  1. Thank you for that I checked the parking when I booked the tickets yonks ago and parking at the bowl was sold out.
  2. I’m going to be cheeky, but remain on subject, we’re off to the Ageas Bowl tomorrow night for the Hundred, anyone got any recommendations not involving a massive hike.
  3. Evening all We have tickets for a couple of the Hundred games coming up - not been to the Ageas Bowl for quite a few years, so just looking for recommendations for parking not a million miles away - the long gone sporting days of Mrs JBS have caught up with her hips. Thanks in advance
  4. Plenty of places around the ground - if you’re early some free roadside parking on the trading estate near Shamrock Quay, few businesses charge £7-£10 to park in their yard round there. Think some folk park for free in the Northam Business park just over the Northam Bridge. some food for thought
  5. My words to Mrs JBS "Ah Season Ticket is here, along with another bit of tat I can wear to stand out in the crowd as a fan of worth..........not!". At least the packaging is mostly recyclable.
  6. He also needs to get his head out of the WSL - go and find any local ladies team - The Premier League would destroy it. 1500 people from Wolverhampton and Southampton made an effort to traipse flipping miles to Stockport to watch the 3rd Tier play off final. I can’t see Saints turning away other Championship teams fans this season. We played Pompey at SMS with nye on 5000 in attendance and it think we only saw 2-3 Coppers, the banter was good natured with the Skate fans, and their players showed respect when we were presented the Championship Trophy. There is an appetite to watch the women’s game, but Wrighty saying the Premier League should be involved, and mentioning grass roots football, the premier league could not give a toss about grass roots football. Watching Saints Ladies is a refreshing change, like watching England has been these past few weeks. A few troglodytes on here find it amusing to make comments akin to “I’d rather shit in my hands and clap” ……….grow up or keep your thoughts to yourselves.
  7. You need to re think the left wing - isn’t Falque one of theirs on loan to us? 😜
  8. Yup - Adams can hold the ball up but those around him have to be proactive enough and quick enough to benefit. Watching Liverpool yesterday, Diaz and the new lad Nunez, when they get in the groove they are going to be horrible to face as they are quick thinking and direct. They will also buy Salah some more time to do his stuff (might be like the front line of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar at Barcelona!). Not having eye watering sums to pay out on players we have to trim our expectations and Hope some of our recent acquisitions shine.
  9. Think its pretty much settled that Saturday evening Leeds game - has given him the right to be considered to be seated in the echelons of Saints Fans favouritism. The majority of us know where we sit in he grand scheme of things, and realise that the likelihood of getting a Shilton or Banks between the sticks is mere musings in the smoke from the pipe of life.
  10. Well the KNVB are now paying the Ladies national team the the same as the full men’s Dutch team.
  11. And probably had instructions to get a feel for everyone around him as he still has the half of the plastic thingy (that’s always left behind) in him where the price tag was.
  12. Just as an aside and on the flip side Snaffling Lee Barnard from the clutches of Leeds from Southend - they had their programme all printed up welcoming him to Leeds for the game the same night he was possibly sat on the bench for us having gazumped them at the 59th minute of the eleventh hour. Right: carry on 😳
  13. Quite a few of the French Team play for Lyon serial Champions League winners - some of the inter play when their tails were up first half was impressive. There was no doubt they lifted their foot of the gas second half as the game was won. Doubt many teams will be keen to play them.
  14. There’s a face that says “I’ve won the lottery!”. of sorts.
  15. It’s quite funny reading this, I know we can unearth some nuggets, I also know we aren’t Newcastle’esk money no object. But seeing £10m on the table is getting some folks moist. After some of the transactions made by our peers in the league recently, by comparison we do seem to be shopping at B&M Bargains, or Home Bargain at a pinch. Just got to hope that if we acquire some of these “tuppence ha’penny” players the new coaching set up can add the required polish to add the required lustre.
  16. Listening to Radio 2 on Saturday morning there is a guess the celebrity voice game on the Dermot O’Leary show. The successful listener to get through guessed Matty, Dermot building the tension of the game asked “is it the footballer and my nutty good friend Matt LeTissier” it wasn’t but O’Learys comment sound a bit strange. if his views are being listened to enough to put pennies in his pocket as an internet “influencer” then fair play to him.
  17. I think it’s in there already, we just don’t have the calibre of player around him to provide the opportunity to show it. You see glimpses of it when he plays for England with better players (although that’s debatable after this last week) but then he never gets a chance to build up a head of steam to show it because he never gets a run of games. In that position he is a far better player than Phillips.
  18. Makes you slightly fearful for our defence next season 🤪
  19. Now that would be Golden buzzer stuff on BGT - the whole of St Mary’s would be standing there catching flies when that Rabbit pops out of the hat! 🤪
  20. Ferret Wrestling would be good fun at half time - it would be a bit like the Police Alsatian taking down the “p*mpey fan” to great cheers
  21. “while talks remain ongoing with long-term servant Shane Long.” We’ll be announcing ground naming rights with McCarthy Stone soon. If he is staying we need to optimise his experience to getting the youngsters to do his Donkey work and he just pops up to……..score a goal. Different times but Peter Reid did that with us, he knew he didn’t have the legs anymore and he got either young Maddison or Widrington to receive the ball arc their run up the pitch, and he told them by the time they did that he would be in the right position in the box to receive the ball back. (That was a tale from many moons ago, from a late friend who knew Reid).
  22. I think we obviously differ on that, he worked hard but the spark dulled once he had signed on the dotted. However Rasiak I can agree with you on being blooming frustrating. As mentioned before, the Norwich game the night before going out on loan, as those around us commented on his performance "there's going to be a man waiting in the tunnel with a bottle to be pee'd in!".
  23. Now there's a player who played like his life depended on it when he was on loan with us, made the loan permanent, then pretty much popped on his slippers and stoked up his pipe.
  24. Walker looked like about the only player who cared
  25. Doubt there will be as the present leader of the of the country has our Dragan marked as a bit of an enemy of the state.
