I dont think you will find many clubs that have an owner ready to just throw money away and pretty much all of them would want to sell on at a profit rather than a loss. Even less actually make a football club run like a successful business and most run up a huge amount of debt. Lowe ran the club (into the ground) over 10 years and our debt was a 25 million mortage and a 6 million over draft which I think wasnt even there when he got the boot the 1st time. As a football club it was going no-where but thats not bad going with no external investment. Cant think of any other club that has done the same. How many shares did Lowe actually have anyway? I thought most of his total share was proxied from others so if the shares had been sold he wouldnt of actually made that much out of them. Crouch and Wilde would have been the bigger winners there. Crouch was playing billy big boss with something he only owned 10% of so throwing the clubs money around in last ditch attempts to get us on the up was fan pleasing but ultimatly not very helpful and just continued the slide to Admin. If I owned 10% of your house and used your house to go buy myself a boat and car via loans and HP, everyone would think im doing great and if all goes pair shaped you lose your house and I walk away. So while they all tried to do things better than each other I suppose they can all be thanked for trying despite there motives. We can also be thankful that they no longer have anything to do with our club!

Hang on a min. The ball wass fired across the box hard and his arm was down. Its not like his arm was in the air or moved in the way of the ball so anywhere else on the pitch and it ould have been ball to hand. I think its slightly different if the ball is heading into the net and hits an arm on the way but that was a cross so the arm did not stop a certain goal. That kind of decision has been given in the past but either decission would have been harsh on either team. Its crap that it went for them this time but thats football.

I think plenty of people at the time were saying the 3 could probably do better if they could work together but I suppose Lowe is so dislikable its hard for anyone to try and reason with him. I guess anyone who is in half a position to go against him would easily and quickly be drawn into an argument and move further and further away from any agreement. Would have been nice if the 3 got together with a plan to sell the club and went out to find ML and NC. Had that have happened they might have even been thanked for there efforts as they at least would have looked like they had the clubs best interest at heart. Discussions like these just make me even more gratfull that ML came along and saved our club.

So what turn of events needs to happen for our season to be turned round again? I half expect us to tonk the last 3 games by winning 5-0 each or something ridiculas. I wonder if Huddersfield and Colchester take their foot off the gas thinking we are out of it now and royally balls things up which then opens the door back up for us. So if they both lose there next game and we win ours for instance is everything then back on and the good feeling about possibly making it back? Or would it take them to lose 1 and then draw there next before we would believe again? Dont get me wrong as I fully expect us to be starting next season in league 1 now but wonder what events would make that expectation to change.

I thought it was quite funny on SSN a little while ago when they had a statement from a former Poopy advisor Whatshisface Agouzy, the guy who was done in Iraq for fraud or somit saying the 1 million Poopy owe Spuds was for an agreement that was never made when Kaboul was sold. The jist I got was the paperwork had been done about the 1 mil then he went to stoke so they agreed Spuds would pay 1 mill less than agreed for Kaboul. Its the kind of finacial genious that my 6 year old when trying to play monopoly. lol The statement was followed by someone else stating that the level of debt should lead the authoritys to a serious fraud investigation. Todays events have made the realisation of another year in League 1 seem like a walk in the park.

I know some have questioned subbing the sub but looking at the line up he was the only defensive player we had on the pitch that could be subbed for an attacking player when things were becoming more desperate. I cant see how Pards could have done anything else other than poking the ref in the eyes to give him an excuse for not seeing blatent penalty's.
-
I wouldnt say that and im sure Wotton understands that he is not the creative player that morgan is. We dont really have a replacement in the same mold as Morgan so when he is out we notice it more. If we lose a winger or striker or defender we have squad members that can fill in to do the same job. Wotton for Morgan changes the midfield completly.
-
From the camera view it could possibly have been not much but the ref and others were closer. He took a swing at him cause of losing his cool when being elbowed in the face. Personally I would have lost it completly but then thats one of the reasons I never got onto the school football team. had he not taken a kick at him the other guy could have been been off as the elbow was out of order but you cant expect backing from the ref when you take the law into your own hands. Pards has stated that he will be fined and he seems hacked off that morgan has put the end of season "at risk" and he had a better view than the camera angle.

Of course it was, only not as much as it is under NC.

