If the club is still available on sat morning I will buy the club for 10mil and put aside 45 mil for the next 4 years kitty. This is of course dependant on me winning the jackpot on the euro millions and knowing who i could get in as CEO cause i wouldnt have the 1st idea on how to run the club lol

Huh? How are they inextricably linked? On matchdays perhaps but how is a concert at the stadium linked to the football club? Lowe for all his sins created the Radio Station and Insurance companys in a crazy idea that they would generate money for the PLC which would mean it would then in turn be able to support the football club while the pressence of a sugar daddy was yet to appear. The catering, Health care and Stadium companys are all using the saints brand name but are run from the PLC and not the football club and again are there to try and draw funds into ther PLC so it can pay the way of all its companys and so on. The bits and bobs could be anything or could be nothing but it wouldnt surprise me if there are other areas that the PLC has a hand in and the retirement company could well be one of them. I hate sounding like im defending the rosey faced tw at but was it not while he was gone that the radio station and insurance company were passed off elsewhere? so your accusation lowe not having the incentive to pursue non football buisness within the SLH model doesnt hold up. just because these other branches used the Saints brand name doesnt mean they were directly linked to the football club. And just like everyone else I thought the other branches of radio and insurance was potty and was glad to see the back of them. only now it seems possible that they held more weight in the PLC then we thought.

It did though. That is why I think the FL deem the football club to be the reason behind the administration. Take the football club away and the stadium alone brings in enough revenue to service its own debt, The Health, Catering, Insurance and Radio and other little bits and bobs didnt make enough money to keep the football club afloat like they were probably supposed to but without the football club the PLC would have been opperating in proffit. Losing the radio and insurance on paper wont have done much to the books but it makes the holding company look like it is only there for the football club which makes it a catch 22 for the -10 points I believe. Cant really say if it would have made any difference and as the league make things up as they go along i doubt it would have. but the PLC was doing what it was supposed to be doing for a long time and only recently been more concentrated on the football club. I wonder what would happen if the football club now went into admin because it couldnt keep paying the wages or something? Would we then get another -10 or would the FL retract the original points and give us a seperate -10?
-
You mean like also owning a radio station and insurance comany and a stadium that can hold international matches and concerts? At one point the Holding company had many outlets although the football club was its main asset and the other assets wernt exactly flooding there bank ballence.
-
We were also a club that thought the Holding company went into admin so the football club would not get a punishment. league change the rules and our priorities change at the last min. that has to have a massive effect on our possible results? League could get a bit of a stuffing if we get the points overturned. I guess they will look to make a deal at some point to remove the points but no further action should be taken. That of course would open it up for Luton to have another crack at the league along with a few others.
-
They didnt pull out cause of fighting, they were told to F Off by the main shareholders. I think it was the 1st time the 3 shareholders actually agreed on anything. That deal was set up by the execs to give them a nice pay out and from the other side SISU used us to twist coventrys arm. They were never going to buy us in a million years.

Didnt he choose Burley instead of erm Mark Wotte?

Wilde with investment would have needed Lowe as far away as possible but Wilde without investment needed tight arse Lowe around to take the flack. Both decissions turned out to be dross for differing reasons. But realistically I cant see how things would have been much different had Wilde and Lowe not come back. Sure Pearson would have stayed but if money as that tight then there would have surly been massive changes on the playing staff and still a high chance of bad results and a relegation scrap? So the chances of Admin this season would still have been high IMO. I think if it was my choice and I knew Admin was a dead cert this season I would have stuck with Crouch. It would at least have been a better ride. Admin 50/50 and I actually think lowe would have got the nod as on paper I would have thought he would do better at balencing the books. Would be nice to have a few of those that have promised to pump in cash named and shamed though. Many people over the years have waited on the edge of their seats for billy big wallet to put money where mouths are.

this still makes me chuckle. the record books will say we were weekest at the back yet our player of the season is our keeper and the next 2 players we least want to lose are our 2 central defenders in size and perry. We dont really know how well forcast may have done but things definately got worse without the 2 defenders

blimey I agree with you lol

I must have been watching different games! Every time i saw Tessem play I thought he was lazy, didnt track back, poor positional sence and a rubbish touch. I was moaning that he was the worst player on the pitch in the 1st half of the FA cup game against spuds. Went for a smoke and beer and he scored as I was comin up the steps just as the 2nd half started. I was pleased but gutted lol. Still dont think it would help if he came back as a player though.
-
i never rated him when he was with us before and cant see him being any fitter or mobile than way back when. He would love to help us out but so would Killer. Sometimes we need to look forward instead of backwards.

all good points and reading that its hard to understand at all how we have been hit the way we have. kind of makes the league look like a bunch of muppets that make things up as they go along. question I have is what happens if someone buys the club? Like say a new holding company buys southampton football club ltd. That holding company would not be in admin and neither would the club. so what would the points penalty be for? The holding company would still be in admin as I doubt the price they get for saints will clear the debts that have been racked up so we would be left carrying the penalty for a different company. I think the administrators have looked into an apeal and set things up for any new owners to mover forward if they so wish. personally i think they should go ahead with the apeal now and ram the FA's rules up its arse

ah its back now. could have had something to talk about all day had they not put it back. lol

A few mins ago there was a Kelvin reiterates his wishes to stay link on the OS. I clicked and got error code 404 content has been moved or removed message. News page on the OS now shows no sign of that story. Conspiricy or co(k up?

