His checkouts v Taylor were quite stunning. Lots of mind games played during that match too, best for me was Taylor was on a 164 (i think) hit two treble 19's, opted to go for 18 rather than bull when Nicholson was sat on a 136. As if to say, go on then, you've hit 3 ton plus's so far, here's another go....! Taylor way below his best, but still had an average of 100 less a bit of change. Top stuff...!

dont want him associated with Hampshire. cokle

Not many players who played for us and had their best years with us could get a good reception coming back playing for "them" but he'd be one for sure. Fabulous keeper, one of the best we've had, top 3 easily. Took me 10 games to work out what foot he kicked with he could clear so well with both! And his treble save against Arsenal...!!! And goal against Fulham...!! I could go on... As has been said, clap on, clap off, chuckle when he lets in 3!

what he said about what the other bloke said

to the players and the club it IS just another game. its the fans that are making it what it is. it'll be the same for them, they have no locals, no idea on the history. and thats how it should be approached imho, in a level headed professional way, as soon as you start getting involved in other antics you're mind is taken off the focus of what is another game.

staggered! but cool! what would you have preferred? to beat the skates or morgan have his 3 game ban reduced?

Quite like Beglin, think he talks a lot of sense, as does Birtles. Think Merson is amusing, value for money. Motson wins this catagory hands down, should have hung his mike up years ago. gets easily confused by players, can spot who is who so he just says "oooh..." i could do that

i used to play in goal, and in my peak fitness - 25 to 30 - i was convinced i could cut the mustard in League football. Not long after my thoughts of playing a better higher standard we played a team in the Hampshire Cup who were in a league 4 divisions above us (we'd risen from Junior 7 to Senior League). We lost 8-0. They came out wearing track suits, they came out an hour before kick off to warm up - whilst we were slowly filtering in, a couple of players at a time 30 minutes before kick off, gravy down the top from the roast just eaten. They were simply quicker and fitter than us, and that was playing a team at least 7 divisions lower than the Premier League. I agree with one of the comments above, its the speed they think along with the fitness that would show the mere mortals up. Look at Ali Dia....

watched my first two full games at weekend, first time for years should i say since i used to play in college. back in '86. good lord. well i say full games, watched all the Jets Bengals. Not bad, was hoping the Jets won so.. Then watched (most) the Packers Cardinals last nite. Turned off with about 8 to go in the 4th, Cards players were saying bye bye to the Packers fans, 27-14 up (iirc). went to bed, couldnt sleep, got up again about 12.45 switched on to see it 45-45!! WTF etc etc!! Might tune in more often for longer!
