Crikey, now us oldies will have to teach the kids about useful apps for your smartphone.. Joking aside, it was far too loud where I sit, and distorted to boot. I've stewarded at rock concerts at Wembley Stadium and Arena, Pink Floyd at Hammersmith and bands like The Stranglers at smaller venues. That was my choice and I wore ear protection - could still feel the bass. At a football ground people aren't going there to listen to loud music, there are kids there with more sensitive ears, and it really isn't a question of old fogies not liking the music. I've still got my hearing and want to keep it that way.

Yes, I was making the same points to my neighbours. There was no chance of the crowd making or contributing to any sort of atmosphere, and singing would have been useless. East Kent Saint, thanks and let us know the response, cheers.

if it's the BBC weather app you're looking at, which forecasts 50, I think they give wind in KPH. I bloomin' well hope so. Still windy enough to give Southern Railways reason to delay and a Pulis team to hit it high into the box to enable Forster to show off his command of the 6 yard area. The Guardian write up: "9) More goals from Gabbiadini? The battle between 10th-placed West Bromwich Albion and 11th-placed Southampton is almost certainly the one they’re all talking about."..

To be fair to the residents, the comments in The News were pretty scathing of the idea, and the suggestion for thousands of flats (and some came to the same conclusion as Chez). Others pointed out how run down Commercial Road is, and the absence of restaurants etc. Apart from getting the car ferry to the IOW I'd avoid driving in. Getting to the Dockyard, Mary Rose etc. is far better by train for me.

Good analysis, particularly your point about Boufal as well. I had possibly a pint or two more than normal before the game, so I may have been a bit louder than normal bellowing: 'Forster, you're allowed to use your hands!" when he was once again static on his line for a takeable cross. I also took umbrage at someone behind me who was having a go at Boufal before he'd even had a chance. The only players who really impressed me were Lemina and Gabbiadini although I definitely think Bouffal is getting better: Long for all his effort was having a particularly bad game. VVD seems to stroll around looking effortless even when he should be making an effing effort. The trip home on the train was fun - I managed to find a bit of floor space to sit on but scores were standing. I must remember not to get to the pub quite so early with the 5.30 kick off next week or who knows where my language might end up! :-)

Their fans can, though.

A mass boycott seems like a good idea and if it happens and I were an Arsenal supporter I'd join in.

I have to admit I selfishly looked at the fixture list I have handy and note he'll probably miss our away match on the 18th November.

Well, just got home via a music jam session in the other village pub. Two guys in Pompey shirts, and other supporters beside, so I made a joke about 'so you're here to watch two crap games this afternoon'. They didn't disagree, and I was right..
-
Pample! You're not actually watching, are you?! I'm wandering down my local pub (in a PO area) in 20 minutes or soto watch the England game. There will no doubt be a residue of skates hanging around, I'll have to ask their opinion. :-)

Well, don't worry, you won't be criticised for passion and ambition. Possibly for snide criticism and negativity and being a bit of a ******.

Carlton Palmer could trap a ball further than I can pass it.
-
Well, they won without him. 1-0 Sam McQueen pen.

Oh, MLG... We know, he knows, it was a joke line-up.

I've always needed a beer or two before a game but risking being forced to drink their stuff would ensure I arrived rolling. Now if they could put a barrel of something decent on stillage I might be interested in having a drink inside St. Mary's for the first time ever.. I definitely get noisier after a few.
-
Talking of penalties, wasn't Targett's sweetly taken? I also like it how good his control is when he receives the ball. Other points I noted, apart from Stoke's robust cr*pness, were VVD getting a good run out but hardly breaking sweat, Bednarek looked composed at that level, Tella looks sharp and pacy and Pied made loads of forays well up the field. No going through the motions from anyone.

I didn't know where to post this, but I thought I might as well put it here rather than on the Koeman thread: https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2017/sep/19/david-squires-cartoon-harry-redknapp-football-managers-early-season-troubles
