Please sign this petition at the Rovers match Saturday
Teddy Nutkins replied to shirleysfc's topic in The Saints
Totally agree, it is ironic (or planned) that one of the hospitals competing with Southampton is Bristol, so please take the time out to sign the petition. -
Championship Season - What positions need strengthening?
Teddy Nutkins replied to RobM's topic in The Saints
I would expect us to stengthen the "spine" of the team, even if we stay in this league. GK CB CM CF -
I have just sifted my way through this thread and have to say , i have never ever seen such a diverse set of opinions about a football match.I came away from the ground elated at the comeback and being part of such an exciting 2nd half. Saints are not firing on all cylinders, at all times, at the moment and to be honest not many teams do at this late stage in the season, with so much at stake. But boy what a fightback. FWIW, i thought we did ok at times during the game and it took a lot of character to come back from being 2-0 down. Strangely when we were 2-0 down the game was crying out for us to strengthen our right side, so i guess it worked with jono coming on to score the two goals, although if i were him i would choose some lottery numbers for the next draw, pdq. I also thought at times Gully and Lambert were trying to play in similar spaces, which confused matters at times so when we did revert back to "norm", we looked a little more balanced.Special mention for a special player Adam Lallana, fantastic 2nd half display which lifted everyone to believe we could rescue the game, the lad never stopped running and fighting for the cause. I want to touch briefly on MK's goals, all through my playing days i was told that your 6 yard box was there for the goalkeeper to command and on that basis never complained when our keeper punched me in the back of the head trying to get the ball, harsh on Kelvin Davis, jury's out, the ball came in with pace, but it would have been good to see him compete. The other thing i was told, was that a good keeper will always cover his near post, deflection, unlucky, i don't know but it didn't happen and it caused a long hard fight to get back in the game. All in all enjoyed the game and look forward to Charlton and Orient games, it's good being a Saints fan at the moment all be it, tense.

That is where his problem was Jack, if he won it back he didn't know what to do with it afterwards.I was always told you had to work hard first to allow your talent and ability come through, a couple of problems there for him. Fair play to him, he made a living out of football, i didn't.

I was very pleased for Paul Wotton when he left, but more importantly for myself.....

Horrible place to try and watch football, Jan.

There is when you put the Saints in the equation.Automatic promotion is there for us and it would be good to just keep this run going, but, Saints never ever do things the easy way.

There's plenty more ooooooo's and ahhhhhhhhh's left Andy , until the final whistle blows.

Walsall 1 - 0 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Teddy Nutkins replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
You could of written the script for this game. After having watched Saints for many years i should be used to the let down for all the fans, when we get into a position of strength and invariably -uck it up, why?? Why can't we for once take advantage of games in hand, why can't we for once beat these struggling teams that are fighting for their lives, why can't we impose ourselves on these teams, if ,what everyone tells me, we are the strongest squad in the league...why? I feel so sorry for those fans that supported the team so well last night, it must have been a long journey home, but for what it is worth well done, it was really loud support i could hear on the radio.......that is until Radio Solent decided to -uck up as well.I feel really happy this morning.....not....thanks once again Saints. -
How about " Marching through time", Duncan.

Excellent "clip-on" hair extension, just what i need.

Glad you are all ok Ian, it really is tragic.

Fwiw i thought he was a decent player who strolled around the midfield, linking play and breaking up opposition attacks, but never had that extra yard of pace to make him into something special. Highly regarded by Glen Hoddle, you'll be pleased to know, Dalek.

I think what he was saying was, i got these lads in because i think they are good players........please give them time to settle in.

Well said Andy, what a shame that it seems any news about Saints is always contraversial(sp). It seems to me there are always co..ck waving contests, aired live in the papers. No one person is bigger than the football club, as the Liverpool manager said over the Torres business and i believe he is right. As for the comments about Mike Osman on here, they are not nice, after all the guy is trying to make the best evening possible for all those going, and i don't think the comments were necessary.

To be honest you could argue this until the cows come home.I happen to think they would both be as equally good.....or bad as each other, the one thing to me that does stand out (apart from my beer gut) is the need for Nigel Adkins to search for another keeper to start next season....hopefully in the Championship.

LOL....Priceless:lol:
