I think JWP can only claim to be anywhere near as good as Oakley once he's managed to hold down a place in the team for a length of time.
-
Smacks of being created by a designer with little knowledge of football.
-
I expect Palmer has good contacts at SFC, he used to write for the club, not sure if he still does.
-
The took an unnecessary gamble and it backfired - of course they are to blame.
-
This. Waking them at a time just before it usually happens breaks the sleep pattern. And it's hard but best just leave them alone.

Deals can get done quick, you just have to throw money at it. If you try and penny pinch the negotiations are bound to drag on longer.
-
That’s ********, we wasted over a month in the summer and ended up with someone 3rd or 4th on the list - after sacking a manager we didn’t have to sack. Shambles.
-
Sounds like floundering to me. Get your target nailed down, then sack your manager, appoint the next day - it’s not rocket science. Other clubs manage to do it, Cortese managed to do it.
-
The one time we want the victims to win and they **** it up.
-
Yes, Watford hired Silva just days after the end of the season. In true Saints style, we floundered around waiting for weeks before bothering to do anything about Puel. Then ****ed about a bit for 10 days or so before hiring Pelligrino.
-
If that was the case then I would get him in ASAP, his CV is way better than Pelligrinos. We played well yesterday but we are still in the bottom three after over half of the season gone.
-
After today’s performance, if we get a couple of decent attackers in I think even Crusty the Clown will keep us up.
-
There’s nothing to stop the owners asset stripping if that’s what they decide to do. Weren’t Pompey a limited company when they got butt ****ed?
-
Worth a punt.
-
Why are people still banging on about Puel, when he was sacked next to no one on here really gave a ****. It was obviously a monumental **** up sacking him and hiring Pellegrino but at the time no one cared because the football was boring.
-
To be fair it virtually always the same people who do both.
-
We need to sit there and clap happily along like a bunch of SWF mongs, everything will be fine.

I don’t think selling to Gao was in the best interests of the club, she’s just lining her pockets.
-
This. This Gao bloke could just cut his loses after relegation and leave a shell of a club saddled with debt. No doubt Fat Kat sold him the club as an “established Prem club looking to break into the top 6” and he fell for it hook line and sinker. He’s possibly paid 200mill for a Championship club worth £50-60mill max, not sure how he expects to recoup his investment - we all know championship clubs make **** all profit. It may be asset stripping is his best way of not losing too much.
-
All well and good giving him time if we are improving or he looks like he knows what he’s doing. There is nothing in his CV that shows he can manage in the prem either so giving him time is just taking a massive unnecessary gamble with the clubs future.
-
Two clubs who bothered to make a change of manager jump above us.
-
This. We could be in big trouble if they don’t.
-
I thought streaming would burst the bubble but it doesn’t seem to have. Why get sky when you can get a Kodi and watch any game you want live?
