Which shows a couple of things; players progress at different rates and if the player is technically able he can reach a decent standard. I'm sure when Tomas was with us he didn't really want to be or there was some other issue as he was pants for us but there were glimmers of ability.

The Championship - far too unpredictable?
Doctoroncall replied to Crazy Diamond's topic in The Saints
It's really too early to tell what is likely to happen as said by the OP - it's too difficult to judge. Not only because the eveness of the teams throughout but with no outstanding team. Perhaps at the beginning of August when Birmingham, Cardiff and Watford have had their managers installed and the majority of transfers (in and out) have taken place it'll be easier to predict. Currently my top six would be: West Ham, Reading, Forest, Ipswich, Leicester and Hull and bottom six: Watford, Peterborough, Millwall, Coventry, Crystal Palace and Barnsley. (The skates will cheat again!) -
Is that list based on police arrest figures at the game or just your assessment? Where's SRS when you need him.

Have to agree. The best image by far but wording needs to be simple.

Don't you mean your son's spots!

What aspect was wrong? The combo with the picture or too long a sentence etc.

There have been 12 transfers of players to championship clubs since the start of June.

Are you sure it isn't Atkins.

Just a slight alteration to a great post. First there must be some plausable hypothesis proposed before evidence is gathered.

I think you're right. I'm not sure if it's because of the Webster ruling were he was allowed to invoke Article 17 of the FIFA transfer regulations. There is now minimum and maximum contracts (1-5 years) with protected periods of 3 years for under 28 year olds and 2 years for over 28 year olds. Tapped out on my computer keyboard ;-)

Such as? The last one that I heard was Bostock from Crystal Palace to Spurs (2008 ). They got a £700,000 fee for the highly rated youngster who they valued £2m minimum.

Nolan will be on £55k a season. That would be crazy for Saints to stretch to that sort of amount. Even half that, the player would have to be special to justify the expenditure.

Highly recommend Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathon Wilson. He also writes for the guardian football blog and has some interesting articles there. It goes through the history of tactics by formation. Easier read than one would think on a big book of tactics, also Saints get a mention too!

If only he could get his head (atitude, application and confidence) sorted out but he has some (if true)

Birmingham are being sensible

Is this the new quiz question instead of naming the seven dwarfs? Ashdown, Mullins, Rocha, Kanu, ... jeez, I'm struggling!

I would have expected Notts Forest to be challenging top 6 this season, if anything there is a little doubt as to how McLaren will fair as there will not be a sizable budget for him to work with. He spent a fortune at Middleborough to help them succeed.

Dambusters dog/code word changed to make it Politically Correct

I think this thread should be hypo'd. -
IIRC, the special tariff ends this year or will be reduced (there was an article in the DT a few months back). So anyone thinking about it should do it by the end of the year.

Skates, like other clubs, but only in this instance, will start the contract on the 1st July when the old one has run out. Why pay an extra month before you have to? Although why they don't announce the deal probably means one isn't in place.

This. I just don't rate him as a Manager, in his time in Scotland he bailed out before things went for a burton.

It's how the earth's atmosphere scatters the light from the sun. The gas in the atmosphere absorbs And then radiates blue light. Look up the Rayleigh process. Say hi to Deppo.

How do you know he doesn't? I don't think it fair to call him a knob because you didn't get his humour and besides he cannot defend himself on here. Option two for me, in Nicola we trust.
