After the West Brom game someone posted a thread praising Cortese for dumping Adkins and appointing Pochettino. After the Norwich game someone posted a thread criticising Pochettino's record and wondering if he was the right man for the job. Yesterday someone suggested he should be manager of the month. If we lose to Swansea next week with a 'dull' performance some numpty will post a thread casting doubts again. Only in today's modern football can people be seriously suggesting that Moyes should get the sack after 6 PL matches. Are there any football fans left that can keep a level head?!?!

POL Comments of the Day: "Who the hell are Bournemouth? A minnow, devoid of decent history, with a wealthy foreigner punching incredibly above its weight. Crikey, a comparison with them. You post as if they are a rival to us." "I am getting grumpier and grumpier during games. We are drawing with the football powerhouse that is York City. Faneffingtastic. Can we please actually win this one and stop piddling about" "We've got the mighty Rochdale next week" "This is their [trust] first real tough decision they will have to make for on the pitch matters. How much longer can we go on like this?" "its time for the trust to grow some balls" "We need to use the loan market starting with a goalkeeper" "Time for the Board to match the ambition showed by us and appoint Warnock" "I am sick of losing. Sick of minnows wiping their feet on us. We are numbed by this garbage" "We are Portsmouth Football Club, twice champions of England. Playing Minnows. I'm sorry to adopt such a superior attitude in the 4th division but too many people at this club do not have that ruthless, aggressive, 'we are better than you, AND we will show it' attitude. At the moment we have an attitude of 'we are bigger than these clubs, but lets allow them to enjoy their big day out against Pompey'. It's arrogance but more importantly, it's soft as ****!" So basically they are already fed up with League 2 and are prepared to sack any manager that doesn't look like winning every game in the division, as is their right. They want Warnock installed and if that doesn't happen then the trust has no balls. We need to sign better players regardless of financial consideration and how dare they be compared to Bournemouth because they are minnows. Another few seasons in League 2 is just what they need. and one to put a smile on your face from the general himself... "I wouldn't put it past them to make it into a Europa Cup place though. Dear God, even when they were sh*t and down in League One they would have absolutely creamed us today, we are f**king atrocious!!"

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 2-0 Crystal Palace
brightspark replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We've got 11 points from a possible 18, a great return, without playing our best football. Can't believe how lucky we are as fans to see our team 4th in the league. Nobody would have thought this was possible 5 years ago. -
Why does Hodgson never pick Gareth Bale?!?! Hilarious stuff on POL. "They must have thought it was Wembley". Between the years of 2003 and 2006 perhaps.
-
I am genuinely worried that Wanyama is getting worse. Where can I sign the 'bring back Jack Cork' petition? We're pretty good in the first two thirds. We look like different players in the final third... unbelieveably frustrating. Osvaldo is showing up Lambert today. At least Boruc is having a stormer, the ref is winding them up and we don't look too troubled defensively. I'm smelling another 0-0.

The whole thing stinks but we are powerless. Nobody has the balls to confront the corruption and start a new organisation. Countries should think about boycotting the upcoming World Cup let alone 2022. Real action? I'd love to see it but nobody is going to do it. Just wish we could have Blatter and Platini in front of a firing squad.

Outrageous thread. Only 2 weeks ago someone posted a thread praising Cortese for the change from Adkins to Pochettino. I guess that was because we won the game. Football fans in general seem to be complete donuts nowadays. WE LOST! SACK HIM! SACK HIM NOW!!!
-
This. Feel really sorry for Cork, especially when Wanyama struggled as he did today. This is going to be another season where positions between 8th and 19th (Palace 20th) are going to be extremely tightly contested. Stoke beating WHU, our game could have gone either way today... it's unpredictable! Positives: Chambers, Lovren, JWP Negatives: Wanyama, Ramirez, Webb Can't believe Howard Webb failed to give 2 stonewall penalties today (Johnson Handball, Fonte on Johnson)! He's the best in the world! A very bad day in the office for him...

