Say a championship side was looking at a championship attacker who had scored 17 goals in the league, 2 goals in the cup and on top of that had five assists. You look at that record. You're not looking at £9 million, you're not looking at £15 million. You're looking at £20 million plus for those numbers. I'd be very surprised if the reports that Southampton would accept £15 million for Tella are accurate. £15 million is the most Burnley have ever paid for a player, and that's why that number is out there. He's got the 11 Shirt, and he's got a full season rather than the 39 league games he played for Burnley last year. Expect goals from Tella... For Southampton.

blimey, there's some people with a relegation hangover on here. 5/12 relegated teams have been promoted straight back up in the last 4 seasons. We still have Burnleys highest scoring player from last season on our books, and Alcaraz looks to have "team of the season" potential. Jay Rod scored 2 in the whole of their relegation season, scoring 10 last season in the championship. Burnley only scored 3 in their first 4 games of the season, in fact they sat in 16th after game week 5. The faster one touch football, looks to be embedding well, so I don't see any reason why we cant do the same. I'm always half glass full. Promotion season coming up.

There's an U21 league too, they've got to have some players for there.

There was admission last year that we couldn't afford 25 year olds who were at their peak. We purposely bought young players with the intent for them to grow and get better with us. We didn't expect long term injuries with Livramento and Larios We didn't anticipate the frailties of the defenders in front of Bazunu. But know we have got young players with PL experience who still have the potential of being good players. Let's not write anyone off.
