Would like to see McCarthy get games at some point as he certainly has the pedigree to be competition for Forster, but it would be a case of whether the manager has the bottle to make that decision - the bumper contract suggests Reed and Co. see him very much as our number one. I think FF is the epitome of a confidence player, so if we can get Hoedt and Van Dijk in front of him and perhaps a new attacking option to provide some consistency and cohesion in the final third we can forget the frailties for a while.
Definitely a wait and see moment. Although we are obviously in a much stronger position in 2017 it feels strangely like the reverse takeover with Lowe in terms of unknown quantity.
Wrights punditry is based on his fixed mindset (sic) and continuing delusion that it's still the early 90s and nothing has changed since in terms of hierarchy and structure [much has changed since]. He's not alone in this, he's just the thickest of the thick.
We paid £13 million for him, that's all we are owed if we take a stance. Let the cry baby rot in the reserves with multiple fines and an on hand psychologist to improve his 'mindset'.
