  1. I was in the Kingsland/Northam corner and it was pretty toxic. The support was good until the goal went in - then the crowd turned and started booing negative or hapless play by the team. The end of the game was the worse I've heard since the 'Swing Lowe' game against Derby. May be it was the area of the ground I was in was more vocal and sounded more toxic than other areas - but most of the Northam and a good element of the Kingsland were singing 'You don't know what you're doing" & 'Sacked in the morning" at the end. It's clear to me that if we don't get rid of Jones now, we are gone. The owners need to know that he has lost the supporters - and I feel we did that last night. The message was clear from the fans.
  2. Yeah! You could well be right! I was surprised at the high figure! Not a huge gap between the two teams and if Saints had taken their chances after Davies was subbed, then they could have gone on to win it.
  3. Over 13,000!
  4. Match Day 36 - Brentford 3 Saints 0 A horrorshow from Saints resulting in the majority of the fanbase calling for Ralph's head Match Day Comparison: Compared with last Season's MD 36 1-3 win away at Craven Cottage shows another drop in points and GD swing. -3 points; -4 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season we won 0-2 at Bramall Lane - so again, big points dropped in this comparison. -1 points; 0 GD Next up on Match Day 37 are Liverpool at home (we won 1-0 last season in the H2H) so very difficult to improve on that. We have now officially regressed from last season - hence why a generally patient set of supporters have had enough. Though it would be typical of Saints to get something out of this game! We need to to stop us looking over our shoulders...
  5. Nice one! Yeah, the figures should be all good - I plug them into a spreadsheet (that was tested on Minsk's results prior to him passing).
  6. Match Day 34 - Brighton 2 Saints 2 A decent second half performance after a dire first, got us to the magic 40 point water mark. Match Day Comparison: Compared with last Season's MD 32 away at Anfield where we lost 2-0 to Liverpool, so a minor improvement against this metric! +3 points; +4 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season we won 1-2 at the Amex - so again, points dropped in this comparison. +5 points; +8 GD Next up on Match Day 35 are coincidentally Palace at home (we won 3-1 last season in the H2H). We are still just about improving on last season, but anything but a win on Saturday will erode those comparison scores further!
  7. Match Day 32 - Saints 1 Arsenal 0 A decent performance was what was needed after last week's travesty and that's what we got with Lyanco and Frazer some of the key performers on the day. Match Day Comparison: Comared with last Season's MD 32 away at Tottenham where we lost 2-1, so a positive result against this metric! +3 points; +4 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was 1-3 loss at The Emirates - so an improvement in the H2H stakes and a GD increase as well! +10 points; +12 GD Next up on Match Day 33 are Burnley away (we won 0-1 at their place last season in the H2H) and a 1-1 draw with Leicester in the Match Day comparison. The comparison to last season is looking a bit more positive again, and we're tangibly doing comparatively better in the H2H and with some lower table teams coming up next we should expect to see both stats improve further. All I want is some improvement season on season and it's currently looking like that has happened so far...
  8. Match Day 30 - Leeds 1 - Saints 1 Finally putting a stop to our losing streak, but still not quite firing on all cylinders. Great to see Tella back and JWP is closing in on Beckham's record! Match Day Comparison: Sadly, this is the week where we are on a par with last season. I suppose our low points at the start of this season added to our recent run of form has finally equalled out with last season's Jeckel & Hyde form. We beat Burnley 3-2 at home on last season's MD 30, so points and GD dropped in terms of match day comparison. 0 points; +5 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was the depressing, 0-3 loss at Elland Road - so a small improvement in the H2H stakes and a GD increase as well! +8 points; +15 GD Next up on Match Day 31 are Chelsea at home (being compared to a respectable 1-1 in the H2H) and a 3-0 drubbing by West Brom in the Match Day comparison. Can we replicate Brentford's victory and capitalise on the fact that our game is sandwiched between Champions League ties with Real Madrid (with Chelsea only having 2 days rest between each game)?
  9. Match Day 29 - Saints 1 - Watford 2 An awful disjointed performance, not helped by Ralph playing Smallbone upfront behind Adams and comedy defending from Salisu and Frazer. But not quite as bad as Brighton's run of form who we are comparing to last year's 2-1 home defeat. Match Day Comparison: No change in this respect to that Brighton game last season. Both 2-1 losses. +2 points; +6 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was a 2-0 win (against West Brom for comparison purposes) - so again, points dropped and GD reduced. +7 points; +12 GD Next up on Match Day 30 are Leeds away ( being compared to our 3-2 home win against Burnley) so difficult to improve the MD stats. The H2H compares last season's 3-0 loss at Elland Road - so, a chance to increase the H2H stats.. See you all at St Marys for an unlikely (but not impossible) cup win tomorrow!!
