  1. Every club that has ever been punished has been because of the activities of the people running it. They commit fraud, the club commits fraud - that is how it works.
  2. Not really, Southampton FC who owns the share was never in admin or liquidated, and it was done in the summer when all clubs apply for their share. Like I said above, if it's OK to liquidate your club and start a new one mid season why bother going into admin and get a points deduction?
  3. "The process will involve moving key assets such as FA membership, players, and image rights – essentially the “business of football” – to a new company next year. CVA payments will be paid from the new company to the creditors of the old business." Surely there has to be a points deduction for doing this mid season, otherwise any club that gets in financial problems can just set up a new company and liquidate without bothering with administration.
  4. Correct, that was too easy I suppose. I thought people wouldn't remember that dodgy kit!
  5. When was the last season that there was no team in the top flight wearing red and white stripes?
  6. Chanrai has got the creditors over a barrel. Because of the way they have structured the debt here is no chance of anyone else buying the club and because of the parachute payments there is nothing to gain from liquidating the club so they can force through a CVA that fleeces everyone. Chanrai will get a CVA that suits him, he will bleed the carcass dry for a year or two then they will probably be in admin again some time in the near future.
  7. Wrong, plenty of clubs don't have a wealthy backer. In fact last year was the first season I have ever supported a team that has had one.
  8. I think his point is that if you are German you can also be black/white/mixed race/asian origin - you're not being racist by insulting Germans. Anyway, where's our ****ing Season Tickets.
  9. So goalkeepers studying technique does make a difference. Some players blast it, other wait for the keeper to move etc. That's why having a mock shoot out against Mexico is a dumb idea.
  10. Maybe, I still think it would help the opposition keeper if they see how players like Ferdinand, Walcott etc take their kicks, not all the England players take penalties for their clubs. Also if England do a mock shoot out against Mexico tonight and completely **** it up it's just going to add to the doubts/pressure.
  11. I disagree, that was one of Woodward's ideas, sound in theory but all you are doing is giving every opposition World Cup keeper a chance to study the technique of our best penalty takers. I would follow Mat Le Tiss's (who also used to practice alot) example and create pressure by paying the keepers for every save they make in training.
  12. IF that's true, it's still well paid for pouring tea IMO
  13. I wish they told me at school I could earn 56K pouring ****ing tea. I wouldn't have bothered with the whole go to uni then work my ass off in London developing a career using my brain thing. In any normal workplace the **** who makes the tea is the lowest paid.
  14. So for pushing a trolly (or not as it seems) and serving tea you can earn more than a soldier getting shot at in Afganistan, or a policeman, fireman or nurse. And they have the nerve to go on strike!
  15. 56 grand for organizing a bunch of waitresses, **** me.
  16. That's nonsense, just like a golfer practices his putting, they should practice them religiously every day until taking the perfect penalty becomes second nature meaning nerves have less effect when under pressure.
  17. 42 grand for pushing a ****ing trolly around a ****ing aeroplane! That can't be right?
  18. I think if a company is losing as much money as BA is the directors are entitled to make whatever changes they want. If my company was doing a similar thing I would be grateful to have a job. I think what is happening now is a sign of things to come. People are happy to talk about the recession but when it comes to having to make changes themselves (ie: work harder for less) then they are not prepared to do sacrifice anything. I think we can expect similar things when the Tories rightly start laying of teachers, police etc.
  19. Most pompey fans live in a dreamworld that's why, some still think you will have England's keeper in goal next season despite being one of the poorer Championship clubs. The entire time you were in the Prem you were not run as a business, even under Mandric you were bankrolled, it's no wonder so many skates don't have a clue. It will be a serious wake up and smell the coffee time for you skates next season, without the parachutes you have the spending power of a Barnsley or Bristol City.
  20. They are obviously mainly nut-jobs but maybe causing a scene and getting attention from the media is the best way to get the immigration problem on the agenda? Peaceful protest and rational debate is obviously the preferable way to resolve these issues but most of the youths in that programme appear to be frustrated because no one seems to listen or give a monkeys what they think. Write a letter to your MP - the tosser probably wont even bother to read it. Write a letter to the local paper - they probably wont publish it through fear of offending someone. Go on a march and smash up a town centre - You get national media coverage and they are discussing your issues on Question Time.
  21. I would laugh my nuts off if Calamity was made manager.
  22. I that Echo story does is highlight the fact that Council workers have way way too much time on their hands. To even give a **** about some flags means their work load is not enough to justify their employment - roll on the Tory's cuts.
  23. Plenty of clubs have set up under a new company name before and still got their share but I don't think it has ever happened mid-season so at the very least I would guess it leaves the door open for a points penalty. The FL will be itching to slap a penalty on them. As we, Leeds, Bournemouth etc found out they only need half an excuse. If you can liquidate a company and just set up a new one mid season without a penalty then surely club's won't ever go into administration again?
  24. That's what happens when you try and force West Ham to take on one of your sh!t overpaid defenders. I wonder how many of their other players they won't even be able to give away?
  25. The velodrome looks great, but as you say we already have a great one in Manchester which has made us the best in the World so I don't really see the need for more. The new hospital in Barnet cost £40mill (all be it in 2003), I would rather have two new hospitals than a really pretty looking cycling track. If you are one of the hundreds of thousands who regularly enjoy watching track cycling you might disagree, but that is my opinion.
