Resting the first team was a no brainer, that’s why Belgium did it as well. It wasn’t a case of choosing a route, just resting players when they had the chance because there was nothing really worth playing for. All this momentum stuff is just ********, there is more to gain by having fresh legs and no injuries than momentum- that’s why virtually all Prem teams rest players for less important cup games. **** me, it’s not rocket science. Where we are positioned in the draw now gives us the best chance to get to a final I can remember. Croatia look decent but Spain havn’t been great and all the others are beatable.
