What is most disappointing is how we seemed powerless to stop Stoke once they piled the pressure on.
From the point at which Guly missed it was all Stoke really, and as the game progressed we naively hoofed the ball upfield, straight back to them.
We wanted to be keeping hold of the ball and making the most of our extra man, but we couldn't do this as they had us camped so deep in our own half.
Our substitutions were defensive and seemed to exacerbate the situation. I don't know if it's as simple as saying we should have gone for it a bit more, but we certainly ended up playing into the hands of Stoke (a bigger, stronger side) tactically for the last twenty minutes or so.
