This season will be a walk in the park with record points if that's the case. Anything less and the fans will boo them of the pitch.

Yeovil Town sign Southampton youngster Bevis Mugabi
Doctoroncall replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
With the new elite academy structure it's good that the lower leagues are picking up the youngsters that don't make it through our academy. At least they have had a good standard of coaching and also with Saints a decent education. Hopefully a chance at this level can give him a different opportunity that he can make something out of. -

It's never been in doubt. This is their season.

It's strange as they had been bought by an American consortium last season. Let's see if they spend well getting players in or they are the money sucking ones?

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)

That looks much more likely. I was trying to think back at the advertisers at the match for the Euros to see if there were any betting companies advertising pitch side but couldn't remember! -

Apparently no gambling sponsors allowed for European matches. I haven't check official sources but what I've heard. -

Good news. I'm sure if he wasn't happy working with Puel, he wouldn't have signed. Also nice that he has influence further down the teams at the club and it helps produce a decent young keeper.

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons

I know. I have. It was a point of interest with the stats as most agree his best position is central and you're completely missed the point. -

The stats below came from a Liverpool fan who is creaming himself of watching Mané on the wing scoring a shed load of goals. Are the figures accurate? Yeah I hate those guys that are under 25, can score goals in bunches, and share company with Alexis Sanchez (only non-strikers to scored 10+ goals in each of the last two PL seasons), and can beat good teams singlehanded with his goals. I'm sure it's just coincidence that when he got moved off the second striker role, he started scoring again. Last year he scored 9 goals and 5 assists in 21 games on RW; 4 G, 2A in 6 games on LW, and 2G, 2A in 16 games at SS or AM in all appearances, including as a sub. If he plays all year as a winger and scores and assists at that rate, he'll be in the team of the season. 13G, 7A in 27 games is excellent. Add another 1/3 of production to it and you have 16G, 9A. That's fantastic for a winger in the PL. -
In Saints rise from League One to the Premier League he has been our best player. To illustrate his determined character, our second season in the PL there were some defensive lapses, mostly by Fonte. He didn't shy aware from responsibility but worked hard to improve his game and the lapses soon disappeared and he brings out the best in his CB partner. A worthy captain and role model at the club.

Very sad to hear the news of this terrible terrorist attack. Currently 84 dead including children. It would be a great gesture if the club supports the people of Nice in some appropriate way.

The worst thing for me is the quibbling the other clubs do on the amount they have to pay. Hopefully as the club become more stable and commercially more successful, if a player does want to leave the price will be closer to the full compensation the club sets rather than an acceptable one.
-
So expect another four to join, but any outfield players will only now come in when the useless three end their money sapping days with the mighty Pompey. Not the best bargaining position for the club to take if they really want some cash for them. If they do depart and get replaced, a total of 12 new faces can experience the same process as the previous set of players last season and the season before that... Where is trousers and his Groundhog Day picture?

Pelle Set to Leave For China - Telegraph
Doctoroncall replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
That's not correct. The club value investment and the cycle of attraction. Unfortunately it's difficult to see compared to the hard currency of transfers coming into the club. -
I suspect there was the Irish Cup to be won to add to the Asia Cup. Collecting geography cups is important to them.

After three years of league two football, you'd think they'd change their recruitment policy to help get promotion. But no, leave it to chance by having a bigger budget than the other clubs to spend in the hope of getting right combination of players in rather than identifying what to fix. Lovely.

I would suggest you look at the documentary mentioned to the Bosnian bloke and find out a bit more about the club you say you support if you don't think there is a difference and what changes matter and are managed.

It will be interesting to see who CP will put his faith in for the starting places and any youngsters he will encourage to be part of the first team selection. It maybe the case he sees something in a player to give him a chance. That may dictate any purchases the club will make. What is guaranteed is there will be some unhappy people! -

I have to admit I voted for behind the striker so I could see the poll when the link was posted and didn't want to inflate the wrong answers. -
Limited access only, there are tariffs for certain goods, loads of exceptions and regulations and there are no financial services passport. There will be lengthy negotiations and CETA maybe a starting point but will not be any good for us.
