Informant admits that he lied about Iraq's WMD program
aintforever replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Lounge
Because Iraq’s proven oil reserves of about 112 billion barrels, the world’s second largest behind Saudi Arabia, couldn't possibly be motivation. -

The refusal to sell a season ticket at Southampton FC

None of these issues with Cortese is important in the whole scheme of things. The only important things a football club chairman has to do is a) find a good manager (tick) and b) Find funds for the manager (tick). He has made some mistakes, the 4 things St Jason mentioned could all have been handled batter, that is without doubt. he obviously has little understanding of the culture of English football and the nature of the fans - hopefully that will change through time because these PR gaffs will do nothing to help SFC. -
It's fine being omnivores, what's ****ed up is how our governments let animals get treated this way in our farms. The video showed extreme cases but even "acceptable" farming practices in this country are disgustingly cruel.

Even if they have changed there is no harm keeping them on the register just in case.

Face it, humans are c*nts.

Informant admits that he lied about Iraq's WMD program
aintforever replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Lounge
Rubbish, I definitely remember Saddam repeatedly saying he didn't have any WMDs. -
Apparently they played rugger on it not long ago so it was looking like a cow field anyway.

Charlton losing will be massive for us. We need Powell's honeymoon to end ASAP.

I think she has a case, "irritating to skin" is not exactly accurate is it. -
Nice gesture, well done Nicola and the club.

Retarded PR for SFC. Sorry, the company that currently runs SFC.
-
That is pretty much undeniable.

There were some embarrassingly sh!te songs on Saturday but we shouldn't forget that the Northam is by far the best part of the ground in terms of support. The noise that comes from the other parts of the ground is very poor.

I think the reason Puncheon left us is obvious, he knew Prem and Championship clubs were interested so didn't fancy slumming it in league 1.

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
aintforever replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
Jesus Christ, talk about trying to create an issue when there isn't one. As if Lawrie Mac is familiar with 18th century, Italian, Noble Christian names! He obviously meant Lowe. Nicola in England is mainly associated with female chavs, Rupert is a classic posh name. I think it is even slang for "posh officer" in the Army. -
What was cost effective under Lowe would be vastly different to what would be now.

Think it was the Ex-Saints charity, they are as much part of the club as anyone currently working for the company IMO.
-
When you look back on what he achieved it was remarkable. Even though it was a different era money wise to win the cup, get us 2nd in the League and sign the European Football of the year. Bates built the club but Lawrie put it on the map. I always remember a mate from Manchester at Uni saying how when he was a kid the first season he really got into football was the 1983/4 one when we finished runners up, 3pts behind Liverpool. He said during his childhood he thought we were one of the giants of the game alongside liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal etc. Fact is if you mention Southampton FC to any oldish football fan they will think of Keegan, Lawrie Mac, Le Tissier or Channon.
-
It's not really clear what he means, could well be a pop at the fans but not necessarily.
-
The club.

I thought I heard that sung! Bizarre, doesn't even make any sense because we don't play at St Mary's every week. It must either mean something sexual or they go and sit in an empty stadium every other week. Dumb ***ts.

He's entitled to his opinion, doesn't make him a moron. In his case he had a point because he proved the ST installment decision wasn't based on admin costs and that turned out to be true because Cortese lated said it was due to people not paying. I don't remember reading a post from anyone who says they want Cortese to go, problem is if you question any of his decisions you get jumped upon. It's just like when a couple of people dared to question Michael Wilde. It's also like the Lowe thing but in reverse. If you dared to say anything good about the rosey-cheeked one you got battered on here.
-
I don't think anyone hates Cortese. I think you are confusing disagreeing with some of his decisions with hating. I don't think we should have started with Barnard on the bench on Saturday, I don't hate Adkins though.
