  1. It does remind one of some of the more [most?] illiterate contributions in The News' blogs. He may not be a skate but we certainly appreciate being reminded of the hilarious issues pompey currently have in the transfer market.
  2. Genuine loud cackling laughter time; fortunately I'd already swallowed my last bit of tea. Which reminds me.. Wilkinsons are doing spare plug and play USB keyboards at £5.30: you wouldn't want to type a book with it, but it's fine for this post. Quite a useful precautionary tool for when reading this thread although I got mine as laptop was playing up.
  3. B****r, brought my boots and spare gloves over on holiday in case I could get to train with the local women's side in mum's town, but I didn't bring my shin pads.. So don't you forget yours!
  4. I hope Bolton are getting their expenses/promised payment in advance....
  5. Will the kinky nurse's uniform fit me?
  6. Gotta luv The Sun, half the article consists of his name!
  7. I've been giving this guy secret whistle and flute lessons: he _said_ he was Steve Davis, in fact when I went into the room he was repeatedly saying "I am Steve Davis, Oim Steve Davis". Hmmm
  8. Interesting. It's a pre-season friendly and it sometimes difficult to gauge things, but JWP looks the part. Wasn't sure if the initial formation/lack of ambition was a realistic assessment of how we could be up against it occasionally in the prem and needed to practise absorbing pressure, but we've changed it and improved things. Clyne looks useful, "Julie" doing some good things, Lambert (I agree) looks a bit heavy but we know how it takes him time to get fit. Who knows what will happen in the second half, but it does suggest we're better than Celtic - perhaps that's not saying much...
  9. Cheers! Working!
  10. [shh, I was going to use in on Phil...]
  11. Mmmm, stylish! Why, thank you, DP! [Now where's me fish-filleting knife..] ;-)
  12. Yah rude b****r, I'm positively sylph like compared to pictures of various golfing personages I've seen!;-) Can't imagine Thai markets catering for fat Germans, British or (gulp) 'Mericans don't have large sizes... So what did you beat them down too then?
  13. The bit from Kanu's statement I like was "is willing to compromise significantly by a combination of waiving/deferring his entitlement provided he is certain the club will actually be saved and there will be an upside at some date in the future." Remarkably percipient! They've noted that any promise involving a CVA is not worth the paper it's written on..nor can chinny be guaranteed to maintain the existance of the club beyond the next parachute payment. (Which is when, incidentally?)
  14. The Portsmouth virus: "the former Birmingham City and Portsmouth player Aliou Cissé, accused Team GB of hypocrisy for complaining about the treatment they received in the game. "I'm surprised to hear that, coming from Great Britain. They are well known for their physicality and fighting spirit, not Senegal," he said. "I can't say I saw a bad tackle on the pitch. All I saw was my players trying to get the ball in a fair way. There was absolutely no bad tackles on the pitch." Bestest fans, not our fault, absolutely no bad tackles... aargh, it's catching.
  15. That's odd. Turkish so often posts just after me, sometimes I think I've got a stalker.
  16. £50 a ticket... hmm. But as I only get to see a few matches a season when I'm over I'm prepared to do so. I'll head up north, staying with various friends on the way and take in the match. Have a night out in Mancs on the Saturday.... So any season ticket holder who won't be going prepared to help me out?
  17. "Benders"? How quaint, although I've always thought Hypo is on the internet too much to be vanilla, probably whacking off to pictures of young ladyboys, or lesbian twosomes. Haven't been on them for years, but it's amazing how many "straight" men go on dyke chat-rooms.:-)
  18. They were going on about not getting the medal ceremonies wrong.... Perhaps we should try it against Brazil on Tuesday, fly the Portuguese flag, or summat...
  19. I'd keep one suit back, if I were you.:-) miaow.. I'm sipping bubbles too: birra Splugen at 75p the 2/3l bottle. Too hot for wine at the moment. Mind you, plenty of wine in the cellar: been round 3 vineyards and 18 bottles from each, one more cellar to go. It'll be a heavily laden car...
  20. The ground where my women's team play, right in the middle of an old roman town... mind you the ground is showing it's age too, and the floodlights have had it... Good pitch though, which, looking at the photo I'm sure has since been widened... We play different tactics at home! http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&channel=np&biw=1066&bih=603&tbm=isch&tbnid=6v_-L765IHSLHM:&imgrefurl=http://www.footballzz.com/estadio.php%3Fid%3D8291&docid=UPeX1-ombLVAsM&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.footballzz.com/img/estadios/836/15836_ori_mario_puchoz.jpg&w=799&h=315&ei=hjkQUInaL--N4gTD7oC4Ag&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=432&vpy=172&dur=30&hovh=141&hovw=358&tx=173&ty=82&sig=113871016162416048423&page=1&tbnh=63&tbnw=159&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0,i:85
  21. Nothing on my usual site, but I'll post here if I find anything. PS: Do channel 5 broadcast? I've found Expat Shield very effective...
  22. Good point The Kraken. Save a bit of money for when they need it again! Perhaps spend the money on a new state-of-the-art training centre!:-)
  23. Trousers, you're an old cynic.
