That was just an example, people from many countries died in 9/11. It's either a Worldwide problem or it's not. If Cortese was in charge of our armed forces he would have pulled out immediately and sent the rest of Europe an invoice for work undertaken on their behalf.
-
10,000 or 19,000, it's still more than many other country's. Islamic terrorism is a Worldwide problem, it's Sweden's as much as ours. You are right it is 10K, France can only muster 3,750, Belgium 575, and the good old Irish can only manage to get hold of a mighty 6. Sounds fair to me.
-
I don't suggest everyone pull out, just us. NATO can replace our troops with other country's. For example, according to Wikipedia we have 19,500 there, Sweden have 530. It's time to even things out a bit.

Colonial or not, we seem to stick our noses in where it's not wanted more than most countries. Afganistan is a problem but it is a World problem, not ours. We should withdraw ALL our forces immediately and just let someone else do it, we have more than played our part for a country of our size. It's complete lunacy talking about defense cuts while we're over there shooting millions of pounds worth of stuff at a bunch of shepherds. Cut 1 should be cut and run - then start doing the maths.
-
It is weird how some managers do really well then just turn cr@p.
-
Iraq and Afganistan must have cost a fortune and they are countries on the other side of the planet that should not concern us. I agree with the afgan war in principle but we should only have a token force there like many countries.
-
We obviously spend way too much on defence, we've got to get over this old colonial attitude where we feel the need to **** about in other people's countries. We are just a small skint island of the northern coast of Europe. So what if Iran and Korea have nukes - it's none of our business.

Plymouth rag annoyed at SFC - non-SFC photographers refused entry to SMS

I'm not bothered about the press, it's more what dumb decisions like this say about our chairman. -
The problem is nowadays if you throw a bog roll on the pitch you will be caught n CCTV throwing a "missile" arrested, thrown in Jail and be crucified by the nerds on here.

It seems pretty clear how it works from that article... "As a media team, we do our best to make journalists, broadcasters, photographers and officials from visiting clubs welcome." Makes more sense than each club banning other photographers then making them pay for pics. Any money the club makes it will have to spend for pics any way. -

"The official stance is that the club are unhappy with external organisations using images of their players. Open up today's match programme and you will find pictures of Peter Reid, Carl Fletcher and Bondz N'Gala, pictures taken by Disco Dave and used by Southampton without our permission." Ban other photographers then use their photography in your own matchday programme - nice one Nicola. -
Unless they take into account luck, lack of effort and standard of performance and still think it's worth booing?

I'm booing this thread right now

We desperately missed Antonio and Papa IMO. Not enough pace up front. If we are serious about promotion we will have to bring some players in. At the moment the squad is weaker than last year.

Bet we don't make a penny from this, the nationals wont give a **** if they have a picture of a Saints player in or not. Local papers will not buy any out of principle. This is probably just all about Princess Nicola's tiff with the Echo, he probably expects their photographer to get banned from away games. I expect it annoys him that there is nothing he can do to spite the Echo at away games. I agree with the Plymouth article, it's an insult to football fans. -

I think you will find fans taking pics is a bit different to press. -

Until we go play in Plymouth and the roles are reversed. -
Dunno, hopefully if Storrie gets done for tax evasion that will give them an excuse. The other clubs will be after blood and they can change the rules whenever they want like they did with Leeds.
-
I still think the Football League will give them a points penalty this season.

cheating ****s

I'm glad the other premier league club's attitude is now out in the open: "The other clubs wanted "to boot Pompey out there and then", Sheldon said. He added: "The clubs wanted Portsmouth to go to the wall and divide all the TV money among themselves."" Rest assured that's exactly how the other Football League clubs will be thinking, even if they escape this court case they will still be penalised IMO.

Has to be Beattie's first in the Carling Cup game, the atmosphere was electric.

I don't think they will liquidate if the CVA fails, it's just Chanrai's scare tactics.
