Team coach all the way there under football club control? Bit harsh, I know, but it's best to avoid environments you can't control. Loads of poorly paid hotel service staff who can't afford to isolate and lose their jobs if they have even minor symptoms?
-
Bit like in Italy; you can always recognise Fascist era public buildings..

I'm not as down as I can sometimes be after a game as the performance was generally good: Vest, KWP and Walcott in particular, but Redmond seems to lack all confidence. Djenepo was more of a danger for us, at least he takes on players and gets to the by-line. I'd echo the comments on the ref: how come their full back didn't get booked for the foul on Walcott who had turned him? The nippers had a difficult game to play in but Tella put in a couple of lovely crosses and they'll feel all the better for being given the chances, and they'll now know a bit more about what is needed at this level.

Oh, f**k me, it's 'Arry on commentary

Hmm, now you know why I don't bet on football!

I was just thinking that we've got a stronger bench than earlier in the season and then I saw theirs.. Think it's wise to rest Armstrong a bit; he's still available from the bench.

Behave! 🙂

Cheers, but I now can't go as I'm in tier 3.. Hopefully that will change again soon...
-
Me too! At least if you contact the ticket office they will arrange a refund.. Posted elsewhere but for information.. Please be aware that if you live in an area that has been placed in Tier 3 of the government’s local restriction tier system, including Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant and parts of Surrey, you will not be able to attend this match. Please email tickets@saintsfc.co.uk to arrange a refund.

Yep. I'm just a couple of hundred yards from West Sussex but am in Havant Borough and my ticket is already printed. As it happens my ladies team were due to play a Southampton based team on Sunday and that has been called off due to _them_ having a case of Covid.. So do I out myself to the club, will someone else get the chance to go? If they don't everybody loses out. A slight legal and moral dilemma.. Important edit: just seen this in an email, so at least I get a refund..: Please be aware that if you live in an area that has been placed in Tier 3 of the government’s local restriction tier system, including Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant and parts of Surrey, you will not be able to attend this match. Ta. How far is that to walk?! I was thinking a little bit closer with only 2000. I sometimes walk back along the St. Denys riviera to park there and be the right side of town to get away quickly. It'll just be great being there although I'm steeling myself for disappointment.
-
I shall be there. I will sing, please help anybody else in bloomin' row Z! It might be difficult being sober, singing, and watching Saints, but at least I'll get home quickly if I'm driving and not relying on Southern Railways. Incidentally, has anyone any recommendations as to where to park free with only 2K in the ground and having to get there early just after 2 for the Covid regs?

Take it: money to chosen charity and winners all round..
-
Disappointed, obviously, but isn't it great that we're disappointed! We had our chances, Djenepo's cutback was good, for example. I can take being dissatisfied with only 3rd place. A vaccine or two and another trip into Europe seems a perfectly good fantasy to keep us all going through these shi**y times..
-
Isn't it great to have sub options..
-
Thanks. Ticket printed off but in the less than ideal back of block 27 needing binoculars compared with my normal Itchen seat. Driving instead of train, not meeting friends and bottled beer* when I get home instead of pre-match pub anaesthesia will make it a strange experience. At least it's a 3 o'clock KO. Promise to make a noise though!:-) * or celebratory prosecco..

Think have too, but it doesn't explicitly say you have succeeded in the ballot but "thank you for booking" etc. Need to go to my account to confirm. If I do hope I'm not Ms. Kiss O'Death for the result.. Edit: now I'm not sure. What is the format of the email/your booking page if you have been successful - there's no ticket available for me to download?
-
I know, I know.. Decent logic though!
-
I'm just about to lay my stove with extra kindling for when I get in. How satisfying will that be!
-
It's foul, wet, windy, and dark out there and I'm glad I didn't win in the ballot for today. I hope the dismal northern weather doesn't favour Sheffield. On the other hand I'm playing this afternoon so either way will get wet and cold; and muddy..
-
Even a step ladder would have helped..

Not sure if there's a mechanism for dealing with individual games like that. I can't make the Sheffield game on the Sunday as it's our first game back in local football so told them, as I still want to be in the draw for subsequent games in the next tranche. "If you are selected for a game and you are unable to attend, you will not receive a refund for that fixture as the Season Ticket terms and conditions will be in place. Your name will be in the ballot for every home Premier League fixture." Missing the point that the tickets are not transferable and if I'm unable to go that will be one less in the stadium. Chances are I won't be successful but I suppose they are faced with a big administrative burden at the moment to be able to deal with individual cases. I'm just a bit 'meh' about it all.
-
True, and although I like Armstrong I can't help feeling Covid has taken the edge off his game, although you'd assume the sports science staff would be keeping an eye on his basic health and stats. But I didn't bother to comment on the match reaction thread as the point had already been made: Long and Cavani..
-
Yes, I like him too but the moment that turnover occurred I thought 'oh no', and these incidents do colour your views. Just a bit too ambitious in the wrong place, but it's not a fundamental weakness. The fact that many of us are both happy and disappointed with the draw does indicate progress is being made!

Traore is worrying. We have a very attacking bench.
