Ha, I just knew it! You bought Wanyama out of your own money, didn't you. I thought we agreed on small presents and then you go and blow £12M on a Kenyan giant... (more seriously: every top team needs more than a good starting XI, and while it is very relevant to discuss the merits of our respective CM's I hope MP can keep all of them happy at SFC)

I should have just written the above instead of that inarticulate crap I posted -
Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa

A really annoying loss with so many "ifs" and "buts"... Individual errors from Yoshida and Cork cost the two goals and I can't remember how we lost the ball for the third, but the finish itself was just one of those that's impossible to stop. Losing Boruc, Clyne, Morgan and Wanyama was a bit too much, but I thought the different makeshift combinations tried their best - for some it worked and for others it was a frustrating evening. Over the years we've seen managers react too late (e.g. Burley and sometimes Adkins) so it was nice to see MP act early. How was he to know that we would suffer 2 injuries (and so very nearly 3 with Lovren after 70 minutes) - rather unlucky coincidence As others have said: this was much more frustrating than the previous defeats because Villa were very ordinary and the stats showed how much we dominated this game. It could so easily have been a 3-1 victory with half a makeshift team and we would all have been happy. Now? Not so much... Oh well, roll on Man City! -

Could #38 be this game? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/1495448.stm

They play in Sondico rather than Kappa this season, don't they?

On the (admittedly very thin!) basis of this, it would seem that Sue Maskell is not willing to give up asking the difficult questions even though Chainrai is gone. Micah Hall was brought into the fold and silenced, but Maskell seems to have more integrity...

Morgan / Tactical explanation of Pochettino's tactics

Very, very interesting, thank you. Could you provide a link for the source? -
I know it's an "easy" explanation, but I tend to see it the same way: Boruc is extremely confident and doesn't panic - this helps him settle the whole defensive line but sometimes it costs a horrible goal where he could have punted it out for a throw in... As long as he generally delivers over the entire season, I can live with a few blunders. I'm expecting that he is actually confident enough to put this behind him and not let it affect his future performances. The Boruc/Cruyff picture would suggest that he is able to deal with it

Champagne Iain will probably call in a pro like Jenson Button to spray champagne at the angry masses keeping them at bay "The bestest have no water? Let them drink champagne"

"Coming soon to a Villain Meter near you"?

It was between that and their recent 2-2 win at St. Mary's

:adore: It's funny cause it's true! No, it's really, really sad cause it's true... Maybe a bit of both?

Will he be back in spring?

Can we put in a joint bid?

Happy days for everyone, as the utterly uninteresting Gaston-debate is fuelled again. Wohoo. Meanwhile, Harrison Reed played 90 minutes in the heart of midfield and Sam Gallagher got his debut(?) for the senior side. Chambers and Ward-Prowse again involved. Not a great match, no, but there are positives if you look beyond the same old arguments... Edit: oh, and they had one of their more important first team players (Giaccherini) injured which shows why the manager sometimes have to make difficult choices with games like these - imagine Lovren or Boruc out injured after tonight?
-
I'm happy that the team is more composed and professional about the game than most people on here. Enjoy - it's a football game!

Begovic. Ripped off the skates for £1M and refused to celebrate the goal out of respect for Boruc. What's not to like about that guy?

Excellent! Lots of great memories from our journey flooding in
