Probably because Stanis have a reputation for being tight.

Hopefully HRMC will do all they can to get Pompey shut down just to make an example. If the FA Cup finalists go out of existence then the football authorities might take notice and make paying HRMC part of the football debt - as it should be.

Regardless of wether his treatment of his Aide or what he said was wrong, the fact that he got caught saying this stuff because he forgot he had a TV microphone on shows him up for being the fool he is. Brown is an unelectable scottish ****wit.

I'm sure he will be popular with the female voters now! What he said comes across as sexist IMO.
-
If we had carried on signing loan players after he left and we knew we were skint, whilst at the same time stealing from local cancer charities - I think we would all think of the club as cheating.

BNP obviously have racist policies, but that doesn't mean you have to be a racist to vote for them, just like you can vote for Labour without agreeing with all their policies.
-
I don't see why HRMC would settle for 23p in this case when previously they have always opposed anything other than full payment. It sets a dangerous precedent for them if football clubs know they can just not pay their tax, blow it off by going into admin and then just buy the club back. I think HRMC would prefer to set an example.

Is this thread serious or just a **** take?

I don't think it really matters if they have the right legally, as we found out they are a private members club and can do whatever they want. We didn't break any rules when our parent company went into admin but they penalised us, Leeds got a CVA but because HRMC contested it in court they were deducted points anyway. if they want to deduct points from pompey they will, and there will be no chance of appeal from the blue few. What the skates have done is much worse than Leeds so I would expect at least -17.
-
Eddie Howe has done an amazing job down there, rarely being able to put the full amount of subs out because of the embargo. I'm glad they have been promoted, makes the slog of next season slightly more appealing.

If it's liquidated they won't get £50mill in parachutes so probably not. But I suppose it must depend on the size of the football debts and how much Chanria will have to blow trying to get a CVA and keep the club running. And at the moment it looks like they won't see any parachutes until 2012, so as a secured creditor Chanrai might prefer to liquidate it as I think then he's first in line and there will be no need to pay the football debt.

This Andronikou is getting more and more like the Iraqi Information Minister every day. It explains why fools like Corp Ho are so deluded, listening to that nonsense every day only to come on here and get their bubble burst. How can there be any surprise that they are not going to be let into Europe. Their appeal for not meeting the deadline to prove they are solvent, was based on the fact that they are not solvent!
-
Surely if the football debts get to a certain size then Chanrai would be better off liquidating the company, because then I assume he, as a secured creditor would be first in line and the football people can join the scrum with all the other unsecured. I expect much depends on the size of the parachute money, that is by far their greatest asset and they need to keep running as a football club to get it. Ifit's 50mill then it should easily cover the football debt and make it worthwhile for Chanrai to buy the club back. It's certainly not worth anyone other than Chanrai buying the club. There's also the Gaydamak issue. Someone said on here that at this meeting it will be accept Chanrai's CVA or bust, Gaydamak can block a CVA so if he wants to liquidate PFC he could do.
-
So pompey ripped off of schools, charities, small local businesses and St John's Ambulance so they could recruit players in January to knock us out the cup. Nice. Those cheating ****ers will get what they deserve.

I'm just amazed that a company can so easily avoid paying tax and wriggle their way out of it and just as amazed that the authorities let them bring their OWN administrator in to fix everything to their benefit. No wonder this country is broke. The good thing is though, all the people involved just want their money out. pompey are ****ed if Chanrai gets away with it, ****ed if he doesn't. Also what they have done is worse than Leeds so I would be amazed if they don't get a bigger points penalty.
-
The good thing is Leeds originally had a CVA agreed by more than 75% but still ended up with a points penalty so you can see a similar thing happening to pompey IF over 75% agree a CVA. Also, if they do manage to stitch up the tax man and get away with no points penalty (highly unlikely given that they owe more in tax than what Leeds did), their parachutes are as good as spent already so they will still be toast, unless someone wealthy buys them.
-
The way I see it is Chanrai is a secured creditor so it makes sense for him to buy it back, otherwise whoever buys the dump will have to shell out 100% of whats owed to Chanrai, 100% of football debts and a percentages of their other debt mountain - in other words, alot of cash for not alot of football club. If Chanria bought it back he would only have to settle the footie debt and give the tax man etc 1p in the pound then he would own the club outright debt free, milk it for what's left of the parachutes then flog it. I'm guessing if the football debt is more than what the clubs worth Chanrai could make more money by liquidating it completely, then I suppose he's first in line for the dosh and football debts are not important as there is no club.
-
But they only need 75% of creditors to agree a CVA and I expect they have fixed it so Chanrai and Gaydamak account to 76% so whatever the others want doesn't matter. Chanrai will buy it back, that is obvious.
-
It's pretty easy to draw a line, if you've ****ed off you should have no vote IMO.
-
It's not going to be hard considering the main creditors are Gaydamak and Chanria. CHEATS
-
Clubs up and down the country have timed the admin to suit their circumstances, yet many on here think Southampton and poor old Rupes are a special case. Lowe could easily have put us in admin before the deadline, the administrator said so himself.

The surge in Lib Dem support is going to be very bad news for Labour IMO. I doubt many Tory voters will go over to Lib Dem but I can see the labour vote being split, especially as they will also lose voters to the Greens and BNP in some areas. Expect some Tory victories in seats they would not expect to win, also expect a much higher turnout from the Tory supporters this time around sealing victories in their usual seats.

UK Independence Party:57% British National Party: 54% Conservative Party:45% Liberal Democrats:37% Green Party:37% Labour Party:31% Weird considering I'm going to vote Lib Dem

The extra cash should just be handed out evenly to all FL clubs, could go some way to stopping smaller teams going into admin or out of business. A few hundred grand goes a long way for a struggling league 2 club.
