  1. Who's to say Spurs didn't offer £20,000 to £25,000 per week? I don't see a number quoted anywhere...
  2. If you like GTA IV:- Red Dead Redemption is a brilliant open world western tale. if you want a fun stealthy Action Game try Assassins Creed: Brotherhood or Assassins Creed Revelations. For superhero gameplay go for BatmanL Arkham City. or for pure smut Saints Row the Third. Also Sleeping Dogs (out on Friday) looks like it may be good and may be the closest thing to GTA without being GTA. Elsewhere For Arcade racing Dirt: Showdown is immensely fun with lots or different gametypes. For Racing Sim go for Forza
  3. Was gonna say the same thing about the rice trick. That's worked for me before. Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
  4. The telegraph has chosen to run the article on armed forces day for added sensationalism. The report is due for publication next Thursday and uses the recommendations of a lt col. Hardly any reason for Hammond to face any ire. Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
  5. The next Playstation won't be cloud based. The average internet speed isn't fast enough. Not to mention Galkai have come out and said they are looking for someone to acquire them straight after the heavily persistent rumours of a Sony/Galkai tie up before E3. That sounds like Sony have walked away from talks. Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
  6. here's Cameron's speech in full:- http://www.conservatives.com/News/Speeches/2012/06/David_Cameron_Welfare_Speech.aspx if you can't be bothered to read it the most important bit is:- and other extracts Reading the whole thing. I think they've got it spot on this time.
  7. The Svensson thing is simply the Sun manipulating a joke from this article. Good example of the reporting capabilities of the tabloids. http://www.soccerway.com/news/2012/June/20/svensson-jumping-on-england-train/ Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
  8. A load of our tv channels are also watched in Eire. the Sky Channels especially. Its not exactly gonna help their viewing figures and by extension advertising revenue if they slag the Irish off. Not to mention the huge number of Irish ex pats and descendants of Irish ex pats that are here in the Uk. Sent from my Lumia 800 using Board Express
  9. This such a short term 'victory'. The Premiership get 1.4bn from Sky / Espn and 130 million from the rest of Europe. I can see the Premier League going as far as just cancelling the contracts of any broadcaster whose feed make it to the UK on the cheap iminently, making any of the foreign box subscriptions worthless. In the end that's short term pain for long term gain.
  10. And out of a choice of 23 other 'keepers he was put in the League 1 team of the season as Goalkeeper because of him being a "liability" i presume?
  11. unless 1970 is now in the Sixties and 1990 is now in the Eighties, the last year of the decade was 2009. whatever happened two millenia ago is irrelevant now.
  12. The problem with Ed Miliband is his history. Can he really distance him self that much from the previous regime when he wrote the 2010 part manifesto. With his previously held jobs as special advisor at the Treasury, and chairman of HM Treasury's Council of Economic Advisers, just how responsible is he for the financial mess that the Labour government left us with? why does the phrase "one born every minute" spring to mind?
  13. yeah, there was apparently a box you had to tick to say you support the labour party. 1 in 10 union papers were spoiled, the majority because that box wasn't ticked. Seems like that is a lot of union members who don't support labour.
  14. Adam Boulton blogs about some of the voting numbers here: http://blogs.news.sky.com/boultonandco/Post:642ae84c-1051-4fb0-8e68-8c2076174a5e and how the Unions may have influenced the vote is blogged about here: http://blogs.ft.com/westminster/2010/09/how-the-unions-may-have-upped-the-ed-miliband-vote/
  15. i'm sure people have been complaining about the clubs lack of communication recently.... now we want less communication?
  16. yeah, and he said "maybe I'd return for an international job", so he was obviously talking about Wales
  17. The Scun+horpe chairman doesn't have a problem? How about having to face the embarrassment of losing a manager to a club in a lower division? how often does that happen? how sh!t does that make his club look?
  18. Absolutely. It seems there a quite a few people on here who think the best way of running the football club is to constantly capitulate to the media or to whatever other Chairman say. I severely doubt that NC would do anything to endanger the club, and find it disturbing how many people make snap judgements based on impatience, hearsay and assumptions. Give the guy a chance to do his job, and the best for SFC.
  19. interesting couple of tweets.... @JamesMawFFT :Alan Shearer or Nigel Adkins for the Southampton job. You heard it here first (unless you heard it somewhere else) (via @KitCox) @FootballAgent46: @JamesMawFFT you're half right on the final two. so the selection is down to two and one of the two is either Shearer or Adkins?
  20. isn't entirely possible we have made a signing, it just won't get announced till later..... there been lots of times before when signings aren't known until the next day, and we know how our Chairman like things announced on the OS first.
  21. I think Zola's current experience with the Italian Under 21's, and his proliferation for using young talent in the West Ham side make him fit into the "Southampton Way of Thinking"... I think I'll put some money on him today.
  22. I cant believe the Sports Journalist Association are screaming about possible censorship ( http://www.sportsjournalists.co.uk/blog/?p=2706 ) while all accredited photographers have to sign Terms and Conditions with Football Data Co that includes the following:- (http://www.football-dataco.com/documents/Regional%20Accreditation%20Agreement.pdf) 8.3 Photographs may not be used for any Photosale without the prior written approval of the relevant Club(s) that feature in the applicable Photograph.
  23. If it was arranged in an way at all similar to the unfair distribution of monies from the Premier League being distributed down the ladder, then I probably ain't a jump to work out why NC is doing this.
  24. That Guardian link has an image accredited to "Christopher Lee/Getty Images". I think it's fair that if they want to print an Image that is to do with Saints then money should come to the club. With the amount of money that isn't going into football at the moment (see Portsmouth, Preston, Southend, Cardiff) what's wrong with trying something new? will it really alienate that many people?
  25. So Betfair is not getting much money on other League 1 sides. and how do they compensate? Why not just have a special offer on the other teams rather than the "no team who has spent less than 5 mins of the match by the corner flag nearest the away fans has ever gone up on an odd year if the consecutive year is a square root" type stats?
