  1. Why are you retards still going on about Martin ONeil FFS. We're in Div 3.
  2. Maybe everyone disagrees with you but respect your right to an opinion. Shame you don't share that view.
  3. The team today played like one who had won 4-0, only to have their manager sacked. Cortese is ****ing clueless. It will probably take a while for the penny to drop for some tho.
  4. I don't think there is anything wrong in letting Cortese know he has ****ed up in sacking Pardew. The way they played it was obvious the players agreed with the Northam monkeys.
  5. The obit in the Independant was an interesting read.... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/markus-liebherr-entrepreneur-who-saved-southampton-fc-2063201.html Apparently some in Switzerland were put out that he invested in a foreign team but he saw Saints as a "once-in-a-lifetime deal" and had to act quick.
  6. But he did predict Pardew's sacking.
  7. If the situation stays the same the photographer ban will only mean we get less money in sponsorship/advertising revenue - that is screamingly obvious to anyone who knows anything about advertising.
  8. Unless you are Mrs Cortese, you are talking out your ass.
  9. He was a big Rochdale fan I think.
  10. Has been brilliant for Bournemouth, would be no more of a gamble than someone like Shearer or Zola. I would be concerned at how well he could handle the pressure/expectations though.
  11. I don't believe the rumour, it's all too convenient. Pardew ****ged a players missus, and oh yeah the other sacked people were all in a drinking club. Fitzhugh Fella posted on here ages ago that he was a dead man walking. IF there was an incident, it was just used as an excuse IMO.
  12. True, also don't assume there is any truth in rumours posted on the internet.
  13. Hammond has pretty much said that there was no problem with Pardew. I find it hard to believe Cortese would ditch the manager he wants because he "approached" some tart, doesn't really fit with his "win at any cost" style. And the drinking club sackings just sound like made up nonsense.
  14. There's good reason as well, basically newspapers want GOOD photos and the more photographers (and better photographers) there are the more likely they will get better photos. If they have to rely on one club photorapher, probably some local inbred with a Cannon EOS400 sat at the wrong end of the pitch they wont get the pics they want. Alternatively the club could pay a host of top photographers for each game and hope that something interesting happens so they can make some money. But if no papers want pics from the 0-0 draw with Wigan they will lose out.
  15. I would join Dog and the train - awful manager.
  16. So in the hope of maybe making a few hundred quid a game by flogging photos (unlikely) we will: Lose money through lack of sponsorship - having no pictures in any paper will devalue next season's shirt sponsorship and pitch side advertising. Lose publicity - once the lego/cartoon stories die down we will just not be featured as much. Publicity helps promote the club and get fans into SMS. Have the press more likely to stick the knife in, print stories unsettling players etc By ****ing off Murdoch risk having no games shown live on Sky (was about £200K-300K per game when we were in Prem). I was told by someone at the club that last season's JPT semis and Skate FA Cup game netted us £1mill in total, partly because they were televised. Look like a bunch of tossers.
  17. What rumour is the true one then?
  18. Official club photographers are allowed in, they just can't sell to press.
  19. I would go for Tony Mowbray, good track record and managed at a higher level. Eddie Howe would be my choice if we had a long term plan and a chairman with patience. I would fear for Howe under Cortese's "instant success or bullet" pressure. If not Mowbray I think either a big name like Shearer or Zola, or someone who's had the pressure before like Brown or Dowie could get us promoted.
  20. I just find it worrying that we have the worst manager in Charlton's history advising our chairman on football.
  21. To be fair you made similar lengthy rambling justifying our lunatic chairman appointing a rugby coach, and then again when with the total football with kids approach. You were completely wrong on both occasions.
  22. Does anyone know how much the club get every time they are shown live on Sky? I know when we were in the Prem it used to be between £200k & £300K per game - would have to sell a hell of alot of pics to make that sort of cash.
  23. Yeah, **** of the same people who own Sky TV - genius. How much does(did) the club get every time they are(were) shown live on Sky?
  24. You are right in that they are giving SFC more column inches than they previously would have had but I think by highlighting Cortese's dopey decision they make it easier for all the other media to give us the cold shoulder. For example if we actually do anything newsworthy (unlikely) like win 9-0 with a Lambert triple hat-trick, some newspapers might have thought it would warrant putting a pic in. If all their readers are aware of the Cortese situation, and the paper knows it's competitors wont use a pic there is no need to bother buying one off SFC.
  25. I agree, failure to understand football fans is definitely one of Cortese's problems. I wouldn't say it was his biggest though.
