  1. to quote Plymouth fan @Green Army 75 from the Plymouth match thread. "I’m really surprised how critical some of your fans are of your players!"
  2. You are ludicrously myopic in your hatred of the current regime, even though the people who are running the show are pretty much 100% different to just three months ago. It is a fact that no other club in the second tier has received anyway near the incomings we have. We have turned playing assets acquired in the last few seasons have been turned into monetary assets to a better extent than anyone else. So far we have bought a Man City Kid who put in a Player of the match performance on Saturday, and a player who has previously worked with Martin, and chose us over Premier League Options. Last time I looked both players were involved in the first three matches of the season and we havent lost yet. Everyone know the financial prowess, we have. Everyone will have seen the league intent we have with the first 3 league games. The negativity you still hold is absolutely unwarranted

    Injury Watch

A Manager saying an injury is "short term" just before the transfer window shuts, is different from a manager saying an injury is "short term" after the window closes. ie. You dont want other clubs know you may need to get an extra player in.
  4. Missed a lot of phone spelling corrections on my original post so hopefully it reads clearer now, but the whiskey was enjoyable last night...
  5. That top players wage article was utter bull. They didn't even do basic research before posting it You would have had to be earning £133,000 a week to be earning £80,000 a week after a 40% contracted wage cut JWP was reportedly our highest salaries player at £100k a week, so there will be a grand total of zero players at Southampton currently on over £60k a week.

    Che Adams

Do you think we struggled to sign strikers in January because of the outlook and uncertainty? Because that's what Everton will be having right now. It's not arrogance, just reality.

You never know. Completely different folk in the heirachy currently. Completely different outlook on the pitch.

Everton getting a 4-0 battering by Villa would certainly make people reluctant to move to the club. If the powers that be wanted to, now may be an opportunity to add two years to the contract.

First points of the Season for the other Sports Republic Clubs Game 3 for Valenciennes: Valencienne 0 - 0 Guincamp Game 2 for Göztepe: Ümraniyespor 0 - 0 Göztepe
  10. No, we're not fortunate. Today we put in a performance with an injury hit squad. Players like A. Armstrong were relentless in going for the three points. We're currently the highest scorers in the league. The improvements in set pieces were obvious after a week of our new coach. It's time to get rid of the hangover negativity from last season. Time to enjoy this season. It's going to be a good one.
  11. Give Adam Armstrong a Contract extension.
  12. Absolutely, Burnley only really clicked after match 5 last season. This is only match 3 of a new system, and we've not rebuilt yet.
  13. Ballard was taken off at 60 for the u21's last night. He'll get minutes come 65-75
  14. Really don't think Edozie had been up to standard this half, and our balance is off. Bring on Amo-Ameyaw to go on right, and switch Tella over to the left
  15. Think Shea Charles only had his arms up there as he was off balance.
  16. Martin said on Wednesday that Stu Armstrong wasn't fit enough for 90 yet. Going to be an interesting lineup when we get to 70 minutes.
  17. I'm surprised this Rossaftbl didn't put "Exclusive" on it, as it's a very first mention on X/Twitter. Looking forward to "news made up by randoms" going away.
  18. at the Fans Forum, I thought I heard Martin said there were lots of players wanting to come to Southampton, but we were having to wait for exits. Surely its just the club being professional and not bandying names about.
  19. It was on Live on Twitter at 8.30am this morning, dont think the time was preannounced though
  20. "You could be forgiven for expecting a Blue Peter style totaliser being unveiled outside the ground for fans to keep a track of how much cash has rolled in. Not much has gone out yet."

so current state of affairs. Valenciennes have played 2 lost two, and sit at the bottom of the table (lost 4-1 in game 1 and 3-0 in game 2.) Göztepe have played one lost one. Losing their first home game 1-0, at a neutral stadium as they don't give special dispensation like the EPL have done with Luton this season. Despite losing in the play-off last season, SR seem to have a PR disaster on their hands with the stadium.
  22. Last year of Contract, and we dont have room for anyone if he doesnt leave.

They've been calling for the resignation of The Chief Financial officer Emre Can, (a different one) and they're mightily disgruntled about the first home game being played at a different venue.
