  1. You're absolutely right - I just know I would have over similar quotes from Factless
  2. Yes but phrases like the following also reminds me of Factless: "They were brilliant to me during my time at St Mary’s and I understand they are a passionate bunch. “It would be nice to get a good reception this time. It will be my last time there and I have so much fondness for the club and the fans because I was there for six years as a youngster and a senior player and they treated me brilliantly."
  3. Is Adam Leitch our Neil Allen - style and content certainly fits! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/10699552.Kevin_Phillips__I_shouldn_t_have_celebrated_my_winner_at_St_Mary_s/?ref=mr
  4. It seems that most have put it behind them when we discussed it last time: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?46118-Kevin-Phillips-talking-about-Saints-his-time-here-and-what-he-thinks-now
  5. Ok, I gather that this was the wrong thread to discuss Hearts of Midlothian Edit: if you're wondering about the tattooed fan, here he is: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/hearts-fan-vows-vladimir-romanovs-1968719
  6. Ok, maybe I'm covering old ground here, maybe even from recent pages, but is this the essence of a "certain" football club? - They ran up debts to an unsustainable level by signing expensive players on high wages - They used their inflated squad to beat their bitter rivals in a cup match - They got points deductions and were placed under a transfer embargo yet kept signing players - Their owner turned out to have channelled money out of Lithuania and is involved in a legal feud while hiding out in Russia - The club couldn't find a buyer and the ground below the football club is worth much more than the club itself - They have average gates between 10k and 15k but going in the wrong direction - They think fan ownership is the solution to their problems - They have a fan that is very famous for his tattoos Is this just about correct?
  7. It was just as arbitrary as when I started following Southampton FC in '92 because of Le Tiss, but I chose Dolphins as my team when they introduced the more regular use of wildcat plays with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Apart from that, I have come to experience that there isn't much glory in following the Dolphins
  8. Well feck me, even their chairs have to be the bestest and oldest. There's just no end to that theme...
  9. Thank you - much appreciated!
  10. ...nothing to see here...
  11. Spot on. I feel exactly the same way. I'm somewhat relieved that the Pompey fans in general seem to feel the same way about him judging by their comments on the Snooze. It would be unbearable if they treated him as a thought leader
  12. No penalty for Villa's Helenius here: [video=youtube;WmiaGds-oXo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmiaGds-oXo
  13. I don't remember doing that second logo. Looks like my work, though!
  14. Is it possible for you to keep this speculation out of the match thread? Thank you.
  15. WBA and Sunderland fans liked their match previews - Liverpool fans not so much. So keep it up
  16. Had the pleasure of seeing Danish side Esbjerg away to Standard Liege on the telly last night. Liege's central defence consisted of none other than Jelle Van Damme and Tal Ben Haim Van Damme looks like a total nutter - bald with a huge beard - and Ben Haim still has those tired eyes... Esbjerg scored and Liege equalised and went for the winner. In the 94th minute Ben Haim passed the ball out of defence and the midfielder miscontrolled it and lost possession. 10 seconds later Esbjerg bagged the winner with the last touch of the game...
  17. What kind of self-expression do you mean?
  18. Danny Fox?
  19. Indeed. He was hired only months before the WC 2006 to lead Togo to glory on the big stage, and he managed to walk out on the team and get reinstated because of financial irregularities before the actual World Cup. At the WC the players went on strike - again because of financial irregularities - but they were persuaded by FIFA to fulfil their fixtures: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/world_cup_2006/teams/togo/5098446.stm They managed to lose all their three group matches at the WC.
  20. Any place for Dean Windass in here?
  21. His twin brother Sven Bender plays for Dortmund - they are both involved with the German national team...
  22. I think you linked to a wrong picture - these are the raisins of the Concordia! (amazing pictures, btw )
  23. Fair enough Mero, and this is how it should be. But as people on here have noted, a large (or visible) part of your fanbase seem to have a need for being biggest/bestest/first at everything, and that doesn't exactly exude the kind of laid-back attitude you have. There is no letting go of the sense of entitlement and embracing the cold facts as they stand today.
