They've got as far as saints: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/07/premier-league-201920-preview-no-16-southampton

Oh good. Thank you..
-
Well, at least the game won't impact their league position. You might have told us it's the EFL cup; I had to check!

I'd agree with this, and with Angelman's comment that he knows he wasn't good enough. It struck me he looked miserable because he wasn't contributing and struggled to do so. Not sure what the answer is, but having not seen him in any pre-season games or noticed him in any training photographs he must definitely be on his way. At least he will understand the reason for being moved on, unlike Charlie Austin, who doesn't. Having seen Che Adams in action underlined how little the latter contributed last season.

Presumably Benoit B?

What's the use of worrying? It never was worthwhile, so... Altogether now..
-
No, you'll only see that on the Burnley boards..
-
I thought that at the time, and he flopped rather dramatically but having just watched the replay there actually is far more contact than I thought, and less shoulder, more like a sandwich.
-
Anybody who knows him from here wouldn't invite him..
-
I'd agree with that. Nobody had a bad game although Ings still looks off the pace. It was an enjoyable watch and a complete contrast to last year's final friendly which was an accurate gauge of how we performed under Hughes..
-
Let's hope some of their fans pop over for a bit of a holiday trip like ours did to Feyenoord, taking advantage of the weak £. A friend and I got our tickets yesterday and missed out on the cheap prices for ST holders, but this time of year nobody wants to commit early. I was going on a sailing trip that fell through and likewise I'm sure they'll be a bit of a walk up of others who haven't decided earlier.

So that we can all avoid it..
-
Shhh, we're trying to make this go viral...
-
But not going to be tempted in opening this one: by its very presence indicating this is one sad individual, even if it turns out to be actually relevant to the topic.

Wouldn't mind the Czech version of the latter. But US Budweiser is crap and drinkers of it around here seem to be unable to get their bottles in the bottle bank. They get to the place and then leave the cases next to the bins. Ah, I see Turkish has posted immediately after me: a bet with myself that it will be offensive. View post, and I was right. I won't bother the mods but he really is an nasty bullying *osser who plays the player not the ball.

I note that the China squad were in and out, played their game and kept on the same body clock time all the way through. Some of the other top teams have done far more travelling than us, so I'm not too worried about the impact. Feyenoord were a step up, at least, and as RH said helped the learning process. We all know already about our defensive frailties, so here's hoping on that front. No Austin or Lemina, so perhaps they'll take the hint and take whatever offer comes their way. In the second half we gave the ball away a bit cheaply and rather too many fouls, but it was our second string. Nice to see Vokins (?) at full back has a bit of pace even if raw and although just a friendly Boufal's goal was well taken and he gradually got into the game after a slowish start. He certainly started drawing the fouls well and let's hope it all helps his confidence.

"Ings loses the ball"..

I think about the only time I've had a pint was when Ralph bought me one.. I probably have enough before and possibly after the game in local pubs to worry too much. Mind you if they had a few barrels of ale on stillage I might try a pint, but anything else makes me burp too much and I don't like the taste. They could have division of labour, one pouring as quickly as possible and another taking the money and handing the drink over. Vouchers would also help.
-
Talking of which, no Slattery in the squad for tomorrow? Consensus?
-
You don't have to have been on t'net that long to realise that on any subject under the sun you'll get thread drift unless you have an intolerant mod like Mr Kalgushki on Dave's ESL Cafe.. It wasn't so bad in 1994 when I started as bandwidth was so limited everybody took care not to abuse it. A quick 'meh' suffices for me these days, and the odd blocked poster.

For LOLs I just looked up the News match report. Factless Allen is still an appalling and sycophantic writer..
-
... and I remember Branfoot!
-
At least Romeu has turned up in today's pics: perhaps he's been injured as he appears to be training alone. Perhaps he had too good a holiday in San Sebastian hitting the pintxos or more likely some banal injury. I prefer the first idea though.
-
That I'd agree with. I never had cause to doubt his work ethic, although you could see the frustration in his body language, and decision making at times was a bit awry, but look at Redmond in the latter regard. With Djenepo as well we could tire the defenders with one of them and then bring on the other. Hey, let's be optimistic! I wonder what RH thinks of Harrison Reed now he's getting a close up look of him in Ireland?
-
The video and photographs on the OS show them working hard but having a bit of fun too. Lots of sprinting and finishing practice. Boufal and Reed both in evidence. Not sure any conclusions can be drawn except H is very hands on.
