I think so, but that it's difficult if you aren't prepared for it! I seem to recall some years ago now that a pilot on a rear three engined aircraft (DC-10/tristar?) was able, following mechanical failure to alter the attitude of the nose by adjusting the relative power to the lower 2 and upper single engine. I'm not sure that could ever be anticipated by a program. Ultimately I think I'd be happier for a human to intervene after accurately identifying the problem (i.e. not Captain Keys or the Air France disaster..).

It's worth what someone will pay for it. Obviously not £1200, or £700 for that matter. -
Yep, looks like the house has been gussied up by a professional scattering a few clothes and shoes around. So where's he actually living? The furnishings, I thought, made it look a bit like I imagine a high class brothel might be. The sort Trump would like.

The Guardian feed of the match finished with a tongue in cheek comment: "Tadic looked good, perhaps some premiership club should take a punt on him"..(I forget the exact words)

_I_ have an agenda? You write the agenda and then doctor the minutes. Many, including myself have been saying he is rapidly improving. None of us are saying he is the finished article, but we haven't dismissed him like you have..

You are consistently negative and if anybody shows an ounce of positivity you denounce them as "Happy Clappers". He's young, to my mind (and many others) he's improving, and he's being given the opportunity to do so. What would you prefer, buying ready made players we can't afford, or ones that we can afford but aren't quite good enough?

Did you notice who was playing for Fulham last night? One Calum Chambers, for whom Arsenal splashed out £16m at one stage, so I don't know why you are scoffing at the suggestion. Whether, like Chambers, he'll make it all the way is another matter.

Not in my part of the Itchen, and there's often a few absent around me. Kingsland opposite looked pretty full too; the gaps were in the away end and Family centre, which is as you'd expect on a week day night.

Speak for yourself sweetheart. I haven't read everything she has written but a lot appears to be crap. I'm aware of 4 transwomen in the local football I play in: tier 6 and 7 so the lowest there is. I've only heard disparaging comments from the touch line, none whatsoever from any player, nor any complaints about them playing. We leave that to the snowflake guys.

Looks like this thread called it right at the beginning. What _was_ he thinking? What was the hurry? What was in it for him: hours building? I can only comment from a sailing point of view, but depending on the boat, crew etc. you always err on the side of caution in marginal conditions. So Lion Air looks like one to avoid. I'll raise you a PIA, in'shallah. Any more to avoid?

Ooh, the other member of the boy's tag team has arrived. I'll have to guess the content, but I suspect it won't be about Southampton Women's football team. I might be so bold as to guess he's having a go at me in some way.

Yes, Hypo, hence my genuine interest in the subject and posting on the thread. Your contribution is just your usual right wing bullying negativity and has absolutely no connection with this thread. We all know you're a deeply unpleasant individual so there's no need to confirm it at every opportunity.

I recall Hurlock did the player questionnaire in one Saint's programme. Greatest dislike was "a dodgy pint". He appears to have been somewhat experienced in the drinking stakes.

Blimey, that's some commitment. Thanks for your insight. When I retired early at 50 I trained twice a week for a team, but it was a bit late by then!

Thanks for post Monk. Yep, I play in a local grassroots league and thank goodness for revolving subs (!). There are plenty of players who know what they are doing, but to be polite, quite a number who don't..

Nepotism has certainly always been around in all walks of life but there's a difference between giving somebody a leg up or first chance compared with long term support for incompetence, as in AP's case.

Interesting article in The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/feb/17/everythings-a-little-too-cosy-in-footballs-game-of-family-fortunes Relevance to Saints? Well, not mentioned in the article was the two years that Anthony Pulis spent at our club. Who can possibly forget him?

I popped in to the pub on the way back from the shops this morning, saw that they were 2-0 up and had a goal disallowed as I looked, so I didn't think there were any laughs to be had from staying in a Pompey supporting pub and having a pint. Oh me of little faith..

Parking for the football and parking charge notices
suewhistle replied to saintmatt's topic in The Saints
Yep, as mentioned Pepipoo and the dedicated MSE forum are very useful and will help with any appeal, but read their information first. If you ever get caught by ANPR cameras there is also a question of privacy involved; how long they keep the information, how they justify getting it from the DVLA, and even charging when you don't actually end up parking, as you are allowed a grace period to get out your magnifying glass, step ladder and shears so that you can read their signage. Remember that contract law applies in these cases and it's a charge not a fine. I was once fined in a Soton CC car park as I thought it was free after a certain time of night but appealed to the council, sent a cheque for the actual charge and I was let off. As the car park was one full in the day with office trade and virtually empty I'd have thought they'd want to encourage business as there was little or no marginal cost in providing the parking space free. I normally rail in for matches but as it's Southern not always... -
Callum Slattery - Official: Signs for Motherwell
suewhistle replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Well, you can self-identify as a dripping tap if you want. Others above have replied in more detail, but given he was playing for various reasons outlined I think comments should relate to his game, not whether he should have been playing in the first place. -
Thanks for er.. verbalizing exactly what I was thinking. No point commenting further.

It's not criticism per se but how it's couched. So when Shurlock, for example, says his fitness was lacking a bit I take it seriously as he is a poster with a useful contribution to make. Also there is no hint of eternal damnation like some on here, but would seem to be an area of improvement. It's constructive criticism, in other words. Others here I just finished incredibly tiresome with their attitudes, no names no pack drill, but they're like dripping taps. -

I don't. Haven't seen the game yet, but it seems most people are saying, and I paraphrase, reasonable performance for his starting debut and looking forward to improvement. I wonder if Ralph kept him on when he was tiring to show him exactly what it was like, and to underline the need for fitness improvements. -
Targets like Carillo, I take it.
