Agree, which is why it made sense to finish second.
-
That’s my pet hate, people who drive Chelsea Tractors because they think they look cool not because they actually need one. Thick ****s, the epitome of selfishness, ****ing up the environment and any poor sod they run into, just for the sake of their ego.
-
And some mongs on here wanted us to be in the other half of the draw. Nuts.
-
Resting the first team was a no brainer, that’s why Belgium did it as well. It wasn’t a case of choosing a route, just resting players when they had the chance because there was nothing really worth playing for. All this momentum stuff is just ********, there is more to gain by having fresh legs and no injuries than momentum- that’s why virtually all Prem teams rest players for less important cup games. **** me, it’s not rocket science. Where we are positioned in the draw now gives us the best chance to get to a final I can remember. Croatia look decent but Spain havn’t been great and all the others are beatable. Previous World Cups we’ve always had a Brazil, Germany, Argentina or Renaldo’s Portugal in our way. We could very easily go out next round but Southgate has done this right, it’s worth a shot.

Great Stuff! Now a new striker and Centre back plz
-
Columbia will be tough but anyone who thinks Columbia then Sweden or Switzerland isn't a decent chance at a semi-final is an idiot. Putting out the reserves was a no-brainer - that's why Belgium did it as well. We've played 3 games in 10 days then have a massive knockout game next Tuesday, of course it makes sense to rest players, not pick up injuries or yellow cards and give the squad a run out. Anyone moaning is a clueless nob.
-
Happy with that. Great chance to get to the semis now.
-
8 changes, makes sense to rest key players and give some others a run out for a game we don’t need to win.
-
I wouldn't. Plus it makes sense to rest a few players for the next round which is next Monday or Tuesday.
-
It obviously makes sense to finish second looking at how it pans out. For once I have every faith in England getting the required result tonight.
-
We need to invest heavily now to stand a chance of staying up.
-
That's obvious, it's the idea that we need to sell to raise funds the is barmy.
-
How did you work that one out? We are two years down the line and still don't know what the situation will be.
-
We’re you in a coma when we flogged Van Dyke for 75mill or something? I seriously doubt Hughes would have taken the job on if he wasn’t given a half decent war chest, the idea that we still have to sell to buy is just nuts.
-
When an Aberdeen fan says he won’t set the heather alight it’s a bit worrying but hey, hopefully he will prove to be a bargain.
-
Pretty sure they give more of a stuff about Dorset than Gmina Wasilków.
-
Sell before we buy are you ****ing serious?! We still have most of the VVD money to spend, how were we planning on buying Promes if we don’t have a **** load of cash?
-
They have more of an interest than voters in Poland and Germany.
-
Not ridiculous at all, whatever you views on the British electoral system (I would actually prefer a PR system like the EU) fact is that is the system we have and adding another level above just reduces accountability of the people we elect. Also the main point is that whilst the EU is democratic it’s voted for by the whole of Europe, most of whom don’t have any interest in what’s good for Britain.
-
It's still risky flogging your best players, whoever makes the decision. You can spend £20-30mill on a player in today's climate and they can still be a failure. The squad needs investment even if we keep Tadic, sell him and we will really be rolling the relegation dice again.
-
Was still or best player under our current manager and I whilst not perfect I don't have a lot of faith in Reed/Wilson landing a replacement as good.
-
That's the best thing about VAR - it shows up the incompetent fools for what they are. The dickhead who refereed last night can't hide behind the 'didn't see it' excuse. There will always be wrong decisions regardless of VAR and the quality of ref. VAR has worked well so far IMO, last nights mess was due to FIFA's obsession with picking refs from tin pot leagues around the World who cannot handle it when dumped into the big stage. He didn't have the confidence to trust his own decision above VAR and didn't have the bottle to send off a megastar.
-
And Labour go missing again.
-
Nothing wrong with VAR, it doesn't matter how much technology you have if the ref is useless.
-
Looks like they gave an owner who actually wants to invest. Won’t be long before they are way ahead of us if the current trend continues IMO.
