  1. You do understand that if the people of the UK still want to leave the EU a second refurendum would not stop that happening? Not sure what you are so scared of.
  2. This. If anything it is more undemocratic to plough ahead regardless and just ignoring the fact that public opinion may well have changed in light of many new facts, especially if it is a Tory No Deal type of Brexit.
  3. I don’t have a clue how the legal side of it works but the bbc seem to think you can have a legally binding refurendum that automatically takes effect: 3. Another referendum A further possibility is to hold another referendum. It could have the same status as the 2016 referendum, which was legally non-binding and advisory. But some MPs want to hold a binding referendum where the result would automatically take effect - like with the 2011 referendum on changing the voting system for UK general elections. One widely discussed option would be for a "confirmatory vote" on whatever deal is finally agreed where the public would be given the choice between accepting the existing deal (or an alternative plan) and remaining in the EU. Makes sense to me. 1. Boris comes back from Brussels with his new Super Deal (no scapegoats anymore - this is as good as it can get). 2. The house approves it subject to a public vote (even the remainers will approve that) 3. Vote happens, the day after we are out of the EU or Brexit is toast.
  4. That wouldn’t matter, if you get Parliament to back a deal subject to another binding referendum, it wouldn’t have to go back to the commons for a vote. If May had done that last December we would be out the EU by now, if the people still wanted it.
  5. Not sure what a general election is going to solve, I doubt the numbers will change much either way. A confirmatory vote on Brexit is the obvious way forward.
  6. Yeah it's a shame. Maybe all negative stories about Boris should be banned so the press can focus carrying on the anti-semitism campaign against Corbyn?
  7. That’s just something people say when they are too old to remember how bad and embarrassing some of the stuff they did was.
  8. For starters I think there is scope make our tax system more progressive without killing the economy. Fact is, for anyone on the housing ladder with a half decent job, these years of ‘Austerity’ have just been easy years of low mortgage payments. I wouldn’t even noticed if they bung a couple of percent on the tax rate. Would you seriously stop working hard if they took a few more percent in tax out of your pay packet? We are cutting police at a time when people are getting stabbed all over the place, cutting vital services, destroying the NHS, people at the bottom have suffered austerity when a huge chunk of the population have just p!ssed it up. As for the super-rich and multinational companies like Amazon, that is a harder issue but just accepting the situation and pandering to them while they cream off billions is not going to help a situation which is only moving in one direction. It needs an international solution, but in a system based competing against one another instead of working together that is probably impossible.
  9. I think your "guess" is a bit misguided. There always has been people who are sh!t at school and end up doing low paid jobs - always will be, and there are always low paid jobs that need doing. The fact that so many of these people are stuck in renting and going to food banks is not a great reflection on our system, especially when there is so much wealth around. And that is not eve taking into account the cuts in services which has real effect on some people, and I would guess way more than 0.1%.
  10. I dunno, any system where the government has to make so many cuts to public services while Amazon and Starbucks combined pay less tax than N'Golo Kante is pretty f*cked, and probably not sustainable IMO. It’s easy to say the system works if you have a well paid job and nice house, I doubt many of the low paid, stuck in renting and using food banks share your opinion.
  11. I’m happy with it how it is, it’s good having half decent tv, radio and website that is not stuffed full of ads.
  12. That’s not liberal leftie London, it is just London. “Once clear that no one was harmed, I contacted the Guardian, as I felt it was of important public interest. I believe it is reasonable for someone who is likely to become our next prime minister to be held accountable for all of their words, actions and behaviours.” He’s got a point.
  13. Unless you were there it’s impossible to say wether the neighbours were justified in calling he plod or not, you would think she must have been screaming quite loud though to be heard next door, let alone recorded. Anyone harassing the girl is obviously an idiot, that we can all agree on. You don’t often seem so concerned about chicks having their feelings hurt, sure you’re not more concerned about the Brexit poster boy seemingly doing all he can to lose the leadership contest?
  14. Loving the fake outrage on here! If Corbyn had been recorded having a bust-up with his Mrs, the usual ***ts would be all over it like a cheap Pompey whore.
  15. I absolutely agree with the climate protester's cause but if you are going to protest and cause disruption you should expect a bit of roughing up and take it on the chin. That said they are probably just making a fuss of it to get it in the news which is fair play.
  16. He created the mess, he can sort it out. It’s gonna be funny as **** watching him come back from Brussels with nothing but the same deal as May.
  17. It’s been obvious that Boris will win since the first vote, is there really any point dragging it out for so long? Over two months since the EU granted us an extension, telling us to “use the time wisely” and all the Tories have done is **** about with a pointless leadership contest.
  18. We obviously should be aiming for a cup win and/or European football but for a club our size, with a skint owner, just staying up is a success.
  19. Fraud! LOL The Tories are just ****ting it because the Labour vote held up in one of the most pro-Brexit constituencies. If there was any fraud there is no way it would have been on a scale to effect the result. Anyway, fraud is not specific to any one party. It is interesting how well Labour did considering their unclear and apparently unpopular stance on Brexit. Maybe not as many Labour voters voted for Brexit as previously thought, or many have changed their mind? Either way it has got to be worrying for the Tories because Farage will smash the arse out of their vote if they haven’t delivered on Brexit by the next GE.
  20. I agree, but as a sovereign nation Iran will still feel it has a right to defend itself and owning a nuclear deterrent is not in itself a hostile act.
  21. They are allowed if they are American.
  22. Can’t blame a country for wanting a nuclear deterrent.
  23. I’ve seen a video that is conclusive proof that a bunch of blokes on a speedboat did something to the side of a boat, where is the video that proves it is Iranian forces?
  24. No need to p!ss your pants over it, Corbyn has not said it’s a false flag. Just that it’s best to have credible evidence before making accusations.
