & even if we got our own photographer no one would buy the pictures anyway. This will cause more damage than any minimal gains made form the image rights IMHO. NC may be a hard nosed buisness man & not one for making reverses on decisions he has made, but he needs to think very hard about doing it on this occasion. The papers (appears now its not just the Sun its all of them) will be looking for any little anti-Saints angle now & looking to increase the already considerable pressure that the players & staff are under, do the club & players really need this at this time of the season? Is it really worth it NC?

I really didn't think we'd miss Lambert as much as we did today, Connolly & Barnard need to play off a big striker they can't play together. 1st half we looked excellent, but never really got going 2nd half. And we missed not having either Antonio/Waigo to bring on and run at them. Hey ho usual 1st day performance from us.

Well we have to find a way to beat teams like this once again we are caught out by a stupid mistake from our own making. 2nd half performance was poor no real response to the goal. We really missed Ricky a lot more than I thought we would. Why oh why can we never ever win an opening day game.
