HMRC are not a big creditor compared to Aviva and Barclays so a CVA (if required) will be approved without them.
-
Haha, I wish I had your faith in the FL! I did say if one (a CVA) is required. If you read the FL statement they say the other provisions of The League's insolvency policy also become effective.
-
If a CVA is required, then 75% of the creditors (in monetary terms) need to agree it. As it seems the creditors are happy with the terms from pinnacle to have exclusivity I would imagine a CVA will be approved. However, that will not stop the FL being imposing another penalty (likely to be 15 points) if they feel (or other clubs) that we've got an advantage. Obviously Leyton Orient would vote for further punishment!

And they still have us down in the CCC (club badges on the right): http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/ChampionshipHome/0,,10794,00.html Bloody amateur organisation! I'm going for A

I was surprised Jim Gannon is not up there as a realistic choice. Experienced at this level and used to a tight budget and playing youth in the first team. Let's face it MLT isn't going to manage as he has said many times. Other possibles: Stuart Baxter - Manages Finland but has stated he would like a change in English Football. Mates with Roy Hodgson and if he's as good as him, certainly worth a go. Aidy Boothroyd - Still without a job, did OK at Watford until servere budget constraints and trying to change style of football ended his stint there. John Hughes - Manager of Falkirk, has done wonders with keeping the club in the SPL and also a cup final appearance. Has said he would like to try the English League. Could be the next Owen Coyle!

What vendetta? This isn't some feud between posters and MJ. MJ hasn't exactly come across as a professional businessman in either takeover of Bornemouth AFC or Southampton FC from the two interviews posted. This forum would be a quiet place if everyone took your advice... or perhaps you can give us these "facts" in an unbiased way so we can see how good MJ is in this kind of business.
-
I think that is against FA/FL rules with regards owners of football clubs.
-
I'm sure Dyer was more interested in a move than willing to stay with us in League One.
-
If this was the Grand National I would say there is a furlong to go with one fence to jump.
-
From the interview, he was clear in his mind he was going to be part of the management team of Bournemouth AFC. It didn't happen and I only said I wasn't impressed with his interview technique or that he gave anything of substance. He may have played a part in getting Pinnacle to move quicker, however there were other interested parties.
-
What else has MJ shown? endeavour, willingness to do something... that will not get you far in business.
-
So what happened after the interview. Why did he not take on Bournemouth? I wasn't impressed with his interview technique, he came across as a man of little substance and too much waffle.

I had these to hand for some reason. These are the average attendance figures for the season up until November... Interesting to note that the biggest drop (%) is Birmingham, us and then Reading. It would also be interesting to see if they have changed and by how much over the full season and to see by fixture throughout the season: Team............. Ave '07-'08... Ave '08-'09... change.. As my brother is a creditor who is owed ~£25k, he's not particularly happy as it has a knock on effect that he cannot pay bills on time so effecting other firms. These are tough times and it doesn't just stop at SFC but many other companies down the line.
-
The biggest asset is the manager, get that piece right and it shouldn't cost too much to do well and get promoted.
-
If it was execution then the coaches should have kept things simple that they know the players could cope with.
-
Unfortunately I cannot see that stopping the FL adding to the penalty we already have through some obscure association (or pressure from other teams on the FL to seek 'justice').
-
How much of the fee did Saints actually get as there was a sell-on clause from the team (in T&T?) we bought him from.
-
I beleive he plays on the right.
-
A six fiigure sum has been accepted by Liverpool for Anderson (loaned to Swansea for their promotion year, then NF this season).

If You're Still Looking For a Scapegoat....
Doctoroncall replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Well, I'm sure there would have been a drop in attendance figures but what happen was rather stark in comparison to other clubs 26% vs 1% (I think). Even against similar clubs (size and recent relegation) the drop was around 10%. Ours was one of the worst. Yes with better results, attendances would have at least been maintained. I think it gave false hope that that amount of money could be spent, we were not in that much financial trouble and there was a lot of biging [sic] the frormer france u-19s captain up. -

I'm not sure how much influence Crouch had on affairs while he was involved while on the board, however he did make the decision to back Wilde in the beginning and pay-off the execs at the end of his time. His money is helping to keep the club in existance at the moment. Wilde was the catalyst that sped the decline which Lowe created by losing focus of the main objective (support first-team football) with his pet projects and the dutch revolution. Dave Jones was the CFO throughtout although I don't know his powers of veto so not sure of his influence or whether he just towed the line, however, Dicko seems to know more but will not let on. It is fair to say we could have been in League 1 with Lowe, but still with a club. It then comes to a point were a club this size has too many ongoings to support so assets would have to be sold. It's more difficult to see how it would have gone under Leon as cut backs were required - at least more would fans would have turned up and the 81% of turnover on player salary would have gone down with the return of the expensive loans that helped our survival in the CCC last season. It would have been interesting to see Pearson have a go at running the team as well. -

Good for you, I like your reasoning... there was me think Lowe masterminded everything Jones did and it was the otherway round -

If we are proportioning blame, then this is what I think: Wilde: 50% (set the course for disaster and then ran like a rat etc) Lowe 30% (ego got the better of him - he didn't actually know best) Askham: 11% (blinded by money, not what was best for the club) Crouch: 4% (caught between a rock and a hard place for a choice who to back but at least is providing funds in our hour of need) Barclays: 5% (don't understand their desire to pull the plug over a small amount having unilaterally reduced the overdraft last summer) -
Incredible! Brighton secure £93m from new owner!
Doctoroncall replied to Saint Fan CaM's topic in The Saints
Nice to see a club achieve something they set out to do. Has anyone seen the proposed stadium? At £93m it cannot be out-of-the-box like SMS. Still as the article states "The majority of the funding is to be provided in the form of interest-free loans" so that's quite a debt for a league one club.