Rumour I heard a while back was that 1 of the parties interested in us had Shearer lined up to manage us next season should they take over. I heard this before Shearer got the toon job and figureed it was just a rehash of previous rumours. Shearer's contract is only till the end of this season so I suppose its still a possability. Will wait and see what happens before i get excited or hacked off about any of the many rumours though.

We are in a Britsh league with British teams and a majority of British supporters. I dont think commenting on a manager knowing this British way more than another as narrow minded to be honest. I dont think we or anyone else needs to be exclusivly British in anything to do well in any of our leagues but Wotte lacked something that resulted in more defeats than wins that I dont think would have been apparent had this been a league in Holand. The Dutch way can work IMO but the guy at the top needs to have more about him that JP and Wotte and the team needs to be much better to be able to carry out the Dutch way. Chelsea can do it with a Dutch manager and Dutch system which kind of shows how good all the ingredients need to be to make good use out of that system. And we aint! Couldnt give a monkeys about todays result, would have been nice to sign out with a win but was the last thing I expected. Looking forward to hearing some good news soon on new owners with money to spend and no association with any of the t1ts we have had in the past. And if that happens I will go buy a lotto ticket as my luck will obviously have changed.

If there points get taken off this season then would that strengthen our case to apeal? As they are having a points deduction that doesnt punish them where as we get a deduction for the same thing that will punish us. Doesnt sound very fair does it?
-
Thats a fair point. Sky charge a fortune just so that we can watch the top 4! If they didnt have the prem and CL there is no way they would charge as much to watch A1 and Rugby and Tenis. I might cancel mine and get Sultana instead. Bit of footy and a shed load of Ice Hockey. It will be years till Saints are back on Sky and by then if enough people have left them there price might come down to be more resonable.
-
I disagree, I think his original apeal to the fans was warented and although I dont like how it came about I appreciate the fact that something needs to be done. But I just think he went too far, my old man is at every home game and he didnt view Crouch and Lawrie standing in the centre circle begging the fans to well. He saw it as those 2 are part of the reason why we are in this mess and didnt like the way they kind of expected us to bail the club out. I felt the same until I heard how much Crouch has done to help since and I suppose I am giving the guy more slack. For what its worth my ole mans blood boils when ever Lowe is mentioned so its not becuase he is a luvvie that he has probles with crouch. With a bit of luck we will have new owners by next week and all these debates will seem like they are in the distant past lol
-
I think some of the problem is the fan friendly stuff crouch may have done in the past only compunded the problems we had further on. crippling wage bill for some of the players that crouch had a hand in bringing here have turned out to be pretty serious. Personally I dont like crouch any more than Lowe and Wilde and it makes me sick that one of the people heavily involved in the club we love while it went down the pan can stand there and ask us to bail the club out. But if what has been said in recent weeks about what crouch has done recently is true then I dont think he deserves as much of a bashing as the others. He alegedly has put his hand in his pocket to keep the club alive long enough to get a buyer in while the others slipped off to hide in there corners. If true then thanks from me but I still would rather he wasnt so public in his appeals as there is enough there that see's him as part of our downfall. All IMO of course

Burnly = My new 2nd club Its a shame the stewards and police wernt able to route out the poopy knobs and eject them before the end of the game. would have stopped the trouble at the end and the pitch invasion would have been nothing more than end of season antics.
-
so the one thing that worrys us the most looks like its a strong possibility? I didnt think things could get much worse on a more light hearted side though, can someone post the picture from that ariticle as the caption could be. Hated by everyone including his own shadow!

TBF I have more against him for the same reasons as you rather than where we ended up while he was with us. If he came to us with the right intentions I have no doubt we would have done better. But he came to stick fingers up and Manderbum and never really intended to put as much into making things happen with us. Lowe in the background didnt help at all but he would have known the type of club he was coming too and in any normal situation he would have demanded different terms or not bothered. So we got relegated when he could have saved us just because he had a 5 min arse on with poopy. thats what sticks with me when I think or him. Jamie came and did a professional job and its a shame his best years were behind him. but at least he came with the right intentions and gave the effort he could.
