  1. Magnificent!! Only to be expected from a quality chairman, marvellous manager, incredible coaching staff and a wonderful squad!!!! Enjoy, and lets party on Saturday!!!
  2. Great day out, magnificent support, voice nearly gone!! One more win............ and we are going up, we are going up!!!
  3. Absolutely right, Brighton beat Hudders and we win, going for a comfortable 3-0, and we are going up!!!!!!!
  4. Tickets arrived in the post today...... marvellous!!
  5. Got my tickets in the post today!! Brentford here we come!!!
  6. No I know it was at the end of the game, towards the left hand end of the tearrace. At the final whistle we all moved down to try to get onto the pitch and the wall collapsed. About a 10 foot run came down and a few went over. Dont remember anyone getting injured, a few cuts and bruises. Definitely at the end of the game though.
  7. Was @ Orient in '78 when the draw there was more or less enough to get us promoted. Fantastic support there, Fred D was there covering the game for ITV and was suitably told what we thought of him. Plus the wall coming down at the end, was part of the surge forward to get onto the pitch when it collapsed, great night. Now onto London again to secure our promotion!!!
  8. If Brighton beat Hudders and once we have beaten Brentford we dont even need a point @ Plymouth, its all over!! Our goal difference is 13 better than Hudders atm and will be even better after Saturday, at least 15, so not even Saints could manage to lose a +15 goal difference..... could they???/
  9. The stadium was dreadful....... the terrace was crumbling away, the bogs were simply horrendous, and then the police, just waiting for the English fans to kick off, which of course we didnt and they seemed really dissappointed!! But a truely decrepit stadium..
  10. 3-0 no worries!! Daggers get a draw at Hudders and then we hammer Brentford to win promotion as Hudders draw again against bum bandits!! You heard it first on here, today!!
  11. What and waste drinking time walking between pubs!!!
  12. Absolutely!! Lambert has been outstanding and taken unbelieveable stick from some. He has created so many goals this season as well being the leading goal scorer. Without doubt player of the season.
  13. Any ideas on which pub(s) are any good in the area?? Planning on the 10:00 train getting into Brentford @ 11:52.
  14. All they check is that you are in the correct area of the ground. Have had my son's ticket used, its a young adult, by mates throughout the season and after a couple of games of being honest and telling the guys on the turn styles that it was a young adult ticket and it was being used by an adult they simply said as long as its in the right part of the ground. If worried ask the bloke at the gate.
  15. Mine are on my order history but havent arrived yet..........
  16. Marvellous, another believer!!! Of course we will win the league with 95 points.......
  17. Why are we only talking about 2nd place??? 9 straight wins will give us 95 points........ and i think the league title!! Come on get real you know we can catch Brighton.
  18. ....love it if we could get that 2nd spot, but dreading the playoffs.... with you with this comment, but I DO believe we are going to win every game!! Its the way I always played football, no point turning unless you believe you can win and I do think Saints ought to win the majority of their remaing fixtures. I'd take 12 wins 2 draws and a defeat.
  19. I too, waited to post, getting home and reading the crap posted by the radio listeners......... just couldnt be bothered to post last night. Thought we played some decent stuff at times, the way we worked the openings especialy in the first half was a joy to watch, we simply tore their defence apart, what was in 4 or 5 one on ones with their keeper? Ok all were coming in from the angle and all hit the target with the exception of Hammond hitting the side netting, but we passed the ball through them. We did resort to lumping it in the 2nd half, but we still created chances. As has been said their goal had a charmed life last night. Thought overall we played well for an away team, dominated, created loads of chances, we just didnt finish off the game.......... Still 15 games to go........... it is not over til the fat lady sings!!
  20. I went to the game last night. Hugely dissappointing result. Having read most of this thread it is increditable.... do we have the most negative, depressed, wrist slitting fans in the country???? We did play reasonably well; we created so many chances; it really was a one sided match, we simply could not score. Their keeper made a couple of very good saves, they cleared off the line twice or was it 3 times, and we had numerous shots that were on target, hitting players backsides or any part of their body and the ball bouncing away from the goal. We have 15 games remaining, the margin for error is disminishing but we will still make the second spot. 10 wins, a couple of draws will see us around 84/85 points. We do need to string together a decent run of straight wins to put pressure on the other teams and I expect nothing less than three wins next week. It is not all doom and gloom; it was simply one of those games when we were not going to score; if we had comntinue playing until midnight I doubt we would have scored. Seen it before, played in matches like that before and will no doubt see Saints games like this again. Very dissapointing result, but it is not over yet. Many on here doubted whether we would even reach the play offs after the first 6 or so games, here we are 5th in the league with games in hand that, once we have won, will take us to 2nd in the league. We do have a decent squad. I cannot understand why many criticise Ricky Lambert; he lead the line well last night, as he does in most games, set up numerous chances for others and had two goal bound shots blocked by defenders with the keeper beaten. Harding was not so good, Hammond left a little to be desired and Chaplow was a little inconsistent; Barnard had two gilt edge chances in the first half, both on target both saved by the keeper and resulted in corners. In the 2nd half Barnard's header was cleared off the line. We did lump the ball forward too often instead of playing the ball to feet. This result should be the kick up the arse the players need. Onwards and upwards, automatioc promotion..... no worries!!!!! We'll see
  21. Very sad, too young..... an excellent player for Saints, played with pride, passion, spirit and desire. RIP Deano Deano
  22. Well OldNick, the answer is simple, of course we will!! From the 51 points on offer and looking at the opposition, I would expect a return of around 38 - 40 points. We do not lose often atm, so its a question of turning the away draws into wins. Get a winning run going soon and it'll happen, we'll catch Brighton!! Christ.... must have another beer...........
  23. Why are so many so negative? We have 17 games remaining. Win 12 draw a couple and we will have 2nd spot. Looking at our recent league results, the last 4, 3 of which were away, two wins, two draws, 8 points from a possible 12; the last 10 have given a return of 6 wins, 3 draws, one loss - 21 points. Is that really a bad run? A win on Saturday and three more points on Tuesday and everyone will be happy. Get the 2nd slot and then push on for the top. COYR's
  24. Yep, one of the best!! i was there and remember it well. What a team we had that season. But, we have spoilt over the years; so many wonderful goals........ and more to come!! COYR
  25. We have had our injury spell: Hammond, Lallana, Spiderman, Ricky. Barnard have all had time out already through injury. We have the biggest squad in the league and will cope with the huge number of games to be played.... Playing football twice a week and getting paid for it..... hmmm let me think of something else better to do........ They are paid sportsmen; we have physios, doctors, coaches, dietitians, christ knows what behind the sences and here we are debating whether having to play 3 more games than the rest of the teams is going to be problem???? 3 more games, thats 270 minutes more football, 3 games more than the rest around us!! Weather will be getting better, drier, thus the pitches will play better and suit our style of passing the ball better. Personally I do not think it will be a problem!!!
