  1. Ridiculous thread. Why would Cortesse receive abuse? No one on here knows the real reason why AP was sacked. If the right manager is appointed and when we win the league, who cares?
  2. Just got in after being out all day. Shocked but not surprised. Heard the interview with Merrington and the Radio Solent bloke who both said there were rumours of unrest in the squad with the lack of pre season and other things. Not sure what they went by other things but obviously someting wasnt right. NC would not have done this without having someone lined up. No one knows why this decision has been taken and until someone is appointed we should wait before passing judgement. AP did a good rebuilding job; could he take us to the prem and keep us there? No I do not think he is that good. A manager appointed now with the right experience and money to buy now and when we gain promotion to the fizzy pop and then the prem would be a good move. The names mentioned, Copel, Zola ONeil would all get us there and keep us there and would only come with guarantees of money to spend to strengthen when needed. Wait and see could be the best business we have done for a year. WIFM
  3. Will come as a sub IMO. Would expect him to start in the Paint Brush on Tuesday

  5. Agreed. Saints do not play hoofball. Even in the 2nd half the ball is played along the ground in most cases; it has only been when defenders have panicked has the ball been hoofed or as a last resort to break down defences - mixing up our gamne maybe??
  6. Our saviour!! Oh Dubai Phil you have have saved our beloved AP!!!!!!!!! Next season make sure you come to teh first game of the season
  7. What are you on? It will be 7 straight wins!!! COYR WIFM
  8. Heard this morning that Adam Le Fondre will be signed before Saturday and that we are def tracking Harte. Apparently need Harte to play in central defence with Fonte.
  9. A couple of points: 1 Norwich sacked their manager to turn round tehir season 2 AP has had plenty of time; this is his team. 3 AP has had plenty of time to strengthen the squad; to do so now 4 matches into the season has wasted the pre season. 4 After 2 league matches last season we were 15 points behind the leaders, after 3 we were 18 points I believe that these are correct facts, not sure of the exact date when Norwich sacked their manager but think it was after 2 or 3 games. Like TT I have been watching Saints since the late 60's and even I am growing a little impatient. A win on Saturday will go along way to reduce the pressure but we need a long unbeaten run, consisting mainly of wins in order to stand out against the rest of the league. WIFM
  10. Top, AP in charge with his 4 late August signings all scoring freely!! WIFM
  11. just over 27,007......... WIFM
  12. We have the youngsters rolling out again!!* Gr8 story CWD abd shows that NC and AP know how to treat young up n coming players!
  13. Excellent statement by NC - tells all Saints supporters what we needed to know that the club is safe and will continue in its quest to return to the premiership. The comments about funding are all speculation - no one knows, nor are likely to know as the company that owns Saints is privatley owned. Go to companies house and gain the latest accounts, probably not available yet as the company was only formed last year. In any case Markus was a businessman and a very good one, there is no way that he would not have funded or had the funding in place for the club. The company that owns SFC will undoubtedly now belong to the family as indicated by NC. Markus was a one off, he saved SFC and we are all truely sadden by his passing; but we must now get behind NC and the team to play our part in taking the club back to the premiership.
  14. We'll know on Saturday evening.......
  15. Heard it was over 27k sold including ST's....... So if there was a good walk up on Saturday may reach 30K
  16. Markus was definitely at the game, apparently he did not feel well and chose to sit in a box with some close friends.
  17. Sad, sad days.... RIP Markus, a true Saint and one that we will never forget.
  18. Well 135 minutes without scoring, something I would not have believed could have happened. We do so desparately need some pace and wide players...... and RL back to full fitness
  19. Apline I could become as negative as you if this carries on!!
  20. Christ they even hit the bar
  21. A little depressing this! A strong Saints team and we can create.
  22. What I cannot understand is why is there so much negative comment and criticism about our club, the chairman, the lack of new players etc., etc. We are in the best financial position for many decades; have someone runing the club with sound business pedigere and with the backing of a billionaire; we have a manager that is respected throughout football circles; we have probabaly the best squad within this division and still so called supporters find nothing but doubt and negative comments to make about our club. Why? FFS get behind the club, the manager, the team and enjoy what promises to be the most exciting and rewarding season since 02/03. COYR's
  23. Martyn, never mind mate, I'll have a couple of beers for you with breakfast @ the waterfront!! At least its warm in Florida, for August its f$%^ing cold here!! Cheers mate
  24. Alpine has a point, we do have aweaker squad than last season at the moment. With the 4 out injured, last season we would have had Papa, Antonio to come in plus one or two others that have been released and not replaced. I can understand resting Spiderman and Ricky if they have slight knocks but the injuries to AL and Puncheon are a huge worry, as Alpine said we have no width without them. We need at least 2 or 3 more players this week and probably 5 by the 31st.
  25. Not worried, more signings will happen very soon ......
