  1. It appears from the interview that he's impressed with our training set-up and he's under no illusion that he'll go straight into the first team. It'll be good to have a player who doesn't sulk if not picked..
  2. In other contract news, can someone PM Steve Grant to give me access? I paid last week...
  3. You can imagine Heisenberg as a young kid: "Are we there yet?" every 5 minutes. You can imagine Heisenberg in the old people's care home. "Can I go home?", every five minutes. In the meantime us lot here suffer. Does he work, as he posts an inordinate number on here. Mind you, you could say that about Trousers and I believe he works, in London. Perhaps there are reasons for the UK's low productivity..!

  5. Not having a telly and hence no TV licence I tend to wander down the pub if there's a game I want to watch (Saints away and a few others). But as you point out there is no such option for many games anyway. I spend enough money and time on football (play Sunday as well) that I'm not going to wander down to my local non-league team if 3 o'clock kick offs were available, and it certainly won't impact viewing figures, as you point out. It's the 'illegal taping' paranoia all over again when some research showed it actually stimulated music sales.

  7. I see what you mean. Difficult to argue with that, but he must be carring half a kilo in weight up there..
  8. Miaow.. Rallyboy, how we've all missed your beechiness. :-)
  9. Could I add "Scoring from our penalties?"
  10. You made me laugh. Mind you, I'm laughing _at_ AS..
  11. I think only players are allowed Gratuitous Shirt Holding Pictures. They might rustle round and find an old training top with MP on it..
  12. I keep getting a Disney animated film advert when I'm playing Scrabble on my tablet. It's due for release sometime next month and it involves lots of car crashes: perhaps that's it?
  13. Funnily enough that's what he's being praised for tonight..
  14. Some snippets from The Guardian match feed tonight: "...the overlapping Cedric. The Southampton man delivers a brilliant cross to the back post," and "39 min: Cedric has kept Sanchez extremely quiet. The Southampton man was linked with a move to Barcelona in this morning’s Rumour Mill … Football transfer rumours: Barcelona eyeing Southampton’s Cédric Soares? Read more"
  15. I thought before that he looked a bit uncoordinated, as if he hadn't finished growing, and I believe FF confirmed that here. One of his managers in the press during a loan spell mentioned a growth spurt as well. So I continue in my policy to not immediately write-off players if they don't start as the finished article!
  16. I'm only replying to this as I had too many beers at the football club annual presentation, and now winding down with another one at home. Our current capacity may well be appropriate, but I'd love to know what opinion CBFry expressed when we announced a 32k stadium after being at The Dell with 14.5 k. The problem is that said poster is a reactionary, miserabilist old fart (at least in thinking) who thinks himself a sensible antidote to the dreamers and optimists. The sheer wearisome ennui he expresses leads me to think he should really go and load 6 rounds into a Webley and go off to play Russian roulette.
  17. Shut up me ol' grapefruit, The9 will take you seriously... :-)
  18. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/22/crystal-palace-offer-frank-de-boer-manager-job-mauricio-pellegrino In The Guradian re FdB.. Ignore OttawaSaint. ;-)
  19. This is how Bayern are dealing with the issue: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/21/bayern-munich-warn-clubs-robert-lewandowski-bids-fifa
  20. Are we going to do a sweepstake as to where they'll finish?
  21. Has RL still got a house in the area? I thought part of the reason for the move up North was family? Anyway, if he does join Eastleigh he should play more, and I think that's what he wants: it certainly won't be for the money. Eastleigh may get a few more bums on seats. And for all the talk of goals he had an underrated ability to bring other players into the game.
  22. Cheers! Good pass by JWP, took out the whole defence.
  23. According to the BBC text feed: "James Ward-Prowse must never have been closer to a place in the centre of England's midfield. The options are not exactly massive for Gareth Southgate."
  24. He is on most things..