Trouble is, this situation has never happened so its hard to say what they will do. I would have thought other clubs will have something to say if the FL let them in with no penalty. We went into admin after the end of March and we had to start the following season with a points penalty. Does it really matter what league we were in before? The FL could well use its own rules as a guide line and impose the same punishment based on all its members being treated the same. Why treat poopy differently just because they are coming from the prem? Our decline started in the prem but we managed to make our decline take a few seasons where as Poopy went down faster than the titanic. Have the FL said anything about how they will treat Poopy? I wonder if NC will take any action if they dont get a deduction. It looked like he was routing for them a while back when they were trying to get out of there initial -9.
-
Not even worth arguing it with you bud.
-
those 3 errors being: 1. A Rumour 2. The boards thoughts 3. A rule that fitted our situation perfectly but the FL then went with the deduction anyway And some still question the facts
-
Hadnt the club reduced the amount of debt by around 3 million leading up to the transfer window without selling anyone? Maybe the board thought they would continue to get the banks support as they had shown that they could run the business on a shoe string and reduce the debt? I dont claim to know any facts and not many on here can but looking at all the info it looks to me like Lowe tried everything to keep the club running at least. The right thing to to when the club was insolvent was to put the club into administration.(something Poopy forgot to do when the time came) I dont think any loop hole came into the thinking when the decission was made. The club tried to use the make up of the PLC as a way to avoid the -10 and any other club in the same situation would have done the same thing. Malwnker didnt close any loop hole and even stated before that if the holding company went into admin the club would not be punished. The loop hole is still there now but the FL will continue to choose how it implys its rules. We were on the wrong end of that decission this time (wrightly IMO) but it was worth a shot. Although the points in the whole debate can be argued forever more I couldnt agree more with your last point and its bloody fantastic that we all have something so positive to support. Them lot down the road will be looking up to us for a long long time to come.

1 week earlier we were a club that was going no-where fast but were still servicing all our debts. Show me a company that is holding its head above the water and then puts its self into admin..... Also had we taken the points last year the new owners could well have been pinacle and whats his face. as a more attractive option they could well have scraped together the cash and bought us before ML had a chance. We would no doubt be on route to another relegation and a future spell in admin had that been the case as that lot had no more money than Rupes.
-
If poopy went into admin after the end of march then surly they should be blessed with the same set of rules that applied to us? If it was before the end of march then the points wont carry over. On top of that as others have said, if they dont have an agreement to take them out of admin by the time the next season starts then they are possibly up for a further 15 points. Dont think the FL have made any comment on the matter yet but I would expect them to be starting on -10

Probably the most balenced post on this whole thread. Dont think anyone "liked" Lowe but some of the carp that is spouted off about how he did this and that is amazing. It doesnt matter any more and it will do none of us any good by arguing about it still. We were a club on the delcine after the FA Cup final. Poor decissions back then probably cost us our place in the prem and thats where I lay blame at Lowe's feet. After that there was a collection of errors from all party's with who ever was on the outside looking in causing as much trouble as possible. Lowe did himself no favours in coming back and in hindsight he probably wished he never did as the club went the same direction it was heading anyway. The only way anyone of them were going to "rescue" the club was if they had 100% support from everyone else including fans, shareholders and the bank. The good thing about it is its all in the past and we have managed to get the best possible outcome. A new owner that doesnt want to run the club based on debt but wants the club to be one of the best. Cant ask for more really.

Thanks for that, Can someone give Alan Pardew a call and let him know its not worth putting a team out for the remaining fixtures and not to worry. To be fair, I dont think anyone expects us to get promoted but everyone expects us to keep trying until its mathmatically not possible. The play-offs are still possible even if it will take a few other results going our way. If we get there then we have as good a chance as any to get promoted. If we dont then at least we gave it a good effort and we will be in a strong position to push for automatic promotion next season. Dont see anything to worry about in that lot but plenty to get excited about.

Check the last 6 games for form and we are ahead with 5 wins and 1 draw, Milwall 2nd with 4 wins and 2 draws, then Huddersfield with 4 wins 1 draw and 1 loss. Colchester are a fair way down with 1 win 2 draws and 3 loss's. I think Colchesters run in is easier than Huddersfields but it looks like both of them are having a shakey time of things so the final table is still up in the air at the mo.

I thought his brother owned a few cranes and his business was something different?

Although Celtic is a step up on paper its hard to see them going much further forward. For years the Old Firm have been at the top of the Scottish leagues and in and out of Europe. Will they ever step up from that? Saints are obviously on the up and potentially could be competing at as high a level as the old firm or even higher in just a few years. I know things can change in football quickly but IMO Pards would be off his head if he chose to leave and go to Celtic. If he gets us into the play-offs this year or automatic promotion next year (which seems to be what is expected) he has the chance to make a charge for the prem. The Owner has already shown he will back the team so the possibility of us challenging for Europe is very real and the Saints top job must be a sought after job now. More so than the Celtic job IMO.

when was the last time most saints fans felt good about being saints fans while there rivals are 2 divisons above them?

blimey I was begining to think Morgan wouldnt score this season. chasing down that top 6 now.

in amongst the rubbish you usually speak you sometimes come out with something quite funny. This is one of those times.

they cant afford to pay there debt's, player's and staff yet they can afford to pay the ref.
