  1. We all know that our FPTP system means that is nonsense. Anyway that would only make sense if it was a single issue election but there are many different issues just as or more important thatn Brexit.
  2. So instead of giving the people a straight choice of his deal or remain, he has given us a choice of his deal or remain with a socialist government. Great example of democracy.
  3. Just shows how relatively quick the warming has happened - what do you think is causing it?
  4. These companies make billions and at the forefront of the technology, they should be able to moderate themselves - if they can't they can be blocked like other websites are.
  5. Surely it can work in a similar way to how the press or TV is regulated?
  6. I guess by urging people to "vote with their conscience" he means don't vote for anti-semites or people who call muslim women letterboxes and gays tanktopped bum-boys?
  7. The really depressing thing is that the ineptitude of the opposition make the result inevitable and Boris and his ilk will see that as a mandate for a no-deal Brexit, and there will be nothing to stop them once they have a majority. Labour’s policies are a car crash so the only good outcome I can see from this election is a hung parliament and some sort of coalition.
  8. I have no time for momentum or Corbyn to be honest, just don't think it's right that services are in such a state when there is so much money sloshing around.
  9. I'm not rich but earn well above average - I'm pretty sure if the tax system meant all mid-high earners paid a bit more we could stop the trollies thing quite easily - wouldn't that be nice? If you are happy to let people suffer in misery and pain because you want a few more quid at the end of the month to then I really pity you. As for the super rich - I cannot even get my head round why someone with that sort of wealth objects to paying into a system that has helped them become so wealthy.
  10. In my opinion it’s nothing to with envy, it’s just about paying for vital services and helping people who are in a worse position to have some sort of decent life. I couldn’t give a monkey’s where the money comes from, I’m happy to pay more tax, I wouldn’t even notice if the chucked a few pence on income tax to stop people being piled up on trollies in hospital corridoors. It just makes sense for people with more to contribute more, especially with the current state of our capitalist system where the divide between the rich and poor is more pronounced. Billionaires are the new millionaires whilst some hardworking people can’t even afford their own house and we are cutting important services.
  11. Sharing is caring, even my 5 year old daughter understand that.
  12. Obviously some were but most were not otherwise Boris deal wouldn’t have gone through. The only deal Parliament blocked was May’s deal which Boris twice voted against.
  13. We’re gonna get smashed with that lineup away at Arsenal.
  14. The MPs that voted against the Brexit deal were only doing what Boris Johnson did twice. If they think the deal would not be good for their constituents it is their duty to vote against it, just like Boris did.
  15. A second refurendum would be way more democratic than this shambles of a general election. We are faced with a choice between a Hard Brexit (probably without a deal) or a socialist utopia - two things I doubt the majority of people want. It is no choice we should have to face and if all the experts are to believed, either result is going to be bad for the economy.
  16. Johnson had a mare there
  17. Yes, but as such a scheme doesn't currently exist in the rest of the UK there are currently about 3.5million people without the relevant ID. I'm not against voter ID, I genuinely don't give a monkeys either way. I'm just trying to explain to you the rather obvious reasons Labour have been opposed to it. Even if that scheme is free and easily available it is still another hoop for people to jump through and may result in less of Labour's demographic voting.
  18. Again, it appears you have a problem reading. "Research by the Electoral Commission, the independent body that sets the standards of elections in the UK, indicated in 2015 about 3.5 million citizens or 7.5% of the electorate did not have access to any approved photo ID. There are variations across different groups - for example, women are considerably less likely than men, and black people considerably less likely than white people, to have a driving licence. Certain ethnic groups such as Gypsies and Irish Travellers are much less likely than the average to have a passport."
  19. What exactly are Saints waiting for? ****ing shambles of a club.
  20. The research was by the Electoral Commission you dopey old fool. Try ****ing reading.
  21. Your talking out of your arse as usual. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-50044539
  22. Because certain groups of people are more likely to be disenfranchised and these are more likely to vote Labour (Young, poor and ethnic minorities). At least that’s what some guy in radio 5 was saying studies have shown.
  23. Yeah, I'm sure it's only one side that commits fraud.
  24. Bonkers. He will be at Man Utd in weeks.
  25. Especially as it was mentioned in the context of climate change, and Corbyn is right, poorer countries are going to suffer much more.
