  1. I would like Smith to be given longer to prove himself. Technically he is one of the better players in the squad and IMO needs a run of games and confidence to get his career back on track. I think people have been far too critical considering the number of appearances he has had. Try comparing that to some of the other wastes of space who have appeared throughout large parts of this season and STILL not proved themselves. Smith is still young and lost his way slightly, give him a break for Christ sake and I guarantee you will see a vastly improved and effective player in League 1 (not just aimed at you Um Bongo).
  2. I would be totally against this for all the obvious reasons (potentially tarnish his name, not suited to management etc). In my eyes the ideal position for him at the club would be as the figure head Chairman, much like Quinn at Sunderland.
  3. Well they better hurry up!
  4. Precisely as I thought. I think any consortium would be keen to get Matt's name on board because it effectively guarantees fans' backing.
  5. Seems about right.
  6. Aside from this though, I have noticed less creases in our kits than when Woggy was doing the kit folding. I can't believe we actually have a thread on this
  7. Most people only want him back because he used to tell people 90% of the clubs transfer rumours.
  8. Summed up perfectly.
  9. Exactly as I suggested. I truly believe the 'we have had two bids' has totally been lost in translation and he was never referring to the actual club.
  10. Well all I can do is take your word for that, however forgive me if I don't wholeheartedly believe anything that is said on here having suffered through all of the old takeover threads I hope for you to be proved correct.
  11. Still the same ****ty old one on my browser.
  12. No I fully believe Matt has been contacted, however my question is are they making this public now as they don't actually have any money, so are getting Matt in as some sort of compromise. Maybe its the cynic in me, however with Saints I have learned to be skeptical until I know the full picture.
  13. Salmonella is far worse than Swine Flu.
  14. I can't help but think something was lost in translation with the Wotte interview. I believe that he was talking about offers for players rather than offers for the club. Failing that he probably meant approaches so hold your horses people. While the Matt link is potentially very exciting I would be keen to find out if this consortium actually have any substance to them or whether they are just using his name to hide the fact they don't have enough money to make a difference. Sorry for potentially dampening any spirits, but our hopes have been dashed FAR too many times and I would just urge a little caution.
  15. I absolutely agree. I think far too many people are afraid to question Crouch's responsibility in that summer of spending. He holds just as much responsibility as Hone, Hoos, Dulieu, and Wilde IMO.
  16. Jesus, I couldn't give a toss if there was a picture of Manderic straddled over Arry, c*ck in hand and ready to fire. I think we have far more important things to worry about.
  17. I'm afraid I noticed the Southend comment on the day you created this thread
  18. Thanks, the initial prospect of having to read through 4 pages did not appeal to me, however luckily the answer to my question became apparent by the end of the first page which in turn saved about 3 minutes of my life. pheew!
  19. Yep, saw the other thread after posting on this one. Mods, shouldn't this thread be deleted?
  20. Don't know if its been discussed through this thread, by why the f**k have Stockport been given the points deduction this season as opposed to next season????
  21. Why the f**k have Stockport been given the points deduction this season as opposed to next season????
  22. Lowe returning yet again, particularly in what would potentially be a private company would most certainly be the end of the road for me.
  23. Excellent post. Totally agree.
  24. £40 million? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=12654
  25. Agreed Ron, he can't pass for toffee but adds something we most certainly lack, that being leadership on the field.
