I would have a scheme where all people on job seekers have to work 3 days a week to receive their allowance (litter picking, cleaning graffiti etc), special jobs would be arranged for those on incapacity. Only the severely disabled wont have to earn their money. Also the tax system needs to be sorted so that lower paid workers are much better off than anyone on benefits.

5.25/1 at William Hill for Skates to go down and Saints to go up - might be worth a flutter. I think it will be tough for them even if they don't get a points deduction.
-
Why do Saudi Arabia think they have the right to exempt people in France to do anything - bizarre.
-
I know 2 people on incapacity benefit - both could work if they wanted to but choose not to because when you do the sums they are almost as well off just sat on their arse. I don't blame them either, why bust your arse in some dull job when you don't have to. The system needs to change.

That is a fantastic read: "It began with Portsmouth's utter lack of appeal beyond England's southern shores, resulting in an announced crowd of just 8,987" " Portsmouth got stuck in Chicago because of a flight cancellation and didn't arrive in Washington until Saturday morning. The players made it; their uniforms did not." "Australian forward Danny Allsopp needed just 30 minutes to equal his scoring total in 12 MLS appearances (two goals) and finished with a hat trick. " "Once we found our rhythm and started going at them, they decided to foul us on every other play." "After David Nugent missed a sure equalizer from six yards, Quaranta squared the ball to Allsopp, whose first touch was too heavy. He recovered possession, however, carved some space and neatly side-footed a 10-yarder into the lower right corner." "It was hot," United defender Carey Talley said, "and they were grumpy." LOL - It looks like this summer is just a mere break in the ongoing pompey comedy show.

I would still build the carriers but pull out of pointless wars abroad like Afganistan and scale back the forces accordingly. The new Trident is a complete waste of money, just keep the old one. Might work, might not - either way it's still a deterrent.

I'm pretty sure that survey was done on-line, and as such is complete ******.

No, we've got a billionaire. If we sell Lallana we just buy a better one, that's how it works now.
-
I agree, we were dog **** last season until we added Papa Waigo and Antonio. Pace up front is vital.
-
Of course League games are more important but the end of last season will be a distant memory come the Plymouth game, surely if a "winning mentality" is so important then the results of ALL games matter. A professional competitor should want to win all the time, wether it's jumpers for goal posts or a cup final.
-
Pre-season matches have traditionally meant nothing, but many on here and indeed Pardew have continually banged on about a "winning mentality". If losing pre-season doesn't matter then that mentality stuff is all nonsense too.

He was walking home from work. In the video he is walking - why do you think he was doing otherwise?
-
I suspect if someone had pushed and killed a policeman then the outcome would be slightly different. the rozzer should have been at least sacked for that
-
"There are teams in league 1 who have the pedigree to beat us most definitely" That's a bit arrogant considering teams we lost to last season included Tranmere, Gillingham, Brighton and Bristol Rovers.
-
So despite massive investment in players, winning the club's first trophy in decades and the club expected to walk the league - season ticket sales are roughly the same as last year. Obviously there could have been much more if handled differently.

I wonder if this is actually true.... "Image rights and VAT reclaiming from fees paid to agents are the main areas of interest. In the case against Pompey the taxman is claiming £13,293,651.72 for just this type of evasion. Stupidly it seems that the almost unknown players involved in this are players like Tal Ben Haim,John Utaka and Lauren. For the same period of time it is estimated that Manchester United, which is one of the biggest clubs in the world, would have a bill worth approximately £5.3 million. United can probably claim that the £760,000 they pay Wayne Rooney every six month is worth the expence. But how do Pompey justify £1.7 million that they are supposedly still owing Sol Cambell." Surely if the numbers don't add up re:Image rights then it is a simple case of tax evasion.

A new English national anthem... where do you stand?

That's it's appeal, it reminds the colonies or our superiority. It also reinforces the fact that Wales and Scotland are just conveniently placed pieces of land that England chooses to own. -
I don't think you can have a legal right to appeal - then be sued because you made an appeal.
-
The Football League/FA must be well chuffed with Pompey. Hopefully they will look to make an example of the cheats, just like HRMC are.

I thought if the creditors accept it you get a CVA, if they don't accept it you don't get a CVA and get the -17 but you exit admin on your terms - that's why the points penalty is there, to stop people blowing off debt like Leicester did.
-
But once he buys it out of admin it will be debt free. I expect there will still be some parachutes left after the footie debt is paid off. He will own a debt free club, the ground and I expect (after a deal with gaydamak) all the land round it. He will easly find a buyer.
-
Surely Chanrai would be better off buying without a CVA anyway. Pay 1p in the pound, hang on until this time next year, pocket the rest of the parachutes and sell up. Wether pompey get -17 and go down or not wont make a huge difference to him.
-
Excellent stuff! The irregular South Coast weather continues, this time the experts predicts months of glorious warm summer sunshine in Southampton and -17 in Portsmouth.
-
Think that's what they did with Leeds.
