Still no reason why training days couldn't take place during non-term days, there are plenty.
-
Isn't it 6 weeks at summer, two at Xmas, one at Easter plus 2 lots of half terms, plus the usual bank holidays?
-
It is amazing that they cannot fit a training day into their massive holidays. Or maybe even, god forbid, at the weekend. Just ingrained laziness IMO.

Surely if someone is in your house you are under attack? The way I see it if someone breaks into your house you cannot just assume they are unarmed just because you cannot see their weapon, your best way to be totally sure of your safety is to knock them unconscious or kill them. The important thing is you are stopping them being a threat, their death is irrelevant.

I think that is where you are wrong, the demographics of football have changed, it's now all about middle class families with money to blow (plenty of them round here) not working class males looking for a fight. And over the last few decades much of that open countryside has had things called houses built on round here, again filled with middle class families with plenty of disposable income. looking at stats history is not that relevant IMO.

I wonder how many people delighted at "winning" tickets will be sat there next year bored out of their skull after paying a fortune to watch something they wouldn't usually cross the road to watch? I mean athletics FFS, what is the usual sort of attendance for this boring sh!te?

We bought our way out of League 1, for a club the size of Saints with billionaire backers that is a piece of p!ss regardless of how well the chairman got on with agents. We are now competing for players with clubs who have similar budgets, it is possible that having a bad relationship with agents might mean we miss out on players. I'm not saying it is the case, just that ass kissing Cortese because he has annoyed some agents is a bit daft.
-
Writing a long list of names is as meaningless as the original Twitter comment. Unless you have a list of which players (if any) have walked away from negotiations because their agent has the hump.
-
Unless one of the people we are actually interested in has an agent who won't deal with us?
-
The problem could be that good players will probably have a whole load of clubs interested, if the player's agent does all the negotiating and doesn't want to deal with Saints we could miss out.
-
If it's true it's good that Cortese is no mug but not good if it means missing out on potentially good players. Impossible to judge either way from throw-away comments like that.
-
Most footballers are thick, they make money by being good at kicking things around with their feet - it makes sense to have an agent negotiate them the best deal with clubs, sponsors etc. I wouldn't read too much into those comments though, as soon as Saints had a billionaire owner I expect agents have been like flies around sh!t.
-
We would probably need two decades of success, major trophies and European football to average anywhere near 40K.
-
I agree the ticket policy was sh!t, but do you seriously think Cortese is going to start handing out tickets for a fiver in the Prem?
-
Considering he only managed to flog 28K for the massive Man Utd game last season he might want to have a re-study.
-
The one game we sold over 32K tickets for (Southend) was when Lowe wasn't there and we reached the play-offs and prices were cheap. Even then we only managed one sell out, not exactly demand for a bigger ground.
-
I think we spent 4 years in the championship and only sold out once. Dumb thread.

This is a tough one, through my job I have seen public sector wastage first hand and it is annoying how some seem to think they have a god given right to a secure job and gold plated pension whilst I have little job security and can't even afford a pension. BUT, many of those effected are going to be the low paid and it doesn't seem fair that they should pay for the bankers mistakes, especially as the banks continue to rake in billions in profits and hand out billions in bonuses among themselves. IMO the worlds economy is about to go through a massive re-adjustment, it's simply not sustainable. Too many people taking millions without contributing any value to society.

The sun spot thing is good news, might actually buy us enough time to sort man made climate change out, probably not though.

Championship fixtures released - Leeds at home first

Shame we don't meet the skates earlier. -
Are they being blamed though? I thought all this was about some Canadian copper advising some students to "avoid dressing like sluts". Why would a policeman give that advice if dressing like sluts made no difference?
-
This is a tough one because I am all up for giving aid to 3rd world aid and think we should give a lot lot more. BUT, it really p!sses me off how other countries do so little. Richer countries than us are gaining an unfair competitive advantage and basically sitting back and doing naff all to help the World's poorest. It's the same when some middle eastern sh!t hole needs military intervention, we are always the mugs that do the dirty work. This country needs a MAJOR change in attitude. We are not a colonial power any more, we are just a small skint island off the coast of Northern Europe. Other countries problems are nothing at all to do with us.

Animals rape all the time. We've just got a new male rabbit and he's ****ged the female one all over the place despite obviously being not up for it having been spayed. ****ged her face and everything. Humans are just highly evolved monkeys, the vast majority of which manage to keep their natural urges under control.

Is there any to suggest they don't?

Pretty impressive stats for Beattie, better than Berkamp.
