  1. All have some of what you've been drinking...
  2. Which one did you go in? The Rat and Ratchet was very good - see earlier in the thread.. I stayed the night with friends near Halifax and many of the pubs had TT Landlord, so I was happy. It was a long drive back on the Sunday though, even if traffic was fine. There's been a few OTT comments on here. It wasn't the worst game ever, we got a point and could have nicked it, but a draw was a reasonable result. We'd have done better against Arsenal, I reckon! There's still a confidence issue with the whole team, but I can see signs of snappier movement and forward passing, but only in patches. Huddersfield seemed to be relying on their team spirit and promotion momentum. Friendly fans though, and I hope they stay up. Suggestions for relegation.. West Ham? Crystal Palace? Arsenal? ;-)
  3. Messengers around here get hung, drawn and quartered. Not by me, I hasten to add. :-)
  4. Well, I'm rewarding myself with another Landlord at the station whilst waiting for my train as the football was so crop.. Stephens had a bad game and gave the ball away or into touch too many times. Bertrand doesn't seem to enjoy playing football and Redmond is just not very good, often outpaced and out muscled and choosing the wrong ball. As a team we were outfought and they got many of the second balls.JWP played well when he came on and made some good runs, kept himself and the ball moving. But we've somehow got to give Gabbiadini more support and service.
  5. TT Landlord, Kings Head £3.10...
  6. Aren't you assuming a bit?
  7. King Rat £3.15 a pint. In footballing news the Huddersfield fans I spoke to would be happy with a point: "first decent team we've met"..
  8. Pint of Sepp Ratter £3. I'm going to get half cut doing research for John B.
  9. My pint of White Rat cost me £2.75. When I asked where it was brewed he said "6 feet below you".. I imagine most Saints fans will be nearer the centre and I might stroll via the pub at the station. I'm not wearing colours, home or away, but I've got my scarf in my bag just to annoy the super cool guys.
  10. Having my first pint in the Rat and Ratchet brewpub. I'll think about formations and line ups after a couple... Last time I was here we lost 3-1. If we can reverse that I'll be happy..
  11. I'm already up in Yorkshire and today I thought I was going to blank a day's fishing but caught a 2lb trout with my last cast, so I'm going with a one nil last minute win with a goal from an unexpected player. Hmm, that doesn't really narrow it down much, does it?
  12. If he wasn't going to get the ball (and I don't think he would have got an on-target header) there was no need to push him, was there? So back to the defender making a stupid mistake... You could say it was a soft penalty to -give away - but it was West Ham being generous, not the ref.
  13. Well, effing teach them the songs then.
  14. I'm sure you will at some stage. I can suggest a number of venues, but you'll need a few games to decide your favourite, and after a few pints you should be disinhibited enough to make a noise too. If you have a half of Russian Imperial Stout in The Platform you might also want to get on the pitch too, although I always forget to take my boots.... I might even buy you a pint in one of the cheaper pubs. ;-) After the game The Guide Dog is always a pretty good bet.
  15. Yes, my seat will be available as I'll be on my way to Huddersfield via visiting friends and some trout fishing in the dales. Overheard the chat on the Brighton train home last night and no one going, the prospect of extra time and Southern Rail not an attractive thought.
  16. That's the impression I got too. Redmond also seemed lethargic in the second half. I thought Gabbiadini was fine but playing a bit deep at times. Lamina had a decent debut, a few misplaced passes to start with, but good physicality. Cedric will one day get a goal but he needs to learn not to lean back... Yoshida made some good tackles but in the air...hmm. We made hard work of that but thank goodness goals, a win and points.
  17. Maggie May, they have taken her away... So bad that Trousers didn't even give a score.
  18. Cheers, Angelman I've only just noticed your reply. The idea of a loan abroad is a good one, and a great life experience. Mind you, Blackburn was probably an equivalent culture shock!
  19. Yeah, you're right, read it in a hurry and a spirit of optimism!
  20. I do like the phrase in that article "Southampton digging their heels in like a toddler on the first day of nursery,".. So can we say things like "Liverpool grooming VVD by promising him sweeties"..?
  21. It looks like it's wait and see time. First visible change, more chinese advertising round the perimeter boards, next season's pre-season tour to include HK/China? I've got enough savings to buy a brand new car (not that I ever would) but if I were to do so I almost certainly wouldn't raid my very productive savings but would get it on cheap finance. Similarly if the club is burdened with the cost of debt servicing let's hope it'll be at a good rate because the borrower is good for the money.
  22. The report says he's already met his teammates, so he's been to Staplewood, I imagine. Has Ulrich van Gobbell been sleeping on the job?;-) Or perhaps he slipped in via the Portsmouth ferry..
  23. It's quite amusing but sad reading this thread as you can pretty much tell from the rest of their posts elsewhere in the forum who doesn't get it. The "I don't care if they're gay, but I don't want to know" mob, who then spend an inordinate number of posts trying to convince you that they're OK with it. I'm not going to tell you I'm lesbian as that would be attention seeking, but I'm going to show this thread to my girfriend when she comes round tomorrow night and we'll have a laugh together..
  24. I believed that, but then noticed it wasn't Grouch you'd written.
  25. I'm hoping for a quick snig ger or two.
