  1. https://www.bt.com/sport/watch/whats-on/pub-finder
  2. I've only read a minute by minute report in a newspaper, but surely JWP and Ings must be pleased they weren't part of that? Glad I didn't make the effort to watch.
  3. Yep, I opften don't get some of the references in Squires' cartoons, but there's always someone helpful below the line -- Note the logo is taped on..
  4. Hurrah, the BTSport pub finder lists a few locally, although I find it's always best to see if there's anything competing on and phone the pub. But it's some guaranteed pints sold (number depending on how stressful the game is) for the pub..
  5. Have a look at David Squires' cartoon in The Guardian today - look closely.. ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. No September posts on this thread: it's either lockdown or the site issues. Surely there must be something to laugh at?
  7. Poor old Brighton. Hide the pallets..
  8. I'm still going to Betty's..
  9. Blimey. With the site problems I've been missing the pessimistic posts as well as more cheerful ones!
  10. Oooh, no 5 second lag even when you didn't get a 504. Crossing my fingers. I wonder if it was some silly thing overlooked which we've _all_ done?! Quick post and edit works well....
  11. Unlike Trousers not to post at least duplicates of every post, so I'm still worried..
  12. If he's a big city boy he may want to stay in The Smoke.
  13. I think 5 is our new record!
  14. It will no doubt happen. I'll just wait for MLG, or QuebecSaint.. ๐Ÿ™‚
  15. 20 appearances! ๐Ÿ™‚
  16. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks. New on me. When the restart happens it'll be pizza and The Guide Dog!
  17. I think Juve must be one of the few Italian teams to pay those sorts of wages. Many players in Italy would jump at the salaries offered over here. What Southampton needs is a decent Italian restaurant and a wood-fired pizzeria to attract them along with the wages...
  18. Market exposure of what though? There was no obvious product or service even, and everything that was available in the public domain was amateurish in the extreme, hence all the reservations on here. The usual rule in these matters is follow the money. From a Harry Redknapp transfer deal, to the purchase of Carillo to this affair it would be interesting to see the money flows..

  20. Wasn't it just. "Sports industry observers are now questioning Southamptonโ€™s rationale for selling a key sponsorship asset to an unknown brand." Mind you, so were us fans. They really do take us for fools sometimes.. It's even made The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/aug/25/southampton-say-no-alternative-but-to-ditch-shirt-sponsor-ld-sports
  21. Surely if those players are involved the money will mean 3 out and 1 in?
  22. Yes, again very slow today, and that's just getting in in the first place: no specific sub-forum. Very frustrating for all concerned and I presume Steve is now bald!
  23. ๐Ÿ™‚ I saw Bobby Stokes score at Burnden Park and then had to pretend my team had just lost as we walked back to the coaches...
  24. I know what you mean, and he seems to have a very high opinion of himself and what wages he wants (or his agent wants). Fair enough, but we saw from Hoedt's example that brash self-belief isn't always a good thing. I think any wage offer would have to be conditional on some performance criteria. He says he wants to play in the premier league, but I can't help feeling that is because it pays so well and why the German deals have broken down.
  25. What about Shearer? I watched his debut!
