i'm in exactly the same boat. the solution is that i haven't purchased season tickets and have to put up with paying the expensive match day prices when i can afford it. If the club could offer a discount for bulk purchasing tickets to five home matches in one go or somehting, then i'd be happy with that.

How is essentially reserving two seats, but only using one, a responsible practice? Surely you're minimising the number of seats available to other fans? I know we're not quite in danger of selling out the ground just yet, but if an element of people start doing this in popular areas of the ground, then ticket choice will become artificially limited.
