From another thread, but simple message to the recruitment team at Saints - buy some players that are instantly good enough for the first 11, PLEASE. No more "might be good enough" or "potential youngster", I mean yeah, they can be great, but your track record is appalling and when it's worked, we see them for about 3 minutes in a Saints shirt (Lavia, Livramento). Downs might become decent, but right now, we need a striker who is a proper '9' and who will walk into the first 11 and make a difference. Get on it. Best regards.

Exactly how I feel reading this thread. I came away annoyed at the midfield and the poor strike force, but it wasn't a bad match at all like is being made out.

My son (and his year) are 10/11 - the girls are enormous! One of them (who plays football and is really good) is already about 5'8". But yes, different story in the next couple of years.

Looking at it, he plays for a club I've never heard of, probably paid in apples, so Championship salaries will be huge either way and being classic Saints, he'll be sold next season for double (which means we've had a good season from him)

To be fair in that match, I think we had Tella who looked really and also JWP, who looked really good. In fact I just checked, we also had Alcaraz on the pitch too!

I caught the end - another bloody awful penalty, but they've obviously been practising following up the rebound saves as there were at least 2 who could've scored - so fair play, I like that solution.

Looking at the pictures of yesterday's training, is it me or do some of the players look a lot leaner already?? BBD in particular looks in much better shape than last season?
