Wigan was a great away day, friendly fans, good pubs. Villa is close to good pubs in Brum. On my way back from Sunderland now and never wish to go there again. Soulless place. Crap team. Annoying manager.

Three points will be very important. Not only for the league position and prize money but to make sure we don't finish the season with 6 games without a win.

Just seen the replay of Punch's goal. Hadn't seen how good his reactions and technique were from the far end. Jason Puncheon, he scores on his arse!

Would like to see Villa and Wigan stay up. Lambert has done well with a young team and recovered from awful early results. Wigan play decent football and have spirit. Sunderland is a dross town with a dross team and a manager I dislike with some intensity. Don't ever want to go there again. Would be fun to see Brighton come up.

Oh yes. Was there, in the Leeds end with my Leeds supporting family. I have never, ever seen so many utterly p!ssed off people in one place. When I couldn't stop myself celebrating at FT I really thought I was going to get decked, and that was by my own family.

But do loyalty points carry over frm this season?

March 31 2007. Wolves 0 Saints 6. We had a very weakened side through injury. The first 20 mins they could have been three up. Then we scored on the break. And again, og, then another. They missed a pen. And we scored three more. Saganowski hat trick. They were the better team and lost 6 0. Their fans were amazing, sang to the end. We're going to win 6 5 changed to 7 6 in mid song. Went home totally bemused, but happy.

It may be full time for Fergie but I expect there will be a season or two of added time.

I might go for Puncheon, but he seems out of favour and I suppose he's more likely to get sent off in a feisty game. But he would run at the defence and could rattle them. Otherwise, obviously the only other choice is Adam.

As an aside, with so many teams close, there must be a fair chance of at least one match on the final day having the potential as an "agreed" draw giving both teams a guarantee of what they need. Just say it were to be us and Stoke. How would you feel if we passed the ball around aimlessly all afternoon?