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
brightspark replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Got to be pleased with that performance, our passing in the early stages was exceptional and if it wasn't for a poor run of finishing then we would have won the game. I'd have been happier with that sort of performance and 1-1 than a sh1t performance and scraping a 1-0 through an own goal. We've got a lot to look forward to this season. -
Maybe we should have fans refereeing matches, because the fans are always right. Who cares if the foul rate is 90%-10% to the home team every week, it's obviously the best solution.
-
Look, he didn't have a good game. There were several things he got wrong and maybe each decision he felt unsure with weighed on the next one and as a result it seemed to get worse as the game went on. HOWEVER Some of you angry folks need to take a step back and look at yourselves. Posting cr&p like "I would be sacked if that was my job" - well refereeing isn't your job, is it? Football refereeing is the hardest job in the world, not because it requires the most energy, but because people's expectations of your performance is 100% correct and nothing less. ONE bad decision and a good referee becomes a bad referee. These guys are Premier League referees, they are here for a reason! From a realistic point of view, they are the best in the country. From the fans point of view, they are not as sh1t as the other sh1t refs.

Doubt this bit in particular would have been mentioned in if we'd lost to WBA. In fact if we fail to beat Sunderland we'll have some fool harking back to the '20 game plus winning streak' and how Adkins was better at home than Pochettino.
-
Football is a ruthless business. When Billy Sharp played a key role in promotion, most felt he deserved a chance, he was given little more than a cameo. When Nigel Adkins guided us to back to back promotions, most (all?) felt he deserved the whole season, he wasn't given the chance. The reality is that Osvaldo is an upgrade on any player currently in the attacking 4. Someone is going to suffer, we may feel sad for that player, but we'll get over it if we finish in the top half. Would love to see J-Rod, Rickie & Osvaldo play together. But would also love to see Lallana, Ramirez and JAMES WARD-PROWSE! Don't forget our youth! Think the players who will suffer from this move the most will be Mayuka, Puncheon and Davis.

Let's see how our Pompey fans have reacted to the 3-2 victory yesterday evening... Source: Footy Mad, User: pfcsteve72 STAINS W@NKER Because a 41 year old man can get so angry he had to use capitals, that's worth a bitterometer rating of 9/10. Source: Fans Online, User: pompeyhighlander Against the likes of Scotland, surely Hodgson should be selecting a squad of emerging young players who have real potential at international level. (Preferably footballers rather than hoofball specialists.) He had to include that bit in the brackets didn't he. 7/10 on the bitteromter Source: Twitter, User: Pompey Steeler Congrats to Rickie Lambert for scoring the first ever England goal that I've refused to celebrate. Scummer. Well you can at least celebrate an 8/10 on the bitterometer Source: Fans Online, User: Blood t f';king dirty scummer won me £60, going to be sh1t having to collect it tomorrow knowing that ***** won it for me Ouch. 60 Quid he'd rather use to wipe his arse. 7/10 on the bitterometer. but the winner, with a WHOLE paragraph of pure bitterness, comes on our most favourite and secretive rival website... Source: POL, User: Blue East Sorry to say Lambert was a waste of a valuable place that should have been used for a rising talent. 31 years old, one season in the Premier league: he's still a Championship-level, old-fashioned centre forward and he scored a Championship level goal against a side that would struggle in the Championship. There is no way on this earth that he is of high enough standard to play in a competitive match for England and, at 31, even if he was, he's to old to be starting an international career for a country with the international standing of England. I'm sorry to say that this post rates an outstanding 10/10 on the bitterometer

No surprise Lawro has gone for QPR to win the Championship. Was it 7th or 8th he had them finishing the Premier League last season with his predictions? Plank.

NO NO NO it looks like the kit we last got relegated in! Bad omens and all that!

We need something visual. Someone on another thread posted an idea of a mass walk out. So when the ref starts the game, everyone leaves their seats and heads underneath the terraces. That would say something. Return after 5 minutes or so.

Please no. Even if this was Guardiola I'd be unhappy. Nigel deserves so much more. Please no. -
