  1. Surely it's not in PFC's interest to have the cash ring-fenced? If they have cash-flow problems next season and are facing going bust again what is the point in having a seven figure sum they cannot touch except for ground improvements? And if they do go bust who gets the ring-fenced cash?
  2. Gary Lineker and Robbie Savage seemed to understand.
  3. Man Utd have won it 11 times and are now in decline. We are better off out of it.
  4. This is an absolutely MASSIVE game for Saints. Win and we will probably stay 8th, maybe even go 7th for a couple of hours. Draw and we will be 8th, lose and we will probably be 8th but Newcastle's result could potentially mean we fall to a disastrous 9th for a week or two. I'm so glad we f*cked off the FA Cup last week to concentrate on this vital fixture.
  5. I'm not angry but still think it was a wasted opportunity, wether we finish 7th, 8th or 9th makes no difference to me whatsoever. I would happily give a few kids a run out against West Ham, prepare for next season.
  6. Shouldn't make any difference, if a woman is feeling unwell and wants a seat you would think someone would help her out. I can't stand the way these rail companies charge you a fortune for a ticket yet can't be arsed to put on trains big enough. Any empty first class seat should be made available to anyone forced to stand.
  7. They really have got such a sh!te deal out of Tescos there. It's amazing that all through their "successful" years they were sat on that land and did nothing - now they have lost it and are land-locked. The obvious thing to have done would be to build a new ground where the Tescos is going then sell the old shed for redevelopment.
  8. Mate, you're 60 years old and offering people out on a football forum.
  9. I agree with what the opening post is saying but it is a pretty pointless thing to moan about. The ONLY way for a club like us to have any sort of success in today's game is with a stinking rich owner and by default they can do whatever they want, just like Chelsea and City's owners can. We are an irrelevance but that is the only way unless you have a Jack Walker type owner. As we don't, we either have what we have now or the constant threat or relegation and financial meltdown - I know what I would prefer every time.
  10. Sod taking 3 goalkeepers, in the history of the World Cup has a team ever needed to use all 3? I would take a punt and go with an extra striker. Goalkeepers - Hart, Foster Defenders - Cahill, Baines, Jagielka, Walker, Shaw, Johnson, Jones Midfielders - Gerrard, Wilshere, Milner, Lallana, Chamberlain, Carrick, Sterling, Henderson Strikers - Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert, Welbeck, Jay Rod
  11. Only pompey would spend money on increasing the capacity of a ground they don't get close to filling when they have got rid of their development team because of lack of money and don't even have a training ground. Without a sugar daddy the only way they are going to get out of the mess they are in is by finding and developing young talent. A new stand is going to mean f*ck all until they can occasionally fill their ground which would be Championship level - they are light years away from that.
  12. Alliance of British Drivers
  13. No way are Middlesborough bigger than Saints. What do they average in the Championship 16-17K?
  14. So you agree the Mail headline is incorrect then?
  15. You seriously can't see what is incorrect about the Mail headline? I do wonder about what sort of weirdos frequent this message board.
  16. No reason why not. I expect all the players will have performance bonuses as well.
  17. We didn't give a sh!te about the cup when Cortese was here either.
  18. We should arrange an open top bus parade for our 8th place finish so you and a handfull of other d!cks from here can line the streets and have a party.
  19. never heard of him
  20. Why would you need access to anyone's contract, the person with the contract has a mouth. I would be very surprised if there wasn't incentive based clauses in all the playing/management staff's contracts, especially given Cortese's banking background. Maybe the players don't get much for the cup - would explain why Wanyama ponced about like he didn't give a toss.
  21. Considering our league position it is bonkers that we didn't put more value on the cup. We will never be in a better position, safe from relegation, nothing to play for in the league, a strong first team and most top clubs out the cup. Really starting to lose interest in modern football, it's just about the money now. Very sad.
  22. I couldn't care less about Sunderland, our trophy cabinet is a ****ing disgrace. We've been around since 1885 and we have 1 major trophy. The same as Oxford United, Wimbledon, Luton Town, Barnsley, Oxford University and The Royal Engineers.
  23. Probably - and to be fair Lambert looked ****ged out today, I'm not sure I would pick him to play a tournament in the tropical heat of Brazil.
  24. But what other options have England got? Sturridge is by far our best striker at the moment. Rooney has been waddling around doing next to nothing, Welbeck - has even been playing recently? Carroll - done f*ck all. Lambert's form has not been as bad as some.