  10. Match Day 28 - Saints 1 - Newcastle 2 A better performance than at Villa and we probably should have won it based on chances created - but Newcastle were clinical (and cynical). Match Day Comparison: Last season we lost to Man City 5-2, so a small improvement in GD compared to that game. +2 points; +6 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was a 2-0 win - so again, comparison points dropped. +10 points; +15 GD Next up on Match Day 29 is the home defeat by Brighton (1-2), so another chance to increase Match Day Comparison stats The H2H compares last season's 2-0 win at home against West Brom - so, again difficult to increase the H2H stats - unless the team thrash Watford. Here's hoping for a motivating home win after a depressing week of losses! COYRs!
  11. Match Day 27 - Aston Villa 4 - Saints 0 Hopefully 'another bad day at the office', rather than a turn in form. Still gutted. Match Day Comparison: Last season we beat Sheffield United 2-0, so a decrease in points and 6 point shift in GD. +2 points; +4 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season's comparison was the 3-4 win at Villa Park - so again, comparison points dropped. +13 points; +18 GD Next up on Match Day 28 is the nefariously rearranged home game against Newcastle - which is now tangibly more difficult than it would have been in Dec - being compared to the 5-2 away mauling by Man City - so a fair chance in increasing the Match Day Comparison score. The H2H compares a 2-0 win at home against Newcastle - so difficult to increase the H2H stats - unless the team are performing at their very best. Overall, we are still performing well in comparison to last season - but is the comparison starting to level out? Thursday will be a good indicator... Up the Saints!
  12. Match Day 26 - Saints 2 - Norwich 0 Another comfortable home win, up to 9th in the table with a Romeu banger to boot! Match Day Comparison: Last season we lost 1-0 to Everton at Goodison, so an increase in points and GD. +5 points; +10 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: The comparison was to last season's home win against Fulham (3-1), so again, no change on the H2H. +16 points; +23 GD Next up on Match Day 27 is a tricky away game at Villa Park - lets hope we remind Danny Ings what he's been missing. Last season's Matchday 27 was a 0-2 win against a poor Sheffield United team, devoid of confidence. It will be difficult to better the GD but not impossible. The H2H compares the nerve wracking 3-4 win to Saints where we were cruising at 4-0 and did our best to surrender the lead with 3 late goals conceded. Again, it will be difficult to improve on the GD but we'll see!
  13. Match Day 25 - Saints 2 - Everton 0 What a great result! Match Day Comparison: Last season we lost 3-0 to Leeds at Elland Road, We have now officially reached the point where we have turned the corner compared to last year! +2 points; +7 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: The score was exactly the same - 2-0 on the 25th Oct as part of our table topping (post Spurs - high line disaster) run. No change then on the H2H. +16 points; +23 GD Next up on Match Day 26 is a Friday night home 'banker' against Norwich, who Minsk substituted by Fulham for the H2H comparison. Last season, we beat Fulham at home 3-1, so we'll want to equal that to maintain our great H2H comparison with last year. Last season's Matchday 26 was a predicted 1-0 loss at Goodison (the place we never seem to be able to win at), so should we win on Friday then we will further improve the Match Day Comparison. I've set up a spreadsheet now and gone through all the previous Minsk posts to ensure I'm keeping to the same methodology and it all adds up and makes sense now - so should be OK going forward - for this season at least!
  14. Thanks for letting us know and I/we wish you all the best. We'll all miss Minsk here and my/our thoughts are with you all!
  15. Cheers NTA! Had a particularly bad hangover Sunday and Monday was very hectic!
  16. So here's my attempt to carry on Minsk's great work. It won't be as good but I'd enjoy seeing the scores move each game, so I hope you do as well! Match Day 23 Match Day Comparison: Last season we lost at home to Wolves (2-1). So last night's stunning result almost brings us down to 0. Win on Saturday and we would have officially turned the comparative corner. -1 points; +1 GD Head-to-Head Comparison: Last season we lost this fixture 2-1, so the win increases our points and GD here too. +15 points; +13 GD Next up on Match Day 24 is an away trip to Old Trafford (Saturday 12.30 KO on BT Sports). Last season's Head to Head was the infamous, second 9-0 and in the Match Day Comparison we achieved a creditable home draw against Chelsea. I read an article that rated our remaining games as second easiest (with Brighton the most easy) so you'd expect our points difference in both categories to carry on improving! COYRs!
  17. Oh cool! Well I'll do my best! It was such a great idea and I'm looking forward to seeing our comparable scores improve as surely we won't implode like the second half of last season!
  18. If you wouldn't mind sending over the spreadsheet then I will give it a go to keep it updated Minsk. My email is tbfs25@ntlworld.com. Cheers!
  19. That's such awful news. Gutted for you and we'll all miss you on here. This thread has been brilliant and you've always come across as a great bloke with interesting views and a decent sense of humour! Thanks for all the posts! Best of luck mate!
  20. Thanks! I've only just seen this! Cheers!
  21. I thought that last week! Was slurring really badly...
  22. Has anyone actually got the Augmented Reality features on the home shirt to work? I've tried searching the official site and although there's a lot of content around it nowhere does it say how to actually make it work! I know it's a bit sad but it's really bugging me!
  23. This link is working! Not english - http://firstrowsports.be/soccer/swansea-city-southampton-krk842b6c?l=1342458332
  24. Yeah! Brilliant! Thanks!
