The Echo - how much lower can they stoop?

Well, you seem to be, but you do like a good wallow in misery. -
Well, I'm just going to bed, and I've had worse dreams... :-)

Well, my bias is obviously towards Italy and although I haven't been to Rome for years I grew up there. The coach to school every day was like a tour of the monuments. But stay in the middle and you can just walk and walk and see something at every corner. Torino is a bit nearer and might be worth considering, although again I'm biaised as I have a friend who lives there and lived an hour or so away. But it's another place to walk around, coach trips to the surrounding towns (Alba,Asti if you like your wines..), and the Alps in view in the distance..

Dunno, but does anyone else think grass might be regularly involved in Rallyboy's flights of fancy?! ;-)

The literate one..

Ch***t! Are Dubai taxi drivers that well informed? I thought they only knew about golfers, or am I getting confused? Aldi Old Vine Garnacha to blame...

Perhaps there's a connection: new era of more responsible lending, and all that?. I understand that the lenders these days look at all your spending habits...

I thought you were joking.... until I checked. Isn't a shame we don't even have make stuff up!

It's OK, I think nits count: so Ipswich on loan...

Can you boys take your argument to PM please? Nobody else is interested in playground name calling. Thanks.

According to this article he was released from Chelsea when he was 8! http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/23/luke-shaw-world-cup-england-southampton-brazil

Well, at least we know what gets through the prudish censor! Mablethorpe is OK but S****horpe isn't; it must be a real pain if you live in the latter town.

Why not? It may not happen, but if there's one thing we've learnt in our climb from League 1, it's that players do improve given time, experience and opportunity. Midfield is a difficult place to play, and he may have a slow to mature physique: he's certainly strengthened over the past year.

Thanks for reminding me, just had my statement so now safe. It is a very big line on my budget though, and I'm on a limited income although hope to hear good news next week about some temporary work. I also get annoyed when they change to Sundays at short notice: plenty of us here also involved with amateur football. So yes, renewal not dependent on the stars playing for us: I remember Speedie, Dixon, Perry Groves, Paul Moody - need I go on?! PS: I forgive Paul Moody for at least being a trier...

Old fart! Er.. can you make it 4 pages...

Seems reasonable, what you said. I'd also add that Lallana (for example) might also be more disposed to stay if his pay is increased. He'll certainly have a better idea of his own worth now.

My niece supports the 'U's and lives on the south coast. I'll warn her about Fratton Park if she plans to visit: I don't mean the crowd but the state of the ground and the loos...

Adrift on brown stuff creek without a paddle...
suewhistle replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Well, at least this thread has made me laugh. The only problem is, although I've been told there is a physical resemblance I can't see the OP being comforted. Nothing will persuade him of the rightness of his own views, and he never admits to being wrong, in spite of many such occurences.. -

Nah, the adverb should be 'well'. -
Glad I read the whole thread...

ooh, b!tch.. :-) -
That's what I was thinking: they'll have been keeping a close eye on his muscular-skeletal development as he might be a later developer even though or because he's so tall. I watched the video and had to smile at the under-18 footage as he looked so young: he still does, but it was noticeable that he's changed. A pre-season with the first team and the experience of this year will all stand him in good stead, and I think he could end up being quite a handful for defences, and he's got a bit of pace too.

On the pitch? Only if Guly scores...

To be honest, that's a better return than I got on my Southampton shares, although my investment was a little less..
